Nope. Just to track rounds.
It can be used to simulate a Surface to Surface Missile. You can throw it at any time, any minis that get knocked over are considered defeated.
Note this may be an ambitious house rule...

could use it for a house ruled mortar (I had some odd thought the other day ago about doing this with quarters)... hand fully behind long edge of table flip round counter towards opponent, any unit that it lands against is defeated, all units in range one take one wound
