It occurred to me that Lurker added rules that would cause this early attempt of moving gates to require revision.

Yeah I think we were more thorough in our description of the gate behavior that FFG has been, we included a clause for vortexes. But now his power text is cut to something like 1/4 of the length, looks a lot better.

You've essentially made Mother of Teeth an easily exploitable infinite doom track ancient one :'/ Also, the picture, while nice, doesn't really fit the overall game aesthetic (along with a number of other things you've posted). I realize it's not always possible to find something fitting, but it's still nice to try :')

I liked Lilith though. It's fairly interesting making spells a penalty draw, but then requiring them for final battle.

Alas Monsterpocalypse hasn't done many pics for the Lords of Cthul, so I had to work with what I had. Mother of Teeth is somewhat more appropriate than you'd think, I just couldn't fit it into the space provided: motherofteeth.jpg

Theres only so many Cultists in the cup, so in theory she cant extend her Doom Track too far, and if Male Investigators are willing to be Devoured, they can keep shrinking it.

Yeah just assign a player to take male investigators over and over and cast the call ancient one after a few turns and she won't wake up until you run out of male investigators (which is 27). Assign a second to hold onto a monster killing arsenal for the first while he reincarnates and a third to collect clues and seal gates. It would more than double your normal play time. It's an interesting mechanic but you need something to balance it, getting devoured isn't the punishment one might think it is in this game, at times its a boon.

Also the way the start of battle power is stated it would only add empty doom slots to her track and no doom tokens. It should be writen something like "Add a doom token to the track for each cultist on the sheet" being the start of battle power it won't trigger until final combat and it now actually adds doom tokens.

And I think Avi meant style rather than theme of the image.

How bout if I added one of the following:

"Anytime a Male Investigator is Devoured he must be replaced with a Female one"

or

"Once The Mother of Teeth Devours 6 Male Investigators, she Awakens and the Final Battle begins."

How about for each investigator devoured reduce the number of open gates required for the AO to wake up by 1. I bet that way you'd only get 2 or 3 devoured before things got really hairy.

Oh and check out this link there are a lot of images (and I mean a LOT) that have a similar style as Arkham and I know I've seen a few of a woman with tentacles for legs similar to that one if you fee the need to match styles. Otherwise it's still a good resource.

I like that. It fits her backstory of seducing mortal woshipers and then devouring them so they remain a part of her forever (thereby increasing her power enough to one day break free).

And many thanks for the picture link. Honestly i mostly used this pic cause it's the only tentacle woman i could find who wasnt naked having spurious relations with men (my google search was interesting. possibly not in a good way depending on your point of view).

Yes google searches for images of this subject matter can be quite terrifying at times. I once found an image of a guy with an eldersign tattoo who was apparently trying to prevent monsters from coming out of an unspeakable part of his body......some things can't be unseen.

But yes. I like the image, just not for Arkham Horror. It's too Alphonse Mucha meets anime (which looks great, just not like Arkham Horror).

But presuming I make the aforementioned tweaks shes okay crunch wise?

I foresee no glaring issues that way, test her out a couple times just to make sure there are no odd reactions to things.
