Bad times vs sacrificial construct

By symonism1, in Android: Netrunner Rules Questions

If the runner has Sacrificial Construct, does that negate the effects of bad times? I'm of the thought that the Corp isn't trashing a program card, but removing memory slots. What the runner does with the info is his perogative as long as it involves freeing 2 memory slots. And trashing his own card.

Thoughts?

Your thought is correct. Bad Times reduces the Runner's memory slots by 2. The Runner now if they are over the limit must get within the limit.

But to answer the earlier question, you can’t prevent the MU-mandated trashing of programs with Sacrificial Construct, but you can choose which to trash if any.

N.B. That’s one reason Bad Times is not a good card: it’s a dead draw if the runner isn’t fully using their MU, it’s expensive to play, and the runner will never trash the programs you really want gone.

Thanks for the clarification - I was being very literal and did not go into the relative usefulness of the card.
