Cool! Thanks.

*holds up a empty tin can* starships for the poor please!

I really like the black ISD with the green window and turret touchups, and the faint light grey line outlining the profile. It all looks amazing!

Thanks. To date, that is one of my favorites as well.

So, apparently my apatite for custom Armada ships is so great, I had to try my hand at making my own...

Our Scout ships have reached Dantooine. They have found the remains of a Rebel Base.

I'm traveling at the moment, and it is still a wip, but I will put that on my list to finish up next, right after my Wayfarer Medium Transport.

@cynanbloodbane Thank you so much! I look forward to it! :)

I know I promised MC85 pics, (still a wip), but I got distracted, and I am really glad I did!

I starting trying out a new method of prepping Versatile Plastic (formerly White Strong and Flexible,) for painting, and I am very happy with the results.

In my last order I picked up Mel's Bellator SSD in VP. While the Model is beautiful, the texture of the material leaves a bit to be desired, being very grainy and powdery. After the standard soap and water bath & air dry, I decided to start with a thin layer of Crystal clear enamel from Rust-oleum, applied in the same manner as a primer. As this seemed to sharpen the details by obscuring the grainy texture of the Model, I continued to apply subsequent layers.

5 layers later, and then primed white, you can see the result. Th e V.P. Bellator on the left, almost matches the Fine Detail Plastic Secutor on the right.

I will caution, LIGHT COATS ARE KEY! It would be very easy to obscure the details you are trying to preserve, with some careless overstay. Be patient, and give it several thin coats, with appropriate dry time in between.

Wow! That looks amazing! I am speechless... that is just amazing!

Those do look quite a bit better from what i can tell. Would you consider posting a tutorial video of your methods for this?

Good tip!

It is really just a series of light coats, until I reached the desired result. I am absolutely amazed with the results, so I felt compelled to share with the community

I do have several other VP models that I will need to complete the same process on, so I absolutely could borrow my wife's Video set-up.

Please chime in if anyone else would like a video of the process.

I'm going to a highly important tip: watch the humidity! high humidity is murder on clear coat, it can actually cause it to become grainy or even textured.

I know i said it before, but since then you added Two SSD customs, so again... *holds up Tin can* Please sir, can i have some X-Wing Soup...

@cynanbloodbane What colors do you use on your TIEs? I am trying to paint mine in the blue-gray Ep. 4 color scheme. What color do you use as the base coat, etc?

So, I actually cheat. I prime in white, then paint on the cockpit and panels. Then I nulin oil the entire thing. The nulin oil stains the white to the desired grey. Final step is a couple dabs of red for the engines, and a couple dabs of green for the laser cannon.

Got that MC85 painted yet? Not to nag, but I'm very interested 😅

Which one did you use? I'm very new to painting models and don't wanna use the wrong one, I see several ones on Amazon. This was the one that caught my eye
