"I did." Walden says, getting up. "I've been trained to sense movements with the Force. My master taught me to focus on the present for lightsaber combat. Plus, I think I've always had this kind of ability with the Force."
Walden starts walking towards Kattadik, "But..." he says while extending his hand out, "just because I can sense them coming doesn't mean I can actually move fast enough to block. There were some close calls there."

"Who's the best craftsman in the group?"
The first week of the journey came and went without a hitch. It was peaceful, almost boring for the most part. Still, they were over a third of the way into the core to Foerost. However to stave of the risk of hyper-rapture, the padawans had to keep finding other things to do other than stare out of the window.
During their travels, Gaze would receive a garbled and totally incoherent message from his master. the Ithorian had consistently refused to learn how to use 'this newfangled technology rubbish'. He appeared to only be in half of the holograms shot, and, had he managed to flip it upside down? Half the message was him mumbling to himself about how to turn 'this dratted thing on' the second half was complaining about Gaze leaving chores unfinished, chores that he may well have in fact completed.
The others had not received a message from their masters, but perhaps that was a good thing.

"Who's the best craftsman in the group?"
"Tiberius, most likely. We'll have to talk to him about it."
In the Cargo hold
Gunda walks into the training area on his two powerful arms, his lightsaber already in his right foot. He bows slightly to his opponent in the tradition of the Jedi before taking his stance. He waits while Zoroku gets ready, the much taller Chiss towering over the shorter Dug. Gunda is unfazed. Zoroku is using a style he's very used to countering, the style favored by his master.
The Dug moves fast, faster than most Jedi Zoroku has ever encountered. The two trade a few blows, the acrobatic Dug dodging more blows than he parries. Suddenly he leaps up, punching the Chiss in the chest with one of his powerful arms. As Zoroku recovers and lifts his lightsaber to parry the blow he expects to follow, the Dug instead dives under his opponent's blade and rolls back to his hands behind him, striking at the Chiss, who only manages to get his lightsaber up to counter at the last minute. The Dug stops and nods at the Chiss. He may have parried the blade, but the tip is only an inch from his upper arm. Clearly Gunda could have done some real damage had he not stopped.
After making sure the Chiss knows he would have been hit, Gunda bounces off, using his right hand to pull at the Chiss' leg as he moves off, putting his opponent off balance.
Zoroku is unfamiliar with the style of combat the Dug prefers he is taken off guard as Gunda attacks with such speed. He stumbles and falls when Gunda hits him off balance “Ataru one of the few forms Xira has no experience in, this will at least be a good chance for me to learn how to deal with style even if it is clear that I am outmatched.” He picks himself up and begins to attack at his opponent, however it seems that Gunda had predicted his very next move and had the Chiss back on the defense with a noticeable limp to his retreat. He was parrying the flurry of attacks coming his way the quick and fast strikes designed to tire out the opponent until they could go in for the killing blow, he would likely need to turn his strength into weakness if he wanted to turn this duel around.
Gunda allows himself a small grin. "I don't think you're outmatched, but I have trained against your style extensively. It is my master's preferred style, after all," he says. Once Zoroku has resumed his attack, the Dug doesn't stop moving. His attacks are a blur, and he manages to parry or dodge the attacks the Chis throws at him. Attack after attack, punches and even kicks with his off-foot rain down on Zoroku, but his defenses hold, for now. Breathing slightly harder than before, Gunda nevertheless grins. "I see my element of surprise is spent," he says, before finally landing a punch with his left foot against Zoroku's shin, putting him off balance yet again.
Zoroku parried and blocked all of the quick strikes coming his way he shifts his stance to keep his injured leg away from Gunda, and redoubles his offensive this time getting the advantage on Gunda. As Zoroku attacked all his strikes now hit with his full might behind them, 'From what I know of Ataru the best way to defeat a user of the form is to tire them out.' It was the only way he would be able to best his opponent or he would never get a blow in on Gunda. Eventually Gunda would make a mistake in his defense he left himself open to a mighty swing from Zoroku it caught Gunda on his side. " It seems I have turned this duel around. " Zoroku backed off and waited for Gunda to catch his breath.
“Hah, that would have hurt,” Gunda acknowledges as the Chiss manages to get through his defenses, only to stop his blow a short distance from his side. The Dug realizes what is opponent is planning. It is a traditional ploy used against Jedi using his style, since it requires a lot of stamina to maintain. Fortunately, Gunda has a counter. He continues trading blows, but limits his acrobatics a little, conserving energy and not going for a flashy killing blow. Instead, he continues to parry his opponent’s blows and then quickly punching him with his powerful hands when the lightsaber is out of the way. His aim is not to hurt Zoroku but to keep him off balance and on the defense, never knowing when the next punch will come.
Zoroku would again receive a blow from Gunda shoving him off balance, but he was still able to catch the attack coming at him in his cross-guard. "I am most glad I designed my Lightsaber in this fashion” , he said to Gunda while the blades were clashed together mere inches from Zoroku's face. Eventually Gunda would back off when it was apparent Zoroku was gaining the upper hand in the clash. As Gunda started to slow down to conserve his energy Zoroku increased the intensity of his attacks again striking with all the strength his arms could muster. When Zoroku broke through Gunda’s defenses he caught his opponent with a mighty strike before he had a chance to parry.
Gunda stops when it’s clear Zoroku would have been able to strike a killing blow. “You are good, Z,” he says, breathing heavily. “My feet are almost numb from parrying your blows. You are stronger than you look, blue-skin,” he jokes.
"A warrior must be both Physically and Mentally astute, my people believe this balance is what makes a strong warrior. My Master Xira surprisingly believes the same despite not having met the Chiss before I." He picks Gunda off the ground so the can recommence training.
“Again?” Gunda recovers slightly and the two continue sparring, this time training specific maneuvers and parries rather than trying to defeat each other.
Sure thing. Seems to me we are quite evenly balanced in many ways, but you have an edge in soak, wounds and strain that will probably be the deciding factor.
I suppose we'll start the training fight with force dice committed if we want. Gunda will commit one die to Sense Defense and one to Enhance to raise his Agility.
Shall we agree in advance not to use any DPs?
It's probably best to play this out here, unless you prefer a google doc?
I suppose I could just as well roll the Vigilance check to see who goes first!
Training: Vigilance for initiative: 2eA+1eP 3 successes, 1 advantage
Vigilance (initiative): 3eA 1 success, 1 advantage
It seems Gunda gets the first Strike, Zoroku will also be using sense to boost his defense by one and he has a rank of defensive given his lightsaber. Does the Jedi Battle Armor also give defense?
No DPs.
Here is preferred.
OK. The armor you have is defensive one. So Gunda's difficulty will be DCSS. Zoroku will have DCS since Gunda's armor also has defensive one.
Gunda will aim once and then strike.
Training: Attack round 1: 3eA+2eP+1eB+1eD+1eC+2eS 2 successes, 2 advantage, 1 Triumph
Not bad at all. This is 8 damage, breach 1. I assume Zoroku will parry for Soak 4, and so take 4 damage?
I'll use one advantage to inflict a mock critical hit. The other will be used to give the next friendly PC (me!) a boost.
Training: Attack round 1 critical hit: 1d100 88
This result is Compromised. It will increase the difficulties of all the checks Zoruku by 1. So you will need to roll DDCS
The Triumph will be used to upgrade Zoruku's next attack once. You are up to DCCS
Gunda will use his Parry against your attack, reducing the damage by 3.
Oh so we are using regular damage not Stun damage? Gunda also has the advantage of 2 ability dice on Zoroku so this may not end as you though it would. Zoroku will parry. and reduce damage by 4 leaving him at 4/15.
Lightsaber Check: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eC+1eD+1eS 1 failure, 1 Despair
Awesome the dice hate me today
Yes, the two extra ability dice will make a difference for sure. But I got a very lucky first round, and the critical hit was probably the best thing I could have rolled.
Incidentally, if you wanted to you could easily represent the critical hit by Zoroku switching to his left hand and keeping his right limp at his side to acknowledge the 'touch'.
And your roll. Well, the dice are doing you no favors, that's for sure.
I'll just use the Despair to upgrade Gunda's attack once. I also have one boost from my previous roll and will aim as a maneuver.
Training: Attack round 2: 2eA+3eP+2eB+1eD+1eC+2eD 0 successes, 1 advantage, 1 Triumph
Ha ha ha, see, the dice don't favor me any more, my luck seems to be spent, for now at least.
I'll use the advantage to pass another boost and the triumph to upgrade your attack again, since it worked so well the last time, so you are again looking at DCCS
Alright Dice don't fail me now
He will Falling Avalanche and Aim.
: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eC+1eD+1eS 2 successes
Alright 12 Damage with Breach I assume Gunda will parry. No upgrades on either of our ends
Eh, how do you get 12 damage? Base is 7 + 2 successes = 9. You don't add your characteristic to the damage of a lightsaber since it has a fixed damage (unlike, say, a vibroknife that has 1+brawn).
Yes, Gunda parries, and has now taken 6 wounds and 3 strain.
He'll attack again, with the extra boost from before and an aim maneuver:
Training: Attack round 3: 3eA+2eP+2eB+1eD+1eC+2eS 2 failures, 4 advantage, 1 Triumph
Wow. Luck has certainly left me. I'll recover 3 strain (leaving me on 0 taken), pass a boost my way and again use the Triumph to upgrade your attack.
Yes but you forget Falling avalanche, Zoroku Suffers two strain to add his brawn to the strike! His brawn is 3 so the math is 7 + 2 + 3 = 12!
You keep making it difficult!
Zoroku will aim and Falling Avalanche Again!
Lightsaber Check: 1eP+2eA+1eB+2eC+1eD+1eS 2 successes, 1 threat
Again 12 Damage with Breach I think that is a KO.
I thought I was done for seeing how many dice you were rolling! You had me scared!
Ah, see, I didn't notice Falling Avalanche
Yes, this is a KO for sure. Your dice came through after the first round while mine didn't. Even without FA, it probably should always have been your fight, on equal dice. You have better parry, better damage and more wounds/strain. I have only a couple of more dice, which didn't land my way. Still, it was interesting.
Gaze turns on the holo-recorder, takes a deeeeeep breath, and exhales. "Master, the flashing red light does NOT mean you hit it repeatedly with your cane. It means it's recording. And I have NO idea how you turned the thing upside down, as it's a pyramid-shaped device, designed to auto-correct for orientation. But once again, you amaze me with your ability to defy the laws of physics and technology, and somehow confuse the thing about
up and down
, so, good job there!" He gives a thumbs up to recording eye, while his tone clearly indicates his dry sarcasm, and that this type of conversation is something he has done several times apparently.
"Nothing really interesting to report, no major injuries or illnesses in transit, though I think the Wookie was close to testing how well the pilot could fly without arms there for a little while. Aside from a small case of singed fur, which is more of a problem than you might think for species entirely
covered
in fur, it's been fairly quiet so far. Oh, I did come up with a possible treatment for that one skin condition we encountered on Deritahlis 9. You remember the one, the arboreal colony who ended up developing fungal growths on their extremities every rainy season? Well, I'm sending the formula, and maybe you could get it to them next time you are in that sector. " He looks out the small porthole at the flowing sea of stars from hyperspace, and then looks back at the holo-recorder. "Anyway, that's about it, remember red light means working, NOT, hit me repeatedly. Take care Master."
Gaze switches off the device and presses the transmit button. After a few minutes, he takes out his saber and idly twirls it. He casually dismantles it for maintenance, and removes his crystal. "Hey there Shardy. " He says amiably, and loops a bit of cord around the blue crystal. He then hangs it in front of the porthole, giving the flickering light of the hyperspace display, a blue tint as it flickers around the room. "Pretty nice view huh?" He says to the crystal, laying back on his bunk. He begins to hum to himself, a song he heard from a little girl on one of the planets they visited during the War. She sang it while he cauterized her leg stump, to try and keep herself from crying too much. She taught him the song as they went along, keeping her distracted, and it had rooted itself firmly in his mind. "Yeah." He said to the quiet room. "I miss her too. Hopefully she was able to get a cybernetic limb after we left, but given the demand, and the low economy of that world?" He shrugs to himself, and sighs. "Still, maybe one day."
He watches the shifting blue lights around the room, mixed into the myriad of swirling lights from the hyperspace tunnel, as they paint his room in a psychedelic visual display. After a few minutes, he falls asleep.
(Note: this was supposed to take place in the 1st week, I just forgot about it.)
“Whoa!”
The parts fly out of the air again and Walden looks down on the workbench in frustration.
“Agh, can’t get my lightsaber into shape.” he says, dejected. Since then, Walden took some parts out to replace some old and battered ones. Sparring with Kattadik showed that those parts weren’t exactly the best, and he needed to fix it up a bit more.
Unfortunately, Walden was more interested in flying and fighting rather than maintenance in all those years, and it was starting to bite him in the rear.
Tiberius walked past the room when he heard the crashing and banging of parts going everywhere, “Everything okay in there?” He yells through the door, “Or do you need some help?” As far as Tiberius knew, he was the most accomplished mechanic on the ship and was more than willing to offer his help to whoever needed it.
Walden heard Tiberius’ voice. “Yeah, I’ll need it.”
Tiberius opened the door and walked in. “What are you trying to do?” He asked.
“Trying to tidy up my lightsaber, Tiberius. I placed some other parts in, but it doesn’t quite feel right.” Walden looks at the various lightsaber parts and scratches his head. “Should have paid more attention…” he mutters.
"So matinence then." Tiberius says,"At least you were able to take it apart." He helps Walden pick up the peices. "It helps me to choose a focal point when working on something. In this case, I would recomend the crystal. I learned in my time away that thinking of building a shell is more effective than other tactics. See the saber, not as a weapon, but as a living, sentient, being that you are using the force on. Focus your energy into making your mind believe you are helping a living being, and the force will flow freely through you."
Walden nods and meditates on what Tiberius says. He focuses on the crystal and soon the parts start hovering in the air. The parts float for some time and finish partway before the parts drop on the workbench. IInstead of being frustrated, he smiles.
“...I think I understand what you mean, Tiberius. I felt it for a moment there. It was as if I was tending to someone’s wishes.”
Tiberius folds his legs beneath him, "Good. Every skill improves with practice. One does not learn war by reading books. Just as one cannot repair an object he does not know. Treat your most treasured possessions as friends and you will be able to rely on them." He pulls back his hood which had been concealing his face. Revealing his green, hair that was scaly in appearence. A scar, easily identifiable as either a blaster or lightsaber wound, running from the left of his forehead to his chin. "They will be your most reliable friends, and if you truly know them. You should have no problem performing matinence or improving them. You will improve them on the most minutee level.”
“Thank you, Tiberius.” Walden says with a smile before he notices Tiberius’ face. “So, pirates give you that scar?” he asks. Walden has seen those wounds before, and it’s usually one caused by blasters...or a lightsaber. “Usually, a bit of kolto would do the trick, but I guess those guys didn’t have some, huh?”
Tiberius responds, “No. By the time I got away from the person who inflicted it, the wound was permanent and there was nothing to be done the j.” Tiberius breaks off for a second, “pirate who inflicted it wasn’t very nice.”
“...J, huh…” Walden thought. Tiberius was holding something back, but at this point, it was better to let it go for now. “...I can definitely agree on that, pirates aren’t nice, indeed.”
Walden nods for a moment before continuing on. “Anyway, I think I should keep on working on my lightsaber, so I won’t keep you here if you need to do something. Again, thanks for the help.”
“No problem.” Tiberius stands, “Pleasure to talk with you. If you need help with anything mechanical, just give me a holler.” He then leaves the room knowing he was playing a dangerous game. To much talk of his past could prove disastrous.
“Yeah, I will.” Walden waits for a moment before he says something that may have fallen on deaf ears. “I could be saying this out loud to myself, but I still remember that talk we had all those years ago on Illum. About good and bad Mandalorians. I still think you’re one of the good ones after all these years.”
Walden knew that Tiberius wouldn’t reveal whatever secrets he had. It would take more than one talk to do so. But that discussion on Illum helped Walden deal with the pain and sorrow of his past. And he hopes that was he just said out loud will help Tiberius with whatever he has going on.
“Thanks.” Tiberius says, before muttering, “That makes one of us.” He then goes to his quarters.
Edited by satkazBy the second week, the Pawadan began to unwind and relax more on the starship. Hyperspace travel started to soothe the Iktotchi’s unease and lessen his ambitious attitude. The Pawadan would still visit the archives; this time by expanding his research. This week Muu would review Foerost’s citizenry, economics, and prominent system players. He would study Senate member voting records, focus on the military centric populace, and discover the system’s principal source of income.
Muu would sustain a rather constant schedule again. His meditation sessions would increase in duration slowly over time and start to focus more on precognition. Muu would still maintain his social interactions with Svae and play with Gwode. Muu would incorporate time to dine with Matt in the dining gallery. Muu would also share his Foerost system research should the other Padawans ask.The Iktotchi was keeping it simple by making himself available should anything arise.
The parts fly in the air towards Walden as he gets rained on by pieces of metal.
“Agh, that hurt....” he says, rubbing his head. It had been a few days since Kattadik and him suggested making training sticks for everyone so that they wouldn't cause harm to one another. Walden had decided to find whatever was needed to build them in the work area.
He didn't notice Tiberius coming into the room.
Tiberius walked in to the workshop and quietly closed the door behind him. Quiet, being alone, and lots of spare parts, three great things at once. He turned around and saw Walden, great. Tiberius remembered their conversation the previous week, and how it ended. "What are you doing?" He asked.
"Oh, Tiberius." Walden says, surprised. "I was trying to find some materials for training sticks for everyone."
"Kattadik and I sparred with lightsabers...and we realized that was a horrible idea. So, I'm trying to find them."
Walden then gets an idea. "Say, would you like to help me build these things? Seems like you can make some."
“Sure, could be useful for making sure we don’t injure ourselves more than our enemies.” Tiberius walks around the room gathering up metal and wood rods to use as blades and hilts. “How many do you think we need?”
Walden thinks about it for a moment. "I would say about one per person, plus around half for replacements...so around 13-14 sticks."
"Sounds god, I'll start putting 'em together keep gathering spare parts." Tiberius says, reaching under one of the workbenches for his toolkit.
"Anything I can do to help?" Walden asks.
"Yeah look for a welding torch. That way I can simulate you guy's fancy crossguards." Tiberius says, "That's it for right now."
"Alright, will do."
After a bit of searching, Walden finds one and hands it over to Tiberius.
Tiberius pulls down a welding mask, and hands one to Walden. “Might want to put this on.” He says as he fires up the welding torch. Tiberius heats both ends of a short piece of metal, sets down the torch and plugs his saber into the side of one of the longer poles. He slides the short rod into the gap and plunges the training staff into the metallurgic cooler normally used to stop lightsabers from overheating. When Tiberius pulls it out, he hands the staff to Walden, “Want to try it out?” He asks,”I’ll get started on some more.”
"...It's good. Feels like I'm holding a lightsaber right now." Walden takes a couple of swings. The training stick works like a charm.
"Made it pretty fast, too. Think we can keep this up?"
“I think so.” Tiberius says, as he rapidly repeats the process, sometimes sticking in a short pipe, sometimes filing a notch to mark the end of the hilt until enough were made.
Eventually, all the training sticks were made, ready to be used for sparring.
"Good work, Tiberius. Everyone is going to appreciate this."
“Happy I could help.” Tiberius said.
Edited by satkazTime in hyperspace can pass slowly, trapped within the confines of a what was essentially a small building with a bunch of strangers. It was fortunate that the padawas had found ways to occupy themselves, but now their journey was going to a close. By tomorrow, they would be able to exit hyperspace. Assuming that the navicomputer had been programmed properly, they would arrive right on top of Foerost. If it hadn't, well there was no way of knowing where they would end up. That could be an interesting adventure if nothing else. There was no further messages from the masters on Dantooine, perhaps they simply had faith in their students. Still, there was some time for the padawans to prepare for their very first solo mission. Time to finalize their business.
As the 3rd week arrived Muu would alter his research to a knowledge seeking leisure activity. He began to seek forgotten tales of Jedi within the Foerost system to see if anything would catch his eye. The Iktotchi was yearning for knowledge outside of starship production rates or statistical figures. He was curious if the Jedi of the old could assist in the matter.
Muu would discover a tale of a Jedi Zalwem Zhil in a journal. The young Consular would become absorbed by the report for sometime until he would look up and notice Zoroku in the archives as well. Seeking a break from his studies Muu would greet his fellow Pawadan, " Hello Zoroku, what sort of scholarship brings you to the archives? " with a smile.
Zoroku looked up from his datatpad to see Muu was in the archive with him as well, " The last time I was in here I found information on Republic capital ship construction that may be useful..." He motioned for his fellow Padawan to join him at the table, " At the moment I am trying to construct a program to more easily search the archives for us." Zoroku turns his datapad around and shows it to Muu, " Is there something you would like to search? "
Muu would join Zoroku at the table, " I'm all for research becoming less troublesome! ". He would look at Zoroku’s datapad, " Could you share what you've discovered that may be useful in regards to ship construction? " curiously.
Zoroku pulls up two ship layouts he had saved to the Archive's holoprojector, " I found information detailing many of the republic's capital ship designs. These two stood out to me in particular... Can you tell me why Muu?" Zoroku looked to Muu as stood up and walked to the other side of the table. Zoroku seemed to be testing what Muu could analyze from the ship designs.
Muu would observe the two ship schematics on the holoprojector for a few minutes zooming in and out. Muu would reply " The past two weeks I've been briefing myself on shipyard production and orbital defenses. Being less aware of capital scale ships, I had not considered the shipyard construction selections... I've only been striving to get up to speed with our assignment " he would say laughingly.
" I see. The Interdictor..." Zoroku points to the older looking ship before them, " is one of the oldest ships currently serving in the republic Navy, and it is reported to have 50% malfunction rate on any of its systems, including some of the more important ones such as the shields, navigation and even life support. This is not a ship I recommend the Republic continue producing even with it being much cheaper to manufacture than the Centurion-class Battlecruiser. " Zoroku points to the other ship on the holo-display, " The Centurion is the most advanced ship in the Republic Navy, though its heavy armor made of Doonium is extremely expensive the effectiveness of this ship in combat alone would have made the Mandalorian War a much shorter conflict."
He puts up one of the beginning battles of the Mandalorian War, and has it play out as it was reported to occur. The Holographic ships flew around making the same maneuvers and using the same tactics their counterparts had done so ages ago, the battle itself ends with the republic in retreat. " A poor performance from the Republic fleet comprised mostly of Interdictor class ships, however when you run that battle replacing every interdictor with a Centurion something very interesting occurs." Zoroku pulls up the same battle but this time he replaced all the Interdictors with Centurions, the same tactics were used the same maneuvers the only difference was the swapping of the two ships. " It ends in a pyrrhic victory for the Republic..." He looks to Muu " While it is best to avoid mutual destruction this outcome is much preferred over the loss of an entire Republic fleet."
Muu would watch the first holovid play out displaying the Interdictor's battle competency in the Mandolarian Wars. " Hrmmmm ". Muu would further listen to Zoroku words intently and then watch the Centurion in the next battle . In Zoroku's example it was clear the Centurion had the capacity to take on more in the battle. Muu would turn to Zoroku and grin. " You've done your homework! You have a strong and clear case for the Centurion class in that battle. From your viewpoint, is the Centurion class what we should invest in for future? I realize the opponent concept is abstract without a known force in existence to challenge us since the Mandalorians disarmament ".
" I would recommend to Republic Naval command that they use the template of the Centurion as the base for all their capital class ships. " His red eyes switch their gaze away from the holograms and back to Muu, " The ship itself is old and can still use some improvements but it is a very good design to base future models off of. "
Zoroku turns of the holoprojector and goes back to his seat next to Muu, " I assume you were researching something as well? "
Muu would nod, " Now I'm curious what the Naval Republic Research and Development may be preparing for us to discover upon our arrival ". Muu would question himself " Research? ". " Oh! I was reading a report by Jedi Zalwem Zhil. Apparently he crash landed long ago on Foerost and discovered ruins with a strong force presence. I suspect he was a Navigator based off his report however, he didn't leave much to go on ".
" Interesting, what do you think this Jedi has to do with our mission?" Zoroku says in his Cold tone but with a slight hint of curiosity he looks at Muu awaiting an answer.
Muu would look slightly embarrassed, " The journal report was more of a obscure exploration theme of the past rather than anything pertaining to our current affairs. The Mandalorians ran a successful hit & run raid on the Foerost shipyard before Coruscant could send reinforcements during the war. I thought I'd to expand my scope to Jedi tales within the system and see if history held any secrets of prior defensive strategies. So far, just ruins without coordinates which may or may not still remain " Muu would sigh. "Yet, it was fun to take a break from shipyard operations today. " becoming more optimistic in his tone.
" I see." Zoroku scratches his chin in thought. " I would be safe then to assume that you were also researching the defenses of the Naval base at Foerost. "
Muu would lean forward with interest "Of course! In particular, hit & run naval defense. I'd like to demonstrate how the Jedi Order has the ability to propose refined strategies for the Republic since the Mandalorian Wars. Preferably a clue on how to hold a fleet in the system defensively in time for Corusant's fleet to respond to the opposition ".
" It is a difficult thing to stall a Fleet without an equal force, without that it is unlikely any battles held at the base would last much more than an hour or two. The best defense would to always have a fleet in orbit, having support fleets stationed no more than an hour away by light speed. The fleets should be comprised of an equal part capital ships and Fighter craft." Zoroku shared his Tactical knowledge with Muu. Zoroku began searching through his datapad looking for another diagram to put up on the Holoprojector.
Muu would listen to Zoroku's naval strategies. Nodding he would reply " I am realizing more and more the difficulty of stalling an entire fleet. We will be arriving in the Foerost system tomorrow. By then we will be able to better assess our defensive capabilities. It's a shame we can't have a squadron of cargo ships deploy portable gravity mines at will to stall the enemy " he would say laughingly. Muu was grateful to have Zoroku sharpen his naval awareness. " Thank you , for sharing your insight Zoroku " he would say with a smile.
"
You are welcome Muu."
Zorkou says as he turns back to his collection of Holocrons, pulling up a battle he was studying and put it up on the Holoprojector.
At the workbench, Walden starts working on his lightsaber. Having consulted manuals, talked with Tiberius about concentrating using the lightsaber's crystal, his experiences with sparring, and watching Tiberius make the training sticks, Walden feels ready. As he pours over the cabinets and gathers the tools, Walden knows what can do at this point. He starts modifying the grip of the lightsaber so that when Walden swings it, he can place his strikes better.
After a while, it is finished.
Mechanics [Modifying a Custom Grip]

1 success, 2 advantage
Modified it to have Accurate 1. 2 Advantage spent to reduce difficulty of next lightsaber modding check by 1.
Walden sets everything back into place and swings it to get a feel. And it does the job.
"Next time I modify my lightsaber, I have some tricks up my sleeve now, thanks to everyone."
Edited by satkazKataddik heads into the workshops and digs into the various bins and shelves. After several hours, he pulls out what looks to him like an old bent branch with a gentle sweeping curve; just what he was looking for.

1 success, 2 threat
Add curved hilt attachment.
Tiberius spent his days in the workshop continuing to modify his saber.
Finally, they had arrived. Gunda having hardly left he comfortable environment of the cockpit began to flick the switches and dials that would bring the shining vessel out of hyperspace. Effecting an overly posh voice heh would jab at the intercom, letting everyone aboard hear him. 'Ladies and gentlemen, we are about to arrive out or destination, Foerost. I hope you have all enjoyed this pleasant trip aboard Jedi airlines, and we will be leaving hyperspace in three, two, one'.
With a low whumph, the ship would arrive bang on target, close to Foerost. Very close, too close in fact. As soon as the planet began to loom up on them, flashing lights and sirens would begin to blare in the cockpit. 'Uh, guys? Something's not right here!' he'd call over his shoulder as he slows the ship down.
There would be a crackle over the comms system as the ship begins to receive a transmission. 'Alright yeh filthy pirates! Listen up an' listen good! This is the Foerost ship yards, and yeh best get yeh pile o' scrap out o' our airspace before I personally blow yeh teh kingdom come!' The voice would sound decidedly colloquial as it contacted the ship. It was coming definitely coming from the huge metal ring that circled the planet, the ship yard. It was a truly impressive structure, bristling with all manner of buildings, machinery and docked vessels. It was almost impossible to imagine how something like this ran smoothly.
Still coming from the comms there was now a scuffling noise before a new voice could be heard. 'I've told you about using the comms away!' The voice would grow louder, presumably as it moves closer the to the mouth piece. 'This is communications officer Chalon of the Foerost ship yards. You have entered restricted space and have come into range of our sensors. You are to perform an all stop immediately and to identify yourself and your purpose here'. With that, the comms would go silent.
Gaze who had been up in the cockpit to watch the entry into the sector, blinks several times in surprise at the welcoming message they got. He reaches over to one of the nearby panels and flips the comms on "Uhh, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot Foerost Shipyards." He says, kind of just stringing things together that he's maybe heard on a holo-vid. "This is the..." he actually takes a second to check the name of the ship, having failed to do that when they first got on, "..Arkanian Dragon. We're on a mission from the Jedi Council to provide aid and assistance at this facility." He pauses and starts to lean back as if he were done, but then thinks again. "Uh... shiver me poop decks, and swab me timbers....over....yarr." He loses his steam at that point, but shrugs, since they started with pirate jargon, he figured he might as well play along. He turns off the open channel and leans back in his seat.
Walden points a look of disbelief at Gaze, who managed to get on the comms faster than he did.
"...Really?"
Tiberius staggers into the cockpit, "Blasted, blithering, bummed, bat-brained, beings." He mutters, "What the absolute heck did you say?"
