Star Wars: Revan's War IC

By Rabobankrider, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny Beginner Game

'Well, you won't find any chaos in this facility' she the nurse would state, bristling at the very thought of it. 'My ward is one of the best in the core'. She would turn to walk around the edge of the ward, seemingly expecting the jedi to follow. She would pause at the foot of each occupied bed, examining the datapads linked to each.

'Of course there is not too much work to be had since the attack. Most injuries are workers acting like children'. This last comment would be specifically aimed at a middle aged man with a broken arm. He looked decidedly sulky at this, turning his head away slightly.

Meanwhile the guards escorting Tiberius would listen to the jedi talk, the first with the sullen look etched on his face. 'Respecting your enemy, nothing to repsect about those scum. Sounds like mando talk. The only good mando is a dead mando' he would state as they carry on.

As the jedi probes about the attack he would suddenly come to a halt. He would turn to face Tiberius, jabbing him roughly in the chest with his finger, his face now twisted in anger. 'Listen jedi, you don't get to ask me about the war. You wren't there, you were too busy hiding in your precious temples while we fought and died for the republic. I don't know why the republic puts up with your kind when you refuse to fight with us'.

'Breka!' the second guard would say in a sharp tone, warning him to shut up. Breka would go silent, glaring at the jedi for what seemed like eternity.

He'd turn back to march down the corridor. 'You just keep your mouth shut jedi if you know what's good for you'.

The second guard would give Tiberius a reproachful look, shaking his head. 'You'll have to forgive him jedi, but he's not wrong. He served in the liberation of Taris, lost a lot of friends there. You'll find quickly most soldiers don't like to talk about what they saw, what they did. You'd be best to let those things lie where they are'.

With that he would continue down the corridor, leading the jedi to the construction floor. They would be close now, the huge expanse of conveyor belts and work shops in sight. The stations had grown quiet now, the majority fo the workers having ended their shift now.

As Muu begins to look for someone to take him to the jedi's quarters, most of the guards had already gone about other business. Only a handful were left at this point. The closest to him was a woman dressed the stations security uniform. She was just about to leave but got caught by the jedi before she could. She looked around, seeing if there was anyone else who could escort the jedi, but they had already made their escape.

She would sigh, shoulders sagging before straightening back up. 'Alright, I mean, yes sir. Right this way'. She would turn to lead him through the maze of alleyways and street vendors till they reached one of the taller building of the area. It looked like a small block of flats you may see on the urban worlds such as Corouscant. the guard would turn to face the jedi as they reach the entrance. 'Here we are, you don't need me to show you the quarters do you?' she would ask.

Gaze would smile a little to himself at her Nurse In Charge behavior, being familiar with it himself on many planets from their local staff. He noted that she didn't give him her name, but follows her around, idly inspecting the patients as they walk by, nodding at them with a disarming smile as he does so.

"Glad to see this place is in good hands then. When we were sent out here to assist, we weren't given any indication of the situation, so I expected to see a facility on the edge of collapse, with the walking wounded shuffling about. It's certainly been the case in plenty locations due to the war." He turns back to the nurse as they continue on the tour. "So do you know why our presence was requested here?" He asks absently, curious for information. "Given the state of this facility, it's clearly not a medical emergency. Is it really just to help build the ships?" His tone sounds a bit puzzled, implying he's not sure why Jedi would be necessary for such an endeavor, given their usual skill sets.

The nurse would give the jedi a disapproving look for a moment. 'The war did not end yesterday young man, we have been able to rebuild most facilities since then. She would replace the datapad in her hand before continuing her rounds. 'This station was deemed vital to the Republic reconstruction efforts, so a lot of funding was put into this place.

She would stop before one of the empty bacta tanks, stooping down to tap on the console before it. 'You don't know why you were sent here?' she would say, only half listening as she focuses on her work. 'It's for public image of course'.

She would pause, having just heard what she said. Straightening up, she would turn to face the jedi fully now. 'It's not really my place to talk about. I am sure there is a reason you were not told'.

Gaze's smile fades and he regards the nurse directly, all sense of his relaxed politeness gone. "I am well aware the war did not end yesterday...Miss." He stressed the honorific, in a way that indicated he was being far less polite than he had been previously, since she still hadn't seen fit to say hello to him, or give him her name, despite him doing both of those to her. "I spent years traveling from battlefield to battlefield, treating the wounded and dying of that conflict. I've spent more years treating the wounded in my life than I have not. I started doing this when I was but a child. Do not mistake my youth for inexperience, particularly when it comes to the War. I have seen entire planets bombed back into the stone age from orbital bombardments of asteroids, where the people, once capable of amazing feats of technological wonders, were using sticks and flint to start a cooking fire. I've seen populations devastated to such a low number, that it was a serious genetic concern that they might not be able to sustain their existence without the threat of recurring inbred mutations, wiping them out without outside gene stock. " He takes another step closer to her, to make sure he had her attention. "So you'll excuse me if I seem a bit surprised, if also pleased, that you have been able to recover as well as you have in the time since the conflict ended. I assure you, many have not, and never will." He glances around the place, clearly weary of being here at this point. Everything seems in order, and despite her response to his question, he finds he doesn't care anymore at this point. "Yes yes, public image, face of the Republic and all that, wonderful. Would you be so kind as to call back my escort, I think I'm ready to see my quarters before our dinner this evening. "

Muu informs the security guard " No need, thank you ". The Iktotchi would enter in the shown quarters and explore his room. Once he became acquainted with the layout, he sat down in a comfortable spot and begin to meditate before dinner. The Padawan, of course, unaware of what to further expect with his duties, closed his eyes and reached out to the cosmic force. Muu internally silenced this questions in regards to the shipyard, next opening himself to his precognitive abilities. Curious what the universe had in store for him, the Padawan spent the remainder of his time openly meditating in the room.

After a few minutes walk back to the Arkanian Dragon rook was able to recover his lightsaber without much hassle, he did however notice the reactions he got from the Guards men and the workers, while both parties reactions were mixed the Guardsmen seemed to more distrusting of the Jedi likely because most of them may have been soldiers during the Mandalorian conflict and may be holding grudges against all Jedi.

The nurse would visibly bristle at the jedi's words before looking away from him. For a while she said nothing and the other members of staff in the medi-bay had frozen, watching the pair with a sort of horrified fascination. After what seems like an eternity, the nurse would clear her throat, gesturing to the door with one hand as he gaze drops to the floor. 'The guard should be outside jedi' she would say in a stiff voice.

As Gaze turns to leave, the nurse would call after him. 'Jedi, you should know, you weren't brought here as a face of the republic, it was meant to be an attempt by the senate to improve support for the jedi'. With that she would turn on her heel and hurry towards the other workers. They would quickly disperse, having huddled together to talk in hushed voices.

The guard would be resting with his back against the door, aiming lazily down the corridor with his rifle, probably picking off invisible enemies. He was quite young, more so than the average security personal seen so far. He looked like he should still be in education frankly. As Gaze emerges he would push himself off the wall excitedly, grinning at the jedi. 'Where now boss?'

Meanwhile Muu would find the quarters the jedi had been provided surprisingly comfortable. They lacked the simplicity most rooms at the temples and conclaves, instead being decorated with cheap rugs, scuffed tables and even a few well used chairs. Still, it look more homely than the current quarters on the ship. It seemed that the jedi would be sharing, with two beds to a room. The entire floor of the living quarters that Muu had been escorted to was completely empty. The administration must have cleared it out to give the jedi their privacy.

After retrieved his saber would be able to make his way back towards the main areas of the station. However his path was blocked. Not by anything malicious or sinister, but a seemingly endless procession of hover platforms transporting goods and crates. Their route intersected with the path the jedi and many others were on, halting their progress. There was a lot of sighing and tutting before the majority of them turned down a corridor to one side. There was a lot of chatter coming from the corridor, and about half way down there was a gathering of about eight men and women, mostly human but with some aliens present as well. They weren't station staff of security, they were republic soldiers. Dressed in the the famous red and black uniform it was almost impossible to mistake them for anything else. They were gathered around a Rodian dressed in the same way as them. In one hand he held a spray can, and seemed to be putting the finishing touches to a mural on the wall. What it was though would be difficult for the Chiss to say, at least from that distance.

Gaze makes no comment to the nurse's parting words. He'd tried civility, and she'd decided to be prudish. Well it was hardly the first medical staffer with that personality, but he was hardly going to put up with it at this point. He turns to the guard and says simply. "If you would be so kind as to lead me to my quarters so I can freshen up before our dinner, I would appreciate it."

' It seems this group of soldiers is bonding over street art, or possibly even commemorating lost comrades, Curious.' He looked back at the jammed corridor that was in-between him and his quarters and decided to go investigate what this gathering of soldiers was painting. Zoroku made sure to not get too close to the group of republic soldiers before he was invited in to talk but he didn't announce his presence either he decided first it was best to analyze from a distance.

“I understand, I fought with the Jedi Expiditionary Force and lost many a friend, but I do not realize the hatred towards the Order.” Tiberius would tell the second guard, smiling inwardly as he knew the way he had phrased his sentence implied that he had been on the same side of the Jedi, despite him actually fighting against them. Tiberius went the rest of the trip in silence and once they arrived he looked around to see what ships they were making and for anything that might be considered out of the ordinary.

The guard would shrug cheerily as he goes to lead the way. 'Hey, you're the boss man' he'd drawl. He would lead the way through the crowd, weaving in and out with a familiarity that showed his time on the station. 'Don't get many fancy guests over this way. He'd say over his shoulder as they arrive at the building. It wouldn't take long using the turbo lifts to reach the jedi's floor. 'Whelp, here's your room' he'd say, tapping the key pad to slide it open. It looked like the medic would be sharing with Muu.

As the Chiss makes his way down the corridor, he would get a clearer view of what the Rodian was painting on the wall. It was an impressive piece of art, already covering at least a third of the corridor. It looked like a recreation of a battle. The scene depicted republic marines fending off neo-crusaders in a violent firefight. At the centre of the painting a republic soldier could be seen striking a mandalorian in red armour with the but of their rifle. It was made the republic forces look decidedly heroic against their dreaded foe. Stenciled above it were the words 'Not that ultimate', written in the native language of the Taung. The soldiers would pay very little attention to those around them, instead chattering among themselves as they watch the work. One would glance across at the jedi by chance, smirking as he does. 'Never seen a battle before jedi?'

" I have witnessed many battles most of them naval engagements, and from each one I have learnt many things. " Zoroku says keeping his gaze locked with the mural, " You see I study Warfare, unlike most of my fellow Jedi, I made it a point to witness battles and participate in a few during the war. " He turned to face the Marine who had asked him the question, " Just because the Jedi as an Order didn't participate in the Mandalorian Conflict doesn't mean all Jedi did not. Or do you not remember the Revanchist... I was not one of his Jedi but my Master and I didn't sit back when innocents lives were in danger either." Zoroku goes back to admiring the mural of the battle that took place in this space station, ' The way they depict the battle here it looks like it was a rout of the Mandalorian forces, however from the extensive damage suffered and from what the Foreman has told us this is not the case. However the battle still seems as vicious as it was described..." He thought as he studied the mural, he didn't intend to speak to the soldiers unless they wished to continue their conversation with him.

The guards would halt as they reach the entrance to the factory floor. It was quiet, almost deserted. The break between the night and day shift must be about this time. Most of the lights had shut off and only a couple of personnel with datapads were milling about, taking notes here and there.

The guards did not move to lead the jedi onto the floor however. Instead they would turn to look at each other, their faces a mixture of concern and possibly anger. They would turn to face the jedi, hands on their weapons. The first guard would take a step forwards, watching the masked figure carefully. 'The jedi didn't send no expeditionary force to fight mando's. Only Revan's boys went to war, and they were exiled. Just exactly who are you huh?' It would seem these security personnel were more tuned into orders conflict than expected.

The second guard would join in, equally suspicious of the jedi. 'You're lying to someone stranger. You're either a jedi lying to us about fighting, or you're one of the exiles and you're lying to you pals back there. I think you should come clean'.

Meanwhile the Rodian would look up at the Chiss, pausing in her efforts. 'I always thought jedi were meant to be peace keepers, that's why you lot chickened out when push came to shove.

A second soldier would snort, shaking his head. 'Well he ain't no Revanchist, that's for certain. If he were, he wouldn't be here would he!' There'd be a low murmur of agreement from the others.

The Rodian would nod along with the others, pushing herself up to her feet to begin work on a new mandalorian warrior at the back of the artwork. 'I wonder what happened to them lot, I'd rather they stuck around instead of the leftovers'.

Back in the hanger, the grizzled captain would chuckle as he looks at the large wookie for a moment. 'I doubt he'd fit in the fighters kid. Come on, I want to be in the air soon'. He'd turn to march towards his own fighter, shouting out to the other pilots as he goes. 'Scramble! Last shift people come on! Let's go! Let's show the jedi how it's done!'

Despite the laid back nature of most present, they sprang to their feet like a fire had been lit beneath them. They were sprinting to their respective ships, pulling on helmets and rearranging their flight gear on the run. Someone would give Mal's chair a swift kick, starting him back to life, giving him a chance to scramble out of the way.

As soon as the pilots scramble, Walter starts heading towards Mal's fighter. Before he can reach it, Mal stops him while handing a headset.

"You're gonna need this, kid," he says. "Can't communicate otherwise."

"...No flight suit?" Walden asks.

"You don't exactly have much time. Besides, I doubt mine's will fit on ya. And you're a Jedi. Think you'll be fine."

"...Thanks." Walden replies, taking the headset.

"Yeah, no problem," Mal says before yawning. "Just bring her back in one piece."

Walden nods before he heads towards the cockpit. The Aurek tactical strikefighter was the standard for the Republic; consequently, prospective Jedi pilots were trained in the use of one. The Aurek springs to life easily and Walden checks for any problems before he heads out with the rest of the patrol.

He would look to the Rodian who addressed her " The Jedi had their reasons for not joining in the conflict, my Master and I had ours for not joining the Revanchist, but to judge someones character without knowing how they think is a mistake that would cost many lives on the field of battle. " Zoroku would answer the second soldier without his gaze parting from the mural. When Revanchist and his final whereabouts were mentioned Zoroku straightened to his full height " I may not be the Revanchist but I fear we may never hear from him again. " He crossed his arms in front of his chest. " Judging from his fleet's last trajectory into what you call the Unknown Regions, the ships he took with should be considered dead or worse..." he would say in a very cold tone looking to each soldier in turn. " Many of you may have confused me for a Red eyed Pantoran... that is not the case my people are from a planet deep within the Unknown Regions, while I know my people wouldn't attack the Revanchist, there are others who would and could win easily."

“I am one of the exiles, you have me. It seems that I am not a good lier. Either that or you two are very perceptive. Well done. The only thing you have wrong is about the task force, officially the Jedi under the Revanchinist were a task force. It was the only way the council would approve of the Jedi going to war.” Tiberius says, “Is there anything else you need before setting down your blasters?” Karabast.

There would be a crackle of mumbled conversation over the comm set before Bartlett's voice cut through like a knife. 'Alright ladies, by the book. Let's show the jedi here how it's done. Alright, and launch!' Almost in unison the fighters would slowly rise of the ground before firing towards the hanger exit. Within seconds they would enter the inky blackness of space, the fighters forming into a loose patrol formation. A total of five ships including the jedi's was on patrol. It was peaceful, almost serine surrounded by the skeletal hulls of capital class ships.

'Okay, this is axe one, sound off.' Bartlett would drawl into the mic. The other pilots would be quick to echo their numbers until it came to the end. 'jedi, you're up' a woman's voice would say after a moments wait.

As the ships leave the hangers, the engineers who had been at work would move to fill the crates and deck chairs that the pilots had left. A few would gather back around the upturned crate that Gunda had been seated at. The Dug would glance up at fellow Wookie, giving him a grin. 'You just going to stand there all night?' he'd call out to him.

Meanwhile the Rebulic troops would listen to the Chiss with interest as the Rodian continues to work. 'Big talker, and an exotic species no less. Order must be proud of such a find' one would say. The other would break into a low rumble of laughter at this.

'You know, I think the jedi's reason was cowardice' the Rodian would say casually, adding the finishing touches to a blaster bolt. 'Revan, general Surik, now they were heroes. They're the ones we owe everything to'. She'd pause, turning the face the jedi. 'If it was up to you lot, we'd all be speaking mando'.

Back on the shop floor, the two guards would continue to watch the would be jedi guardedly. 'If you're an exile, what are you doing here huh? Are your buddies back there exiles to?'

'Of course their not' the second guard would say. 'You think they'd all be getting this special treatment if they were?' He'd pause, looking decidedly confused. 'Just what exactly is going on? You say you're an exile, but you come here talking like a mando, and in that gear'. He'd pause again, half raising his rifle. 'Take your helmet off'.

Walden was amazed at the sight of the ships being built in the yards, illuminated by the background of space and the planet below. As soon as the voice sounded off in the comms, though, all attention was focused on responding as soon as possible.

"Axe Five, roger."

Gaze nods his thanks to his escort, bidding the young man farewell, and proceeds into his quarters. He glances around absently for a moment, and then deposits his meager belongings on the unclaimed portion of the room. He decides to shake off the travel fatigue, and being threatened with death twice in 24 hours, while saying hello, and goes to take a space shower (yes, different from regular shower, because SPACE). He makes use of the facilities and then puts his robes back on. He clips his saber back onto his belt, crystal back inside it. He checks to see where the dining hall is on a nearby display, and starts to head in that direction.

“Fine. But I warn you, I am not a pretty thing to look at, I am a Mando by birth. But shunned by my people for my abilities.” He taps a button on the side of his helmet and pneumatic seals hissed as the air holding his helmet in place released, his face was almost human looking would it not be for the tentacles growing out of his head in the place of hair. They matched the color of his pale gray skin and were the roughly a quarter inch thick. Now with his face reveal completed, he spoke, “Are you happy now?”

' Troublesome... these soldiers believe that the Jedi were cowards... I wonder how far this perception spreads.' Zoroku looked to the Rodian who now stood before him, " You lay blame on the Jedi, yet it was the council whom decided not to fight... I had no part in that decision nor could I influence it." He steps forward past the Rodian and turns to address all the Soldiers, " The Jedi and your Military are more alike than you think, having a similar chain of command. Meaning that those who didn't join the fight were dutifully following the orders of the Jedi Council. Would you blame a fellow soldier for following Orders? Is it the fault of the soldier when they dutifully respect the chain of command?" Zoroku would pause for effect, looking around to gauge the reactions of every soldier. " No, none of you would blame a fellow soldier for following orders, so I beseech you extend that courtesy to the Jedi."

As the squad began to cruise around the vast circumference of the space station, a fighter would pull level with the jedi, tilting slightly to reveal the occupant of the ship. It was a large Aqualish with mottled green skin and four eyes. There'd be a noise over the comm that resembled the creatures language. 'So jedi, you ever flown one of these little babies before?'

A second voice would join the conversation, the female voice from before. 'Nah, you saw the ship they came in on, he's a freight monkey through and through'. This would result in a ripple of good hearted laughter, no barb to it in this case.

Meanwhile for the jedi who had found their way to the residential quarters, there was little to do other than talk among themselves. On the other side of the corridor, lead to what looked like a recreation room. There were plenty of tables and chairs, and it looked like there was even a large holovid in the centre.

Things for the Taung was not so hospitable as for the others. At the reveal of his face, the guards would instantly raise their rifles to aim at the jedi, their faces showing only fury. 'Filthy mando!' Breka would shout, finger reaching for the trigger. 'You're dead scum!'

'What's going on?' a deep voice would boom down the corridor behind them. Striding towards them was the guard captain from the hanger, as stern as ever.

'It's a mando sir, they've infiltrated the je-'

'That's enough!' The captain would shout as she nears the group. 'Breka, Molder, go back the barracks, now!' For a moment the guards looked like they were going to argue, but they lowered their rifles and began to walk past the jedi. As they passed by, Breka would lean in towards the jedi, muttering in his ear. 'You dead Taung, watch your back'. With that they would begin to disappear down the corridor.

As they were left alone, the captain would turn to face the jedi. 'Put your helmet back on' she would say with disgust in her voice. 'You were a fool to do that jedi'. She'd sigh, shaking her head in frustration. 'Go to the jedi's quarters and stay with your party. Don't leave them while you're here. Breka will spread the word about you like wild fire and every veteran will be after your blood'. She'd turn to leave as well, but would pause to look over her shoulder. 'You should never have come here'. With that, she would leave, following her subordinates.

A few of the soldiers listening to the Chiss would grow quiet, but the Rodian was not so easily swayed. 'Everyone has a choice to make jedi. You chose to listen to you council, you chose let people die. Revan, he chose to fight, to save the Republic, just like we did'. At this most of the other soldiers enar by would seem to grow with pride at this. The mandalorian war was fresh in the memory of nearly all those int he galaxy, and would be a subject of interested for generations to come. 'Don't just follow orders jedi, you need to think' she would say, tapping her temple as she says this. It would seem the artist was more of a free thinker than many officers would prefer.

"Well, can't say anything against that." Walden would reply on the comms. "These Aureks are a blast to fly."

Amdist all the laughs, Walden let his mind wonder for a moment. If it wasn't for that attack, would he have been just a regular pilot? Probably, he thought.

But Master Sellas would always say this, "The Force works in mysterious ways,"

"...Guess it is...guess it is..."

The thought is interrupted by a message from Tiberius stating to meet him later.
