Star Wars: Revan's War IC

Silun gives a wave of his hand at the newcomer. "I'm Silun, I'm the pilot of this as yet unnamed luxury liner."

His dewflaps raise into a quick smile, and then he looks back to the group as a whole. "Well, we're about 7 or 8 days out from Cathar. I'm going to take that time to get to know our new ship a little better. While I'm exploring, I'll keep an eye out for anything out of place."

" It would be good to check of they added anything in the rebuild of this ship." Zoroku says to Silun as he brings up exploring the ship, when he finishes his soup he puts down the bowl " I wasn't on this ship long enough to help you with that however." He stands up and takes his bowl to the sink and begins to wash it.

The next day saw Armatta down in the Skydancer's workshop after breakfast, looking for parts for the construction of a specialised scanner. After an hour's search, she realised that she might be able to cobble together something usable, but it likely wouldnt last more than a day or two at the most. I probably could construct a very nice lightsabre down here, but not much else that'll actually last.

One hour of careful work (and numerous curses) later, her very ad hoc hand scanner lay on the workshop bench.

Time to see how curious people are about us ...

Armatta spent the rest of the day (Coruscant time) going over the entire starship, crawling into every nook and crannny possible and running her scanner over everything that she could reach.

By the time dinner rolled around, she was tired, sweaty, and very dusty. After a shower and change of clothes, Armatta entered the lounge and slapped two different pieces of electronics down on the dining table.

"Interested parties have left some souvenirs on board the Skydancer . This one," she said, pointing at one of the innocuous-looking items, "was attached to our astrogation navicomputer. I think that it's recording our route. The other one was part of the packing material in a crate of dehydrated nerf steaks. And that's just what I did manage to find. My personal inclination is to destroy them, but it might be a good idea first to see if we can figure out who put them there."

"Hm. Are they even placed there by the same party? We could be tracked by the Republic and someone else. We could jettison these en route - though I'm not sure about the physics of discarding objects while in hyperspace. The trackers may have already one their job." Krios' brow furled and he stroked his chin.

Zoroku looks at the device picking it up off the desk, " No..." He pauses as he looks at the device and ponders on what Krios said, glancing at him then looks to Armatta, " Destroy it and you do not learn, We must take it apart carefully, see if in doing that we may learn of how it functions ." He hands it to Armatta, " Either it sent our flight information as we input our flight path, or it sends a message back when we arrive. Until we know that we should not destroy it."

As the group is gathered together investigating the devices, Silun approaches from the direction of the engine room. His robes are quite disheveled, and has a large grease smudge along the top of his head. In spite of that, he is smiling and seems unaware of his appearance. "Ah, good, you found some more! This little stowaway was tucked under a pipe under the engine room floor."

He slides an additional tracker onto the table to join its co conspirators. His interest is then drawn to the jury rigged scanner.

"Oh, that's what you were using, I had wondered what that piece of tech you were toting around the ship was. This is cool, is it built out of... lightsaber parts?"

" Whoever has installed these is interested in this ship. If we have found two already then they were planning on these being found, another Scan of the ship would not be uncalled for." He says as Silun brings another device to the groups attention. " Given this ones location it should only work by giving a location once we arrive. The other found under the astrogation console requires proper investigation."

"This is all Very concerning..." Ive would enter the room they were all in, walking in her slow steady cadence. "I would also suggest that we be as prepared as we can when we come out of Hyperspace." She would look over to Zoroku.

"Part of which means I need to treat your wounds... Follow me." The way she said that last part didn't leave much room for arguement.

He follows Ive out of the room without a word.

They approach one of the Captains quarters and there is a crudely painted on Red Cross. She would open it stepping to the side motioning him in. Inside was a makeshift "Med Bay".

"Right this way Zoroku."

The Chiss follow her into Medical and turns to her, since there were going to be in hyperspace for a week Zoroku was only wearing his robes for this second day on board and not his full armor. He reveals the wound on his chest being mostly healed from the work Ar matta had done, but it still looked like some burnt tissue was there on the Chiss' muscular chest. " Like I had said earlier, Armatta had healed me mostly yesterday all that is left is scar tissue i believe."

Looking over the remainder of the wound, Ive would nod. "Let's see if I cant make you any more comfortable." Pulling out her med kit she would get to work.

As the jedi work and commune over the next few days, they receive the first chance to relax and recuperate since the attack on Fornost. Since then it had been political intrigue, backstabbing and assassination. Despite the stakes of their destination, it was easy to forget about such things when trapped in hyperspace,

Eventually, all things must come to an end though. Silun receives an alarm from the console in the cockpit, and moments later the ship smoothly slips out of hyperspace. Once more they are surrounded by the deep blue of space and the glimmer of stars in the far off distance. From here you can almost make out the other planets of the Queli sector, according to the navigation computer these were Queli itself, Dathomir and Halmad.

The planet directly ahead however was their target, Cathar. The planet was grey-green in colour, no ship traffic to or from that the jedi could see. Even before they arrived, they knew it was a dead world. Revan had revealed during the mandalorian war the the republic had covered up the near total extinction of the native species. At the hands of the madnalorians they had been butchered, the planet and cities bombed from orbit. The scale of death and destruction was almost impossible to compare to.

The day after finding the three trackers, Armatta spent several hours again in the workshop.

She re-surfaced briefly at lunch time, eating a sandwich while tracing circuit diagrams on a datapad and muttering distractedly to herself. Ive looked at her with some concern, and then followed her back to the workshop after lunch.

Armatta barely noticed Ive's presence as she hunched herself over the delicate electronics, but she did ask Ive to hold some clamps manually while Armatta carefully dripped a cleaning solution over a chip. "I don't trust the workshop's equipment to do it properly, including retracting the chip in time if the solution proves to be too strong. The equipment's meant for lightsabres after all, and they tend to be pretty durable," she explained. At least they are if you don't slam them aginst the corner of a steel desk like Zoroku did, she amended to herself internally.

"Oh!" Armatta then exclaimed with some pleasure, "That did the trick!" She let the chip dry, then brought it under the microscope scanner. "That's interesting. And different."

Stretching to relieve the crick in her neck, she smiled with satisfaction. "Thank you for the help, Ive! We now have some information to relay to the others."

...

That evening at dinner, Armatta displayed the three chips to everyone.

"The two trackers which I found both have Republic markers on the circuit boards, probably from manufacturing. As for their origins, I'm thinking Republic Intelligence or something like that. However, the one that Silun found," she nodded at him, "I can't identify, mainly because it appears to be home-made. It probably doesn't have that great a range in comparison to the other two."

She drummed her fingers briefly on the table while pursing her lips in thought.

"I have a theory or two about the outlier. The easy one is that some pirate's stooge at the spaceport planted it on the off-chance that the ship could be stolen at a later date. However, I'm tending towards another possibility, based upon what Carth Onasi said to me two days ago: ' I may have been put on leave after the incident at the Admiralty building. I wasn't trying to investigate the spaceport!'

"In retrospect, it sounds like he had already tried to investigate some things at the spaceport before we met; maybe he'd managed to put his own tracker on board before Security realised that he wasn't there on official business.

"My own inclination is to destroy the two Republic trackers, but not the third one. That's assuming that Onasi is still feeling helpful - and will be close enough to help at some point.

"What's the general consensus?" Armatta looked curiously around at everyone else. "We need to decide before we reach Cathar."

Silun nods in agreement. "The republic trackers definitely need to go, although the damage may have already been done by the one on the nav consol. Nothing we can do about that now, though. As for the other one, I don't really know. It might be Carth, or any number of other interested people."

"The Republic keeping tabs on our location may be helpful - if we get into trouble whey might be able to send help. Or is this a we go all in sorta situation?" Krios asked. "They'll know we took the ship at some point and probably where we went, so we're not really saving ourselves of their scrutiny in the end."

Wiping sweat from her brow she would smile as she clenched her hands together a few times as they were starting to cramp from holding the chips. "I am very glad that I was able to be of help to you Miss Tano'bi and I hope to continue to prove useful for you and the rest of the Crew. Zoroku is healing up quite well I might add." Ive's voice was that calm cadence the entire time she spoke, and always spoke at the same relaxed speed like a teacher or mother to a child and it always had a hint of happiness to it. Ive would bow to Armatta before turning to leave placing her hands in the opposite sleeve.

Zoroku would listen to the evidence brought before him on the trackers. 'If these are Republic trackers then it could be best to leave them, I could use Republic interference as a way to keep my nose clean for the Syndicure Handler. If I am not the one to capture Karath directly it could help me.' He thought as the others continued to discuss before him he then shook his head as he realized his mistake. 'No... they would likely condemn my father to death for such a oversight on my part. One or more of these trackers must be destroyed to show I was at least trying to give Karath a chance of escape. The mission is also to clear the Jedi Order, the capture must be done by us Jedi for the mission I was tasked with to be a success.' Zoroku continued the mental debate between himself, the mission would need to progress perfectly if he was to capture Karath and get the Ascendancy to think that he was on their side trying to let Karath go free.

As soon as he had reached a course of action he spoke up. "The mission from the Order was for us to capture the traitor Admiral, not the Republic, Letting them reach Karath and capture him for us could possibly harm our chances of redeeming the order in the Senate's eyes. It is my opinion that we destroy the Republic Trackers, but if you...' He looks to Armatta "...Think that the last tracker is Onasi's we could use his help, he seemed willing to aid us and not steal credit from the Jedi who did most of the Hunting."

Ive would listen to everything that was said so far then would nod. "Zoroku's words on the matter are sound. I also believe that Maybe the short range one might have been meant for us to find and then stop searching since if I am not mistaken it was in the easiest location to find."

She would turn to Zoroku with a gentle smile. "Are you feeling any better?"

Zoroku turns to Ive, " Yes i am feeling better. Thank you for your healing Yesterday." His reply was short and to the point the Chiss as usual did not have much tone to his Voice, but those who were used to his Monotone way of speaking would know that he was Grateful.

In response to the expectant looks her way, Andja weighs in on the subject of the trackers that had been discovered

”Without conclusive evidence, my preference would be to jettison all tracking devices, as soon as possible.”

Our mission, though obvious, is deniable.. could be blamed on a group of reckless initiates, without council backing.. don’t think any cavalry will be coming to save us... when did I become so cynical..?!
