Any 2nd edition books that would contribute to 3rd edition?

By stanmons, in WFRP Gamemasters

Are there any good 2nd edition books that are not rule/system heavy but resource books of topics like Bretonnia, Elves etc? I'm in no mood for rule conversions so this part of the book is basically scrap paper to me.

Sigmar's Heirs is a good overall guide to the Empire and its political and social divisions.

Knights of the Grail, A Guide to Bretonnia (Bretonnia)

Realm of the Snow Queen (Kislev)

Sigmar's Heirs (the Empire)

Realms of Sorcery (Arcane Magic)

Tome of Salvation (Divine Magic)

the WFRP Companion (the Empire)

Tome of Corruption (Chaos)

They all have rules, but the amount of background info is always helpful. Even if you don't do rules conversion the magic and chaos books should give you plenty of ideas. Hopefully we'll see a good corruption deck printed in the near future, but until then the gigantic tables in the Tome of Corruption are still quite usable.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, it's a bit funny to let FFG reprint all of these resources in cards and sheets and box them into $30 packages.

I guess it will be 10 boxes before all of this is covered.

The Career Compendium and Shades of Empire. Both premium books.

Career compendium is LUSH with details beyond the old percentile system.

jh

Pretty much all of them are useful.

Lots of information and description.
Lots of plot hooks, ideas.

And any new careers or Beasties could be easily converted over.
Might not have special cards for them, but so what, write em out. Does the GM really need flashy cards for all the mobs?

Realm of Sorcery, Tome of Salvation, Tome of corruption etc. are great for overviews of Magic, Preists and Chaos.
Night Dark mistresses, Childredn ofthe Horned Rat for undead and Skaven
Sigmars heirs, Realm of the Ice Queen, Terror at Talabheim etc. for areas and cities
Even the Adventures have lots of details, and plots.

All that is missing are the mob stats in 3rd Ed format.
Not a big deal once youve GM'ed a couple of times.

Oh yeah I almost forgot; www.amazon.com/Liber-Chaotica-Complete-mysteries-Warhammer/dp/1844163946/ref=sr_1_3

Not a RPG book but a great reference for all things Chaos Gods-ey. Hey look a softcover print is out!

(Its also a hilarious read.)

Yes. Well remmebered.

Others are available too. battles of the Empire, armies of the empire, the vile ratmen etc.
And the Witch Hunters handbook, Life of Sigmar etc.

May need to get some via ebay though.
