Jedi Star IC thread

By Tramp Graphics, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

Tino yelps as he is lifted, stumbling slightly as he lands on the ground.

W-whoa...

He gasped before he turned to his ship.

Who ever’s in there, I want you to get out now!

As soon as Jar hears someone screaming for whoever is hidden in the cargo hold to come out, he gathers up his things and cautiously comes out of his hiding spot. As he steps out of his hiding spot with his Macrobinoculars around his neck and his Ionization Blaster in his hands ready to fire just in case things turn violent. He asks in the Jawa Trade language "Who are you and how did you know I was on the ship."

Korath looks at everyone in turn. "I gather," he says, "it seems like you'd all rather walk. Well then, everyone stick together and follow close behind me. Navigation is one of my strong suits." With that, he heads off in the direction of the hidden temple.

" Obviously workin own that instead oh yer interpersonal skills, mate" Xanth says under her misting breath.

Arvel, what section of the city did your superior officers tell you to stay clear of in order to proverbially keep your nose clean?

Arvel responds, "The area near the Old Market District. The say it as the center of the city a long, long time ago. But those days are clearly over."

Elias: Who's interested in heading there with me. The plan, provided that Tino is willing to give us a lift off world, is to find a ship fence who can put us in contact with a smuggling crew with the resources to change the first order shuttle's transponders. It helps them make money, weakens the first order's ability to control the lives of the galaxy's citizens, and potentially helps the Resistance in 2 ways, first putting another crew out there that they can hire to get past first order blockades and by distracting the first order by giving them another target they have to divide their attention with. And I'd guess that the 7 of us could each come out 10K credits richer for it. Besides which, I don't like the kind of attention that shuttle draws particularly without changing the transponder codes which we don't have the resources to do. So are we all in agreement on this course of action?

Jar takes back his Ionization Blaster but instead of holding it ready he holds it to the floor. Jar looks Elias in the eyes and begins (Jawa Trade Language) "My name is Jar Q'aheqac from Tattooine. My life began sixteen cycles ago, during my childhood I felt the spirits of the Magic whisper to me in my dreams; the spirits showed me things of what is yet to come. When I went to the elders and the shamans, who I informed of my visions, I was told that they would not train me since only the women of my people may know the Shamanistic Traditions. So I left and worked for a time with beings who intended to cause the twin suns to become black or maybe to just cause one of them to become black. I do not know I was bad at the life they taught me. They sent me to meet with someone they had a deal with, but the spirits guided me to shoot at the men then run away from the beings I worked with. You see the spirits tell me that I have been marked out with a great purpose to win much Glory and become a great star-walker. However I also see that you know much more than me so perhaps I could stay with you and learn what magics you know?"

Elias: I am certainly willing to train you in the ways of the jedi, but it is important to find the right teacher or teachers, and there are 3 potential teachers for your here, the other two are Akua Serendine here,

(he gestures to Akua)

and Excal'ur Pendragon here

(He gestures to Excal'ur)

Does anyone here have an objection to Jar Q'aheqac joining our group?

I learned a little about life on tatooine from the stories Master Skywalker told. I only have third hand accounts of what a jawa's life on tatooine would be like, but I heard your people like scavenger, repairing, and building tech. Perhaps you would prefer building a training lightsaber to be your first lesson? While many traditions across the galaxy refer to it as magic, jedi refer to it as "the Force." A lightsaber,

(Elias shows Jar Q'aheqac his lightsaber)

which some refer to as a laser sword

(Elias briefly ignites his saber, waves it around, then deactivates it)

is frequently a jedi's focus for the force. It's not a magic totem or amplifier, but it is a valuable training tool that is useful for instruction. A training saber, is non lethal, and can be built from parts that are commonly available, so I'm sure we can purchase the parts here on Gorse.

@player3333902

Tino if you're interested I can teach you to make a training saber too, it's not terribly difficult once you know how. So are you willing to join us, at least temporarily? If you decide after a few weeks that the ways of the jedi are not for you, you can leave at any time and we won't try to stop you.

So who's interested in selling a first order shuttle to some smugglers?

Edited by EliasWindrider

Tino turns to Arvel.

I see what you mean by he loves to show off.

He said simply before nodding.

I can go with the plan. But if I feel anything done against me, I will not hesitate to sell you out.

Elias: Welcome to our little troupe. I can manage when I have to, but is anyone here really good at negotiating? Tino, are you interested in learning how to build a training saber?

The party begin to make their way into the wilderness that was outside of the small frontier town. Before long they were dip in the dense forest, knee deep in snow. Kark would hold his arms close to his chest underneath his coat. 'This is insane' he would mutter under his breath as he trudges on. 'This is insane, we're going to freeze to death, and die, and our bodies will never be found'.

The walk was long and tiring, but eventually they break the tree line of the forest. It is beginning to grow dark as the party reach the icecaps where Drez'n had meditated before. Somewhere around here was a secret building that housed a lost jedi, but where?

Arvel falls a few steps behind Elias and winds up next to Akua. He whispers, "Do all Jedi hand out lightsabers so quickly, ma'am. Or is this Elias, just being Elias?"

Tino stared at Elias before nodding.

Yes... I would like to have a saber...

Akua giggled.

Don’t need to call me ma’am, just Akua.

She smiled.

And generally, youngling get their first lightsabers when they are no longer an infant. So yes in a sense. However, it’s only a training saver, like we are having Tino make, so it can’t cut, only sting.

Elias: Tino and Jar, you might want to start thinking about what you want your hilt to look like, the primary difference between a training saber and regular saber is that a normal lightsaber uses a kyber crystal to excite and focus the energy and a training saber uses a fairly mundane emitter that can be made from commonly available materials. Because, assuming you have a kyber crystal which is hard to come by, it's a fairly minor modification to upgrade a training saber to a full fledged lightsaber you could very well keep using the original hilt that you will be crafting today or tomorrow so putting some thought into how you want it to look and feel won't be a wasted effort. So let's head to the market district. Arvel would you care to lead the way?

with that Elias opened the doors to the docking bay and stepped out. When Jar Q'aheqac stepped out he spoke to him quietly,

that ionization blaster of your is good against droids, not not so much against organics, here take this, I won't need it

And he handed Jar Q'aheqac the scout trooper blaster pistol.

@Jonas Shaaf

@Lotr_Nerd

Chemdat quietly fumed at how eager Elias seemed to be to train these two sentients that he had met less than an hour ago while he was trying to unload Chemdat on the old geezer Korath Lorren.

Arvel nods, "This way, pointing down the street to the left."

Korath leads the party across the glaciers quickly and unerringly. As they get close to their destination, he notices a hidden crevasse, partially buried by snow and rubble, and within the crevasse there appeared to be a durasteel blastdoor.

"Everyone," he called as he headed for the crevasse. "I think I've found our entrance."

Taking an assessment of the situation, He realizes that the rubble will need to be cleared before they can access the entrance.

The group of force sensitivity follows Arvel to the Old Market District, once there Elias notices a cantina This is as good a place as any to start asking around, he mentions. Inside they immediately notice a beautiful blue skinned near human, likely either a pantoran or chiss, at a table playing sabaac. She is dressed to impress. The males of various species at the table are missing articles of clothing. They are seem to be wagering clothing for the ante and by the fact that she's fully dressed (although in an outfit that shows plenty of skin) she is apparently a much better sabaac player than the males around her. She eyes Tino as he walks in the door and gives him a wink.

Edited by EliasWindrider

Like much of the city now, the market district was largely deserted. Only a few people were seen here and there, in windows or hurrying down the street. Even most of the criminals seemed to take the First Order enough of a threat to cut ties with the republic world. In the past the cadets had to work in pairs to watch each others backs, and their wallets. Smugglers had made this place their home, and where smugglers settle thugs and pickpockets are soon to follow.

A neon sign flickered weakly in the daylight, advertising the name of the cantina as 'the Bloated Sarlacc'. The image below had a hand emerging from the infamous more of the sand dweller. The interior was a rather dingy and poorly kept affair. A thin layer of dust covered most surfaces with the exception of the bar.

Shortly after the parties arrival, yet another gathering strides through the door. Though they would not recognise the newcomers, the woman playing pazzac would recognise her adoptive father, as well some of his crew. He was a heavy set man, with dark brown hair swept back over his head, and dense stubble running over his face. Age had begun to catch up with him though, and the hair was streaked with grey here and there. He wore a bomber jacket with a large collection of patches running down the arm, most of them military patches from both sides of the previous war. His crew was a collection of species often seen serving the hutts, though there were many humans present as well.

'Aris!' His voice would boom across the room as he strides across the room, shoving his way past the party as if he barley registered them. As he and his men approach the table the men who had been playing pazzac would scramble to their feet and hurry towards the door. They don't stop to try and collect their losses, and those that are too slow receive a push or boot from a near by smuggler. 'Really?' he would say in an exasperated voice, surveying the scene while pinching the bridge of his nose. 'We're meant to be kicking off of this ball, and you're here messing with the locals? You should be helping load up the ship'.

Aris stands up looks her dad in the eye somewhat defiant, but sweetly with a touch of spunk says: Pops, remember the stories you told be about how you got your first ship, I just want to be like you. And how am I supposed to get better if I don't practice and how am I supposed to win my own ship someday if I'm not awesome at sabaac?

To the newcomers it's clear they've had this argument before and that Aris knows how to tug at the old smuggler's heart.

Korath Closes his eyes and focuses. Within moments, the whole pile of snow and rubble begins to rise into the air revealing the entrance to the temple. taking his time, Korath moves the pile over to one side before setting it back down gently, leaving a clear path for the party.

"You were saying Avalon?" Korath replies sarcastically.

First he'll have to open those large, very heavy blast doors. All Korath did was remove the rubble pile.

Tino blushed slightly as the female winks at him, staring at her slightly as he watches her talk.
