Question: If a trooper unit gains a suppression token after performing the first action of its activation, such as from a standby attack, if it now has suppression tokens equal to or exceeding its courage value, does it lose its second action? Additionally, during a suppressed unit’s activation, can it perform a recover action for its first action, removing all of its suppression tokens, and then proceed to perform its second action now that it is no longer suppressed?
Answer: No, in both cases. A unit is considered suppressed any time that it has suppression tokens equal to or exceeding its courage value, however a suppressed unit only loses an action if it is still suppressed immediately after it performs its Rally step. A unit cannot lose an action due to gaining suppression tokens after it has already performed its Rally step. Nor can a unit regain a lost action by removing suppression tokens.
Standby vanishes from a suppression token though - as part of its own rules. So, if you are attacked before you can spend your standby token.. it's gone.
