Kataddik leaps head-long into the fray, striking with both blades once again, but they sail just over their targets’ heads, just missing.

Edited by Tramp Graphics

Walden saw the opening to the hangar and took a leap towards it. He makes it through easily, but sees K-1SO as he jumps. K won't make it with that trajectory.

Seeing a piece of scaffolding he could hang on for a bit, Walden grabs both that piece and K-1SO's arm.

"Got you, K." he says as he pushes K-1SO up a bit to correct his descent. "See you on the way there."

As Kataddik continues with his attack on the sith, the republic soldiers would turn their sights on the sith who had tried to destroy them with grenades. A few of them would move to fill the spaces of the dead as a pair of troops do what they can to drag the sergeant out of the firing line. It will do him little good, but the cynic would notice they need the space he had occupied to fight back. Perhaps it was the brutality of the attack against them, but their response was brutal. One of the sith would catch a couple of rounds to the chest, knocking off his feet wile a few of the others take some glancing shots that pound into their armour. Their armour was tough though, and it was going to take a lot to knock them down.

The troops that had initially fled from Kataddik finally made their decision. With a shout they would run back into the fray, firing as they went. The shots fortunately go high as they try to avoid hitting their allies. Unfortunately for the wookie though, the shots cause a shower of spark to rain down on him, scalding him as they do. He had well and truly become the full attention of the sith here.

While this is happening, the sith that Kataddik was fighting would adapt to their situation. Dropping their rifles with a clang they would reach for the combat knives that were housed in their belts. Their chances of survival were slim, but they were increased when using the proper tools. They would lunge at the jedi, surrounding him as they slashed and stabbed at his torso and arms. One of the blades would manage to find a gap in the defence that had been raised by Oola, slicing through his arm, leaving a shallow above his elbow. As the injury distracts him, one of the sith would grab at his arm while another two slam him into the corridor wall. The impact of the attack causes him to lose grip on his lightsaber, sending it skittering into the floor between their feet. It was impressive to watch, regular soldiers taking on a powerful being such as a jedi this way.

As the fighting goes on elsewhere, Gaze and Muu would round the corner to the engineering deck, but would run into trouble. Before moving into sight of the door, Muu hears something, voices and footsteps heading towards him and his friend. Before he can do anything they would walk slap bang into a squad of five sith troopers leaving the area. 'Hey, who-' one of them would begin, but would save his breath for the fight ahead.

On the main station, Gaze and K1-SO had successfully made their way into the shuttle hanger for the dry dock in that sector, albeit with the droid nearly plunging into the abyss once again. Thanks to the battle going on in front of them, none of the sith had spotted them, for now at least. As their line advances slowly the jedi ad companion would have a chance to look around the environment properly. The cranes they had seen now stood tall on either side of them, the control mechanisms housed in small glass compartments at the base for a engineer to operate them from. Some of the sith had employed dull grey riot shield, using them to bolster the line as they attack the bedraggled republic soldiers. They looked a sorry state, most of their numbers had been wiped out already, and soon they would break entirely. As well as a few crates, barrels and pipes that had been scattered about from work, both sith shuttles were still in the hanger, facing inwards from where they had landed. If the pair wanted to save the soldiers and civilians they protected, they'd have to do something fast.

Gaze wouldn't spot the troopers until they almost literally smacked into each other. He didn't really have time to set himself properly, without really thinking, he flicked his saber towards a nearby maintenance panel, cutting the lock off it, then grabbed the metal plate and swung it on it's hinges into the face of the lead trooper. The metallic clang reverberated through the hallway, and Gaze scrabbled to brace himself for battle.

"I really am exceedingly graceful, in standard gravity.." Kai-wan remarks, defensively. He then proceeds to mutter to himself in machine language, about training in zero-g.. basically the droid equivalent of promising himself he's going start working out more.

As they attain the hangar proper, K-1 softly resumes intelligible conversation: "The shuttles? Or do you think we can do more damage with the cranes?"

Is he here? While awaiting a reply from his Jedi ally, the droid consults his hardened comlink, attempting to listen in on Master Lun Pyra's old frequency.

Zoroku seeing the combat escalate relayed that it was to late for him to try sneaking around the enemy, while the enemy squads were having trouble with Kattadik for now this would likely not hold for long. He charged to the squad nearest him and pressed the attack, while his opponents were able to keep him at bay they weren't able to get away from him either, in fact his attack was so aggressive it put them on their back feet " Oola, shield Kattadik once more." He would bark his order while he was engaged in the fight with the sith troops noticing she was still shell shocked from the death of the boy who saved her.

Soon as the young padawan heard minor footsteps near engineering, a group of sith troopers startlingly walked into the pair's blindside. Muu yells to Gaze " Ambush! " as he ignites his green crossguard once more. Vigilantly, the Iktotchi was able to hasty thrust his saber straight into the chest of the first trooper's armor before the blasters began to fire. Quickly returning to a defensive stance, Muu notices two troopers taking aim at Gaze. The padawan recklessly dives between the pair swinging his lightsaber hoping to disrupt their focus. The niman rapidly swings upward into one trooper's blaster continuing into his torso and spins around to strike the others legs. The Iktotchi stood between the remaining troopers line of sight in hopes of capturing their full attention.

Activating a crit and dealing 9 damage

"The shuttles are too obvious; they might have guards," Walden replied to K-1SO. "However...that crane might do some damage, since they're not expecting it with the line of shielded troopers. Let's hit them with that."

"I'll take control of the crane on the right. May the Force be with you." I'll just have to manage...

"May the Force be with you, too." Walden replies as he grips his lightsaber. Wait for the crane...then it's time to be in the eye of the storm.

Back on Corouscant Kavar would nod as both padawans respond. Kavar may have never really spoken to these padawans before, but he knew a good deal of them thanks to the briefing that resulted in this meeting. Ryff Monotu, an exemplary student who was showing signs of excellent mental fortitude and had aided by the jedi code as well as many of his superiors. He was well n his way to being one of the jedi's seers if he had the patience for it, perhaps even a teacher one day.

Raithe Arlen, now she was a different story. Another criminal who a jedi had seen the potential for redemption and great things in. He was inclined to disagree with the negative views of masters such as Vrook Lamar, and agree with her master. She had a quick mind and a good head on her shoulders. Assuming that she was able to prove herself worthy, she may well end up as one of the many jedi watchmen scattered throughout the galaxy.

Kavar would smily kindly at the pair as he speaks. 'You have both been on missions with your masters before, but now it is time for you both to attempt one without their supervision. 'Corouscant has seen an increase black market trade, and as jedi it is our responsibility to investigate this. If possible quell it completely. The council wants the pair of you to investigate however you see fit. I would recommend starting at the docks of the lower levels and proceeding from there'. At this is face would grow serious. 'This will be a difficult mission padawans, one where subtlety will be important, be careful. Is there any questions before you leave?

"Yes master, do we know what kind of black market dealings have been going on?" Ryff asks out of the need for caution.

Ryff thinks for a little while then inquires, "Is there any key suspects you want us to investigate?"

With or without the help of the High Council, Raithe knew she was capable of figuring out who the suspects were. However, she wasn't about to throw away a good head-start if the Council was willing to provide it. Raithe listened attentively, awaiting Master Kavar's response.

As one of the sith troopers staggers back from the impact with the door; clutching at his helmet, a pair of his allies would grab him by the shoulder to steady him before their numbers are quickly cut down by Muu. Using their carbines and rifles as clubs they try to strike down the jedi, but their efforts are easily dodged and blocked by the jedi. Those hits that do find a mark glance of the jedi armour that keeps him well protected. One of the sith charges the jedi, tackling him about the waist as he is unceremoniously dumped onto the floor with a dull thump. As Muu looks up, he would see the sith aiming down the sight of his gun, about to end the young jedi's life.

One of the remaining sith would scramble to activate his com, shouting into it through his helmet. 'My lord! The jedi! They're here on the ship, heading for the engineering room!' Neither Muu or Gaze would hear the response to the call for help, but someone else would. Kai-Wan would hear a low, almost metallic voice through the heavy static of his com. 'Keep them there, I am on my way. Do not fail me'. Whoever it was, where they were, they were using the frequency as his former master.

While this is going on, Zoroku would receive a message on his com. 'Jedi! Where are you?' it wasn't the commander this time, in fact it was not a voice he had heard before. 'If you guys don't get to the command centre now, there'll be nothing left to save! Do what it takes but hurry! If we lose this we lose the station and the ships!'

Back on Corouscant, Kavar would smile at the padawans. It was good to see that they were asking appropriate questions to help with the mission. Too many are willing to charge ahead without pause for thought. 'Good questions. Most of the imports to the black market seem to be weapons and spice. They are the largest contributors to the problem here on Corouscant. As to who we suspect, we are not yet sure. This new source has been unchecked, so we are still learning. Maybe a dock worker or official is taking bribes. I recommend a subtle approach, do not flaunt your jedi title, or you will spook any criminals that see you. Any other questions?'

Gaze gets his bearings after the surprise encounter, his saber already out. He watches Muu move to protect him, only to end up on the ground with his life being threatened. Gaze didn't really remember thinking on a conscious level about what he did next. He felt himself grow still, like he'd been taught, and his body flowed forward, taking in the angles and distances to his targets. He didn't like using a saber, and a lot of people thought that meant he wasn't skilled in it's use. Hardly. The lack of a desire to harm others, isn't the same as a lack of ability, ability that he put on display now. His training played to his analytical strengths, all about "doing the math" of the situation, focusing on an intelligent application of force in the right places, rather than relying on brute strength. He stepped forward, turning the blade in his hand, cutting a nearby panel, sending sparks out to distract the two troopers not currently about to shoot his ally. He swung his blade up through the soldiers arm holding the gun on Muu, and then across and through his chest. Gaze absentmindedly cataloged the injuries he was inflicting on his target, knowing full well the blow was fatal. He tried to quiet that part of his mind as he continued with the stroke, slicing through the next of the three before him. He spun around, slowly descending as he did, making two separate strikes through his body, the parts sliding down in a wet splash. The last one was bifurcated upwards, as it was the most efficient strike from Gaze's position.

In a matter of seconds, it was over. Gaze stood there quietly for the span of two heartbeats, and then promptly leaned to the side and threw up.

Kai-wan is muttering to himself in machine language again. This time it is about trading in his frame for a nice sleek astromech body, as he struggles with the controls within the confined space of the crane operation box.

Hailing his comrades heading for Engineering, on their private channel: "A most unpleasant sounding fellow, addressed as Lord, is heading your way. I advise haste." He also distributes the confirmed frequency of the enemy communications.

Oola replied to the Soldier with enthusiasm Something coming right up! She brought one hand into the air and the pinky-purple bolts enveloped the whole of the Troops makeshift cover. Just before dropping back down she directed a short invisible burst of static towards the aholes that had kiled the young lad. It wasn't much not even enough they would feel it, she wouldn't use her connection with the Force like that again, but it might just give them a nasty surprise of they tried that boom trick again.

Zoroku answers his comm while he is engaged with a Sith trooper, " We are currently engaged with the enemy just outside the Command Center, What has become of the Admiral?" He would continue to pressure the squad as to keep it from harming Oola and her troopers. Spying Kattadik in his own engagement across the hall he would see a Trooper attempting an attack from behind that could very well end the Wookies's life, " Kattadik, behind you, he's going for your Neck!"

It wasn't until being tackled down by Sith and looking back up down the barrel of a blaster did Muu realize he was mortal the entire day. Unsure of his fate, Gaze within moments heroically comes to the Iktotchi's rescue to his surprise. Once his fellow padawan melted the blaster pointing directly into his face with a lightsaber, Muu scrambles to get up in his awkward orange spacesuit off the floor. Observing Gaze's final strike on the last trooper, Muu briefly makes eye contact and nods to notify he's safe just before the human got sick.

After allowing Gaze a moment to breathe, Muu looks around saying, " Let's disable this hyperdrive " trying to not stare at the surrounding corpses. It was the first time Muu had taken a life and assumed it was Gaze's as well. Promptly receiving a message from the unfamiliar voice of Kai-wan, he looks to Gaze for a reaction registering the fact more conflict is on the way.

Edited by Vergence

Gaze leans and takes deep breaths for a few moments, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. He turns, his human skin paler than it was a few moments before, and nods to Muu's comment. "Yes, hyper and conventional, can't let them use it out there." He points in the general direction of the area in space, where the starship battle had taken place. He closes down his saber, and clips it to his belt.

Walden headed towards the crane to the left, seeing that the enemy troopers needed to get cleared out first before he could safely get into the melee. Let's see what we can do.

He took a crate off of a spot and tries to swing it at the enemy troopers. It seemed that in the excitement, a trigger must have been pulled as Walden moved the crate about, because the crate sailed right over the heads of the riot troopers. At least it landed in a position for the Republic troopers to get cover from.

As Muu and Gaze walk through the unlocked door to the engineering level, they would find themselves engulfed in a dimly lit cavern that housed the heart of the Interdictor cruiser. They were stood on a narrow walkway that was suspended over an inky blackness below, and to their sides reactors and all manner of technical machinery was illuminated by carefully placed flood lights. There were some walkways similar to the one they stood on visible above, although the lack of light made if impossible to see what was below them. Up ahead of them the floor widened to make a large circle, and running around the rim of this was a bank of computer terminals and consoles. Crouched int he centre of this with their back to them was a pair of sith soldiers. Both had removed their helmets, and one had removed a panel to a terminal and was elbow deep on circuitry and wires. It was likely that this was the controls for the ships engineering level, perhaps the soldiers were trying to effectively hotwire the cruiser from here to assist those on the bridge.

Meanwhile Zoroku would get a frustrated response on the com. 'She's injured, it may be bad, I don't know, I'm not a doctor! Look, you need to get here, there's some guy with one of your weapons and he's carving our men up! Hurry!'

In the dry dock hanger, the container that had been hurled by the crane would hit the floor with a terrific clang. It would buckle under the impact, one section the its roof crumpling slightly although its integrity just about remained.

As it slides across the floor with a screech, most eyes would turn to focus on the crane, and the jedi inside of it. The republic officer in charge would raise a hand as he she shouts to her men. 'The jedi are here! Hold this line!' She wore the uniform of the naval forces that had been on the station, while her men were a mixture of spaceport security and marines who had been to hand. With a mighty battle cry they would continue to fight back, a flurry of red bolts striking their foes. A few would suffer minor injuries, and a couple would fall as they attempt to hold their own line but it would do little to halt the advance.

Of course the Sith in their superior numbers were not about to give up, and would continue to focus their fire on the republic. Despite the cover of the container, yet another marine would suffer a fatal shot from the sith. Their armour simply wasn't of the same quality as their enemy, and it left them vulnerable in a firefight like this. Most of the sith units would focus their fire on the Republic units, cutting down a couple more soldiers with brutal efficiency.

One squad would turn to focus fire on Walden as he operates the crange. He would find himself showered in shards of glass as they fire on the cap, plasma bolts punching into the metal frame around him as his earns a number of minor injuries from the glass.

Back on Coruscant, Master Kavar would shake his head. 'Considering how fresh this information is, we have not had time to create convincing identities for you. You will be relient on your stealth and wits to identify the criminals'. He would pause before continuing. 'Be warned, this will be used by the council as a test of your abilities, and your future roles in the order. A speeder will be waiting outside the temple for you, may the force be with you',
