shifting out of terrain

By Budgernaut, in Runewars Rules Questions

Not a question, but something I noticed tonight while perusing the rules. If you shift out of terrain, you can't place your unit's back edge touching the terrain. It has to be a side or front edge touching the terrain. Had this come up in a game, I probably would have ruled this incorrectly. Since you can shift in any direction, I would have assumed you could shift forward like a march and have your back edge touching the terrain. I'm glad I read this before making that mistake.

I only know this because it got Ardus killed during a game with @playnwin .

If you accidentally shift out of terrain and someone charges in, it's a free flank. Whoops.

I didn't know that either. It's strange seeing the way a shift is done outside terrain.

On the plus side, if you survive the first attack and shift away, it will be hard for him to follow you.
