I thought Cover 1 increased Cover level by1 (so a speeder flying along gets light cover??).
Light cover negates 1 normal hit.
Normal hits dont effect the speeder due to ARMOR?
Whats the point of it having Cover1? Am I missing something?

Cover 1 removes a die before it can be turned to a crit, Armor kicks in after.
Ah is it incase unit like ATST shoots it.
Rolls 3 normal hits(cover cancels1)
Then the 2 remaining hits are converted to crits due to the ATAT IMPACT3?

I think you are confining what I put regards Impact yes?

Yep, that's correct. It's roll, reroll, convert surges (if applicable). Then apply Dodge and Cover to remove dice, then card abilities that modify attack dice (Impact, etc.).
I had to look this up the other night when flying my T-47 for the first time. At first glance Cover 1 and Armor seem redundant, so I had the same question.
Yeah this tripped me up first game as well, despite looking into it beforehand. So much going on learning the game. I just sharpie markered notes on the quick reference to make it clear what actually happens during each step.
