Visit limit?

By talismanquestions, in Talisman Rules Questions

Suppose there is some combination of multiple places and strangers on a single space. Can you "visit" all of them, or only one of them? "Visit" doesn't seem explicitly defined, but they do have encounter numbers which suggests you encounter all on the stack in order.

" Adventure Cards must be dealt with in the order determined
by their encounter number." [page 9, base rules]

Not only can you encounter multiple adventure cards a single space,
you even have to encounter them all in order.

Well "dealt with" seems more like it's referring to enemies, because you don't "need" to deal with a stranger who is simply offering something if you want, because as far as I can see, you can ignore them if you want.

Many strangers simply offer you things to take/do,
yes, but if you are instructed to roll a die and/or
do something with no "may", you have to because
you can't just not encounter a card unless an effect
allows you to.

For example, you always have to roll the die for the Witch:

I guess that makes sense, it does say in the rules that at the city you have to visit the enchantress if none of the other two are available.
