any home-made movement system?

By federdr, in WFRP House Rules

Hi everyone!

I'm new here (first post) and I've been looking into Warhammer FR 3rd edition. I've seen the promotional videos and really got caught. So then I started investigating about the game, after reading really good stuff I discovered the abstract movement system used in the game.

The price for the box set is quite high, I know it is a COMPLETE set, but 60 to 100 bucks is quite a lot (for me anyways). I searched the forums and didn't find anything solid about my concern so here it goes: have anyone tried playing the game using a homemade grid-based movement system? How did the game go?. Abstract movement is really not my thing.

I think my team and me can come up with ideas for designing such a system, but there is no turning back the product for us, nor selling it because we are from Uruguay and its a whole process just buying the game. So I wanted more information about how open is the game to do such changes.

Thanks in advance and please forgive me for any spelling mistakes.

Thanks Sinister for replying.

Have you actually used it? or did you just did it for the anoying crowd(which I happen to be in)?

I've been reading the forums about the movement and I think I'm going to try it anyways, maybe I start loving it at the end who knows.

But anybody who has tried a more grid-oriented movement system (in combat of course) please post the experience.

I've tested it. I did so before writing it up. I have not used it in more than one session however.
