"Duck and Cover" and Low Profile

By Muelmuel, in Rules

Haven't seen this posted yet so I'll ask. Does Duck and Cover(DC) combo with Low Profile(LP)?

Duck%20and%20Cover.png

rrg pg 42: "If a trooper unit has one or more suppression tokens assigned to it, that unit improves its cover by one when defending against ranged attacks."

Rebel%20Commandos.png

rrg pg 22: "When a unit that does not have cover improves its cover by one, it is treated as having light cover."

Seems like they do :)

Yup! Take a suppression token for heavy cover.

How does this interact with Sharpshooter 1? Does it reduce their cover from 1 (but effectively 2) to 0, or from 2 to 1? When Veers shoots Han who's standing in the open with a suppression token, what type of cover does Han have?

Under both the sharpshooter rules and the low profile rules it says "When determining cover, add cover values (not exceeding heavy cover), before subtracting cover values.". I would therefore add the cover from low profile to make it 2, then subtract from sharpshooter to make it 1.

Page 46:

"When determining cover, add cover values (not exceeding heavy cover), before subtracting cover values.

For example, a unit with heavy cover and a suppression token that is attacked by a unit with sharpshooter 1 has light cover."

You add everything up to a maximum of 2, then subtract sharpshooter. Sharpshooter 2 on Boba Fett means you never recieve cover.

Thank you, gentlemen. Not sure how I missed that. This is good news for my soon-to-be-released Rebel boys.

Great clarification on this. Thank you.
