Wave 1
I'm so excited for snow speeders and AT-STs now, it's going to be hard to focus on work for the rest of the day.
source???
Yea where did this come from.
Why would Luke and Vader be a part of Wave 1? They are in the core.
Setting aside whether that's an official picture, and Mr. Davey stating that Luke and Vader are core box exclusives, I can see why they would sell Luke and Vader as separate expansions. There are people who want to get into Legion but don't want a core box. But you must have a commander to play Legion and of course a lot of people who want to play Empire are of course going to want a Darth Vader commander!
See, if that's real then I'm all in - the snow speeder just sold it to me!
Unfortunately that means I'll have to stop collecting IA as there's now way I can afford the time/money for both. But that's fine - I have all expansions up to Hoth to play with

I'd think the core box would count as part of Wave 1. Am I incorrect?

I figured it FFG would make you buy the core set to get those minis. In Armada, you have to buy the core set to get the core exclusive commanders and titles, which is kinda similar to this. I just don't see why they would release Luke and Vader in a separate pack and give you a second mini.

Maybe they're at a smaller scale?
I'll get my coat...

Especially when you consider that many people will already have duplicates of Luke and Vader from buying multiple core sets.

I agree. But, like, for example in XWing the Luke Skywalker pilot card is only available in the core set and it's considered to be a Wave 1 card.
I think of wave 1 as being a core set plus a bunch of expansions.

And the minis from WotC, WE, and IA. So many models.

TIL. I did not know about these miniratures. You learn something new every day. Thanks for the info.
Guys,...
This is just someone's photomanip.
The AT-ST and snow speeder match what Alex Davey mentioned in the Team Covenant demo. He said that each of those vehicles would be heavy support.
That being said... What is the source of this picture?
Thats so obviously shopped.
Davy has namedropped Leia as a Commander, Scout Troopers as Special Forces and AT-STs and Snowspeeders as Heavys. I'd say they'll be in Wave 1. Extrapolating further, I'd say One Expansion per 'slot', per faction, per wave is the plan.
So Wave 1 would then be:
- Leia (?) and ????? for Commanders
- Rebel Troopers and Stormtroopers for Troops
- ?????? and Scout Troopers (?) for Special Forces
- AT-RT and Speeders for Support
- AT-ST and SnowSpeeders for Heavy
Strange. I'd assume they would save the airspeeder for a Hoth themed wave. *Shrug*
Also, if they had painted models good enough for a promo photo, you think they would show them off in their GenCon case...
Snowspeeder that's all I want.
And everything else.
I'd think that the initial releases will be what's in the core box, as additional expansion sets to quickly get lots of troops on the table. So more Troopers - Rebel & Storm, Speeder Bikes, and the AT-RT. Alex Davy said that they have an "aggressive release schedule" for new units, so don't be surprised if the first stuff comes faster than the other games. No doubt we'll shortly have threads of folks whining that FFG is releasing too much stuff for the game and they can't keep up...
