Ryff under the close tutelage of his master would begin to see flickers, flashes of the future. He saw the sun setting before it happened, the courtyard growing quiet. He saw a large chamber filled with jedi in hooded robes, the walls lined with torches. Master Vash is stood before them, saying something that he cannot hear. Suddenly he is brought back to the present. He would see his master, and Kattadik near by.

As Ryff's attention came back to the present, he says, "I saw Master Vash within a large chamber filled with hooded Jedi. Master Vash said something but I could not hear her. All I could see about the chamber was that the walls were lined with torches. What does this mean,Master? What does this have to with the investigation?" Ryff sees Kattadik and asks, "Hi, Kattadik, how are you?"

aguhwwgggghhh wrrhw,” Kataddik growled. “aaaaahnr huurh aarrragghuuhw huurh?”

Greetings. Mind if I join you?

The old jedi sat across from Gaze would hum for a moment with a faint frown on his face. 'I sense that is not the entire truth padawan. You seem to be conflicted about something, that much I can sense'. A look of realisation would come across the assistants face. 'You must be one of the padawans who went to Foerost'. He would pause as he considers this. 'That must have been tough to go through. I heard that the station was nearly destroyed'.

In Zoroku's room, the console would project a small holgram on its surface at in response to the Chiss activating it. The hologram was of a Chiss dressed in military attire, though it wasn't that of the Republic. The Chiss looked to be in his mid to late thirties, and was clean shaven with his hair cropped short. When he speaks he does not speak republic basic, but a language that no one else would recognise. It was native to the Chiss ascendancy, Cheunh.

'Agent Splint' he would say in a serious tone, referring to Zoroku. 'Please wait for a secure channel'. The hologram would flicker for a moment and there would be a low whining noise. When this has ended the Chiss is still stood there. 'Agent Splint I am contacting you for a progress report on your mission'.

While this is happening Raithe's masters would smile approvingly at the response. 'Is that what they're calling it now? Anyway, come with me'. Mastr Varr would lead Raithe out onto the steps of the temple. She would sit down on the second step and gesture for Raither to join her. It would be fairly quiet here, with only a few jedi passing up and down the steps every now often.

As they sit there she would begin to explain the power to her. 'The mind trick as you call it, it's tricky. A lot of jedi dislike its use, the ability to control someones mind is a powerful skill. If abused, it can be dangerous'.

With the warning out of the way Varr would continue. 'We'll begin easy. You can't just jump straight into telling someone what to do. You have to start subtle. Instead of projecting a thought or a command, begin with an emotion. Through the force you can take an emotion, a feeling, and you can project it outwards to someone near by. Unfortunately there's not really a way to test the power outside of the field'. She would let out a laugh at this. 'Testing force powers on passers by will only get you in trouble, believe me'.

She clears her throat before turning slightly to better face Raithe. 'Now, close your eyes. Picture an emotion, let's try happiness. Picture it, remember it, focus on it. When you have control over that one emotion, reach out with the force. Reach out for a mind, and spread that feeling to the target. I know that there isn't a target, but let's try the first part'.

He would pause as he considers this. 'That must have been tough to go through. I heard that the station was nearly destroyed'.

Gaze's mouth would tighten a little at the reminder, but nods. "Get sent out there, told by the staff that it's basically a spacedog and spacepony show, with no real purpose other than public relations, and suddenly we're being attacked by a force of Dark Side users, intent on destroying everything. " He chuckles a little bit, his tone that kind of amused that really isn't amused, but one used when the person doesn't really know how they fell about something. "I get attacked by a crazy guy with a mask fetish and a terrible sense in fashion, tossed down a shaft to my death, though that was avoided....oh yeah, and I killed three people. Something totally against everything I've spent my life learning to do." He looks up at the Jedi and shrugs a bit, his tone tired and a little confused. "So yeah, 'tough to go through' sums it up pretty well."

Ryff's master would rub his chin in thought at his padawans questions. 'Unfortunately I cannot answer that. It may have nothing to do with your mission. You are still learning to use your powers. Only time will tell'.

As Kataddik joins them he would gesture to him to sit with them. 'I don't think we've met. I am Master Vune, who are you?'

Master Sellas would open one eye as he sits cross legged by one of the deeper pools. He would smile at Walden as he streches, cracking his back. 'I've heard some of what happened, but the council is playing a lot of it close to their chest. I'm glad you're ok'.

He would listen to Waldens question, and lean foward to glance into the pool. He would not look at his padawan as he speaks. 'Partly. I'd heard stories about the hyperspace wars. I knew if I went to war I would see things, do things that could never be undone. I knew that even if the council welcomed us, I wouldn't be able to come back. But I trusted Revan, I really did. I believed him when he said that it was the right thing to do, but', he would sigh at this before continuing. 'It wasn't my place to decide. When I joined the order, I became part of something bigger. The council made their decision, for the good of the republic, the galaxy. I had to trust them, or throw away everything I had become.

He'd look up at his padawan with a sad look on his face. 'I'm sorry that you saw what you did at Foerost. I'm sorry for what I fear you will see in the coming days. It was unlike Sellas to be so serious, dark even.

"...It's alright."

Those were the words Walden could say at that moment. Master Sellas had been thinking about this for quite some time. Guess we both need some time to get this sorted out.

Walden stared at the pool as well. If Zoroku is right and it's Revan that has come back...I'll need to be prepared.

"Master, question. I remember that there was someone that was excellent at teaching others to suppress the Force. I seem to have forgot the name. Do you remember?"

The old man would listen carefully to what Gaze had to say, nodding from time to time. 'You should speak about how you feel to your master, or your friends. A jedi should not keep these thoughts bottled up. That can lead to a dangerous path indeed' he would warn, nodding knowingly. 'Jedi do not have to carry their burdens alone'.

Master Vune would nod in turn to Kataddik's introduction. 'Well Kataddik, student of Kitanai Rojin, you are welcome to join us if you wish. We are currently studying the use of some different force powers. Would you like to join us in practice?'

As he sat by the pool Master Sellas's master would perk up a little as he grins at his student. 'Well I may not be as good as some of the other jedi in the temple, but I can teach you the basics. It is my responsible to teach you after all. I can't just palm you off onto another master!' He would follow this up with a laugh as he pushes himself to his feet. 'Come on, lets give this a go'.

Meanwhile, somewhere across the galaxy the young cadet would glance at the pair on the floor beside their escape pod. 'Security clearance?' he would say in a bewildered voice. 'Look, you shouldn't really be here, this area is restricted'. It was as he stood there that he noticed something on Oola's belt, her lightsaber. 'Wait, are you a jedi? What are you doing here?'

Yes Master. Master Rojin is not in the temple and is not likely to return any time soon I'm afraid. The mission we just completed has revealed a severe weakness in my capabilities in the Force.

"Did the droid ******* stutter?! Get me someone with a ounce of authority here now boy."

Oola was in a bad mood. Her head hurt, and she didn't see why she had to suffer it alone.

Kai-wan gestures expansively toward their escape pod. "Our transport, and subsequent landing site, were quite beyond our control. I am not authorized to discuss mission details with you further. Please escort us to the Academy, Cadet, before the unique local fauna takes an interest in our arrival?"

Gaze smiles sadly. "If he were here, I would love to speak to him, sadly that is not the case." He stands up and gathers his things. "The good thing about a teacher though, is their lessons go with you, even when they cannot." He bows to the elder. "I appreciate your concern Master, but I will be alright. Though I probably should see what is happening with my companions before things get crazy again. May the Force be with you."

Any happy little thought? Raithe thinks to herself. She imagines the Sith and the Revanists ceasing to exist. The Jedi knew no more threats thanks to her epic Sentinel skills. Raithe knew it was just wishful thinking. There would always be someone who opposed the Order whether they be on the streets or in the Order itself. She continued to go deeper. Her master was proud of her and the Jedi Council no longer had any lingering doubts that she belonged.

"Got it," Raithe told Master Varr.

"Whenever you're ready, Master."

Master Vune would not approvingly to Korath's review of his abilities. 'Well, to be a good jedi, you must face your weaknesses. What is it you want to improve on? I'm sure that we can help you there' he would say, gesturing to himself and Ryff.

The elderly jedi in the library would rise in unison with Gaze, stooping slightly. 'I am here to serve' he would say with a genuine smile. 'May the force be with you'. With that he would shuffle off to one of the numerous banks of data pads that made up the formidable jedi archives. There were many jedi in the temple who were more than happy to help the younger generations, if they ever needed it.

In the gardens of the temple Master Sellas would take a wide stance as he explains the basic principles of force suppression to his student. 'The force flows through all things. Me, you, that guy who sells the suspicious street meat near the temple, everything. A jedi can interact with the force as it flows throughout the galaxy, and if you grab the currents, you can shield yourself from them. if you practice enough you will be able to cancel out attacks and other uses entirely. You need an iron will though Walden, it is not something everyone can achieve'.

With that Waldnes master would reach out with a hand as he closes his eyes. 'Let's try it now. I am going to read your mind, unless you can a repel me using the force'.

On the steps of the temple Raithe would receive a smile from her master. Of course it'll be a little harder when you have to project that emotion into someones mind. It is a power that you can only really learn through using it in the field. You'll get it though, given time'.

With that Varr would stare out at the city scape as she sits next to her pupil. Though the city bustled in the distance, it was quiet around the temple, almost enough to be called peaceful. The sun had begun to set on the day, casting the view in rays of golden light.

Eventually Varr would speak again. 'Are you happy with the jedi Raite? Have you ever thought of what else you could have been?'

The cadet would jump slightly as he is shouted at by the disgruntled padawan. 'Yes, yes sir! Miss, er, ma'am!' With that the boy would turn and dash back down the hill. His shouts can be heard faintly as he goes.

After a while he returns with a small gathering behind him. More cadets of a similar age to him, and at their head an middle aged woman dressed in official military garb. Her face is weather beaten and stern, and her greying hair is tied in a severe bun behind her head. 'It seems you were telling the truth cadet Pleekly' she would state in a clipped accent.

She would march forwards to stand before the pair, examining their escape pod for a moment. 'I am sergeant Hurss, and you have crashed on Ord Carida. Now you may be jedi but I need to ask what you are doing here. This planet is off limits to civilians at the moment'.

That's just it Master, My "weaknesses" pretty much encompass everything in the Force. I know how to enhance my physical abilities to a degree, and can jump pretty far, but that's about it.

This noncom is not going to be intimidated so readily..

"Sergeant. Apologies for our trespass. Our arrival here is happenstance.. simply the only world within range of the pod we.. appropriated."

"We need not stay long, but we do need to contact our command."

Responding in Cheunh , " The Jedi are unwilling to jump to the Republic's aid, I predict that together they can overcome the Sith. If they continue down this path we may have to give up on the republic and Jedi as allies, and instead use them to distract the Sith for long enough while the Ascendancy prepares for the eventual war." He pauses, thinking on his next statement, " However my progress in the ways of the force is rather impressive. Last month I surpassed the age of the Chiss with the longest time in ability with the force, in fact my power has not waned since I was fourteen, if I am able to not just slow down but learn to reverse our children's deterioration of the force... It would be a great boon to our people if I was able to teach use of the force for our self defense." He would scratch his beard as he waited for a response.

"Yeah I am a Jedi, and that means I outrank you so I don't need to do ****. You however need to get me a ship and a pilot to Courascant. If you think that's wrong you can send a complaint to the Republic and I'm sure the Jedi will get round to filing it in the next 100 years. In the meantime chop chop, get the **** on with it."

Oolas head still hurt.

Raithe knew what she would have become if the Jedi had not agreed to take her in. She would've been just another common theif. Maybe she would've eventually joined an underworld syndicate. With her Force abilities, she probably could've been a valuable gang member. Joining the Order gave her a fresh perspective on how to live life. An unselfish perspective. To live a life of service to the galaxy, instead of just being out there for herself. A chance to be more than just simply existing . When she first discovered her powers, she was scared and confused. Raithe had no idea what was happening to her. Joining the Order not only gave her insight to what was going on, but also a sense of serenity that she had never felt before.

To Raithe, the Order represented everything that was good in the galaxy. So when she learned there were forces out there who sought to destroy the Order, she decided she wanted to do all she could to protect it and became a dual-specialized Sentinel. Raithe told this to her master.

With that Waldnes master would reach out with a hand as he closes his eyes. 'Let's try it now. I am going to read your mind, unless you can a repel me using the force'.

Walden calls up the Force to suppress Master Sellas' attempt at reading his mind. As he calls it up, a cold and uncomfortable feeling rises up within him, breaking his concentration for just a moment. But that moment was enough.

The sergeant would bristle at the jedi's comments but would keep her cool. 'Actually young lady that is wrong. The jedi may have fought in the mandalorian wars, and the senate may have the jedi help with law enforcement, but you are not military personal. You do not outrank me and you are currently trespassing on restricted space. If I think something is wrong I can have both of you detained'.

The woman would smooth out her uniform before speaking again. 'Now, the cadets will escort you to the base, but you will explain how you came to crash onto this planet'.

With that the two would lead down the hill that they had landed on. Before too long they passed through a sparse woodland area, brown leaves crunching underfoot. There was a chill in the air as they make their journey. After a while they reach another clearing, a shallow basin at the bottom of the valley. It was here that a sprawling republic military base was set. It looked well built and well staffed, with a large number of cadets moving in small groups as they carry out whatever task they have been set. Arissa and Kai-Wan were lead down to the base where there seemed to be a group waiting for them near the entrance of the base.

On Corouscant the flickering hologram of the Chiss officer would look up at the jedi. He would listen in silence as he talks, and would only respond when Zoroku grew silent. 'There will be no war with the sith. You have been gone too long agent, things have changed. Political shift has meant that it would be unwise at this time for the ascendancy to change allies'. There would be a charged pause. 'That is why your father is not making contact with you. He has been removed from active service indefinitely. As of now, the ascendancy is allies with the empire, and all operations to undermine this are being cancelled. You have new orders agent. The empire has identified the jedi as a key threat, and your position in the order puts you in a unique position. You are to continue studying them and they ways, and to report back any actions that would be of interest to the Chiss or the empire'.

The officer would sigh slightly, a rare sight of emotion from someone of his rank. 'I'm sorry agent. Things change, sometimes nothing can be done about it. If you are loyal, you and your family will come to no harm'. With that, the communication would end, leaving the room as if it had never happened. This could not be what Zoroku wanted to hear, so much work potentially wasted, or not. It really depends on what the jedi is able to make of it.

Master Vune would listen to Kataddik before responding with a light laugh. 'Well as good as I am, I cannot teach you everything you need to know today. However it does sound your master has neglected some of his responsibilities in overseeing your studies in the force'.

Vun would turn to his own padawan expectantly. 'What would you suggest Ryff? What do you think your friend here should focus on?'

On the steps of the temple Raithe's master would sigh, slapping her knees as she stands up. She would smile down at her padawan as she talks in a quiet voice. 'I'm just thinking aloud, don't mind me. I've had some stuff on my mind. Go find your friends, I will talk to later'. Varr would remain on the steps as Raithe goes inside. It was rare to see Varr like this. Something was troubling her, but she would not say what.

Sellas would smile, straightening up slightly. 'Don't worry, it takes practice. Most jedi never master powers like this, but I think you'll get it. You want to try one more time?'

Walden would nod at the chance to try again. "Yeah, one more time."

But still, what was that cold feeling?

Walden prepared for another round of training and tried to call the Force yet again. And that cold and uncomfortable feeling knocked his concentration long enough for Master Sellas to get in.

Gaze wanders aimlessly for a while, until he spots Kal El and Muu nearby. He strolls over, nodding to them. "Hello."

I'm not sure Master. Most of what Master Rojin has been teaching me has been more practical skills to deal with slavers and other criminals. I guess he's been building on my strengths more so than my weaknesses. All I know is All I could do was react to the situation as it occurred and I couldn't get to my lightsaber after I dropped it. I'm willing to learn whatever you think is best.
