My friends and i are unable to resolve a dispute. Were not sure if the progression of buildings is linear, as in you must build your barracks all the way up, then your Factory all the way uo, then your starport, or, if you only need to build the first teir factory to get the first tier starport, and then you can upgrade at your discretion. Thanks

You don't even need a Factory to build a Starport. The only requirement is that to level up a building, you need to previous level first. (i.e.: 3 goes on top of 2 on top of 1 on top of 0.)

Thanks, that clears up alot, but to satisfy everyone, do you know if its stated anywhere in the game rules/FAQ specifically or is this just an interpretation?

I can't find where it specifically says that you can skip a building group entirely, but the example on p37 of the base rules clearly shows the Red Terrans building a level 1 Starport without any Factories whatsoever.
