Hi

I'm, new so i wanted to mskae sure i'm reading this card right to make sure i'm doing it right.

The card is Datasucker

Program : Virus • Install: 1 • Memory: 1 • Influence: 1

Whenever you make a successful run on a central server, place 1 virus counter on Datasucker.

Hosted virus counter: Rezzed piece of ice currently being encountered has -1 strength until the end of the encounter.

so am i reading this right that once you have made a successful run on the HQ you put a virus counter on it and all Ice that you go up against after that is at -x strength where x is the number of virus counters?

See the “Paid Abilities” callout box on the upper corner of page 11 of the Core Set rulebook.

In a nutshell, anything phrased as “ this : that” is a Paid Ability, and the prefix is the cost that must be paid for the suffix to occur.

Put another way, with the card Magnum Opus, would you expect that you get $2 at all times when you have one ⏱?
