Are those the beer glasses that come with 5-straight thermal detonator trajectory simulators or just two loose stabilizer crits?

Just started watching every Nymiranda game video I can find....

The test matches I had against it with three tie strikers and stuff were madness.

Watching it on stream though...it some how looks even more awkward than it is to play against in person.

The mirror matches are especially funny to watch.

There is no real equivalent to it in X-Wing with all the 5 straights that are used and the sheer # of bomb tokens followed by an inevitable 1 v 1 TLT slap fight.

I feel like Nymiranda Mirror matches should be settled with a 6 v 6 Hwk 290 battle instead.

Also I think its best to encourage people to play Nymiranda.

Its better for the game in the long run if we sort out just how good or bad it is quickly.

That is pretty hilarious.

Alternatively you could do a fat Palpsilon, to coordinate, stress, make people super-sad if they chase Kylo. Doesn't care a whole lot about bombs either.

Kagi with Palp, Sensor Jammer, engine, and a ten point bid? Do you add an Ion cannon? Is 7 points enough of a bid anymore?

7 vs 10 is enough. Neither beat 16, both beat 4. The Ion Cannon lets you do some very bad things if someone doesn't play quite right.

I don't say this is good, but it's super funny.

My first choice was upsilon with palp. Engine.

Went to kagi for a slightly better bid.

V.i. advanced sensor kylo is a choice too. I mean one pre move...move....at p.s. 11 feels ok if the bid is enough

I have a local who has been legitimately practicing that list since the Silencer dropped. It is more effective than it has any right to be.

I'm a huge fan of the fat Upsilon, I don't doubt it's power.

Catching up on a lot - @Biophysical I did soontir because he's my security blanket and at least there I know what I'm doing mostly? Double silencer might be better, but being able to straight faced tell my opponent that my kylo was worth more than his expertise engine rey made my weekend, so that might be the real victory.

I'm not sure I believe in kylo + upsilon, because that upsilon will actually die. The whole tournament I lost soontir once (don't worry, we had a mid game salute and funeral), and kylo never. It's very much a scratch something and wait strategy.

The real issue with the fat Upsilon is that you basically don't get a bid if you bring all the stuff that lets the Upsilon maybe pull some weight. That's problematic for Kylo, but it is a great way to get Intel Agent, and using crazy Kylo maneuverability to block someone in front of an Upsilon's guns seems like it might be worth the price of admission.

I get the Soontir buy. Bigger bid and can kind of just laugh at single Harpoons. I guess my main point was two aces over Gunboats seems like a really good option if the Gunboats aren't getting the job done.

And for sure, I suspect kylo/blackout is a better list, and more importantly probably even a real list. I had fortunate pairings to make it even possible, though I clenched for 75 minutes straight vs vi autoblaster genius trajectory sim nym

One day I want to run Kagi with Reinforced Deflectors and Countermeasures for the lulz. He makes LRS Nu's so sad. Deadeye not so much.

Does anyone else kinda miss modified wins? It sucked that games weren’t worth an equal amount, but it stopped the “49 point Miranda beats 47 point Kylo with a 1 point bid beats 44 point Miranda beats 43 point Poe” rabbit hole.

Yeah, I've really been kicking around the idea of Reinforced Deflector Kagi if fully modded harpoons get too bad around my neck of the woods.

For reals? I would have thought the pairing process for the team event would be the perfect opportunity to develop and test hard counters to the list. Disappointed in you for house rules

I actually think the bomb placer is a pretty cool tool, even when we don't live in bomb **** they're pretty useful for preserving Game state with bombs and ships that deploy.
