You throw a lot of two dice shots that nobody expects to do anything, so when they do beat the odds and take away half of Fenn Rau's HP at range 3, you get observation bias.

If SR Vader is still 82 points (or wherever it lands post-adjustment), but base Vader goes down to 60 or whatever, does anything actually break? (Ignoring comparisons to other /x1's or /v1's, who would presumably come down at the same time)

Also I've just realized Grand Inquisitor needs two rulers now, one range 3 ruler that says range 1, and one range 1 ruler that says range 2.

There is a massive difference between a 2 die ship (A pair of acads taken in as filler) and a 2 hit ship (Acads in a howl swarm)

If your 2 dice ship can't force that to be 2 hits over 80% of the time, they do suck **** at actually killing. Watching Wedge natty out of a couple of Acads in a joust is not fun. It's way less fun when it's Boba and he can actually laugh at 2 hit attacks as well.

Boba, Luke, etc. suppress 2 hit attacks as well as 2 die attacks.

This especially holds true to waves of mods. 2 dice lone wolf and focus from Wedge are far greater than rebel Rau's throwaway shot. A juking TIE fighter with a Sloan reroll has a better damage output at R3 against a tokenless defender than a modless Striker at the same target. Sure, an ave is guaranteed to at some points natty away 2 hits, but the war of attrition demands that their time is limited. It's why heroic is so ******* good--on an individual sample it likely won't trigger, but the longer a game or a tourney is, the likelihood of that jackpot of being rescued from all blanks dramatically increases. It's also why you arc dodge even against the least likely of shots if you can afford it, because we all remember winning or losing big to an intentionally murky aspect of the game.

I just looked at the exported csv from list fortress for the first time. I can't handle the format of the squad right now, so no analysis coming from me for any time soon.

I have a python script that will convert that output to something more like you'd get from juggler, if you're interested.

This is one where I don't care to start a fight. The fewer people playing Kylo, the better. We should be recording tonight though.

So I played a couple games now with Kylo. Some quick rambling probably inaccurate hits, cant remember everything.

  • Game 1: Kylo/QD/Longshot vs Fenn/Old T/Han
    • Primed Thrusters Kylo
    • Fanatical QD, Fanatical Longshot
    • Scum got the bid by 1 pt.
    • Fenn One Shots a flanking Longshot at R1 but gets drawn away from my QD/Kylo who engage separately with Old T/Han.
    • I trade QD for Old T. Full health Fenn and Han left on the table.
    • Kylo tries to go to work but Fenn/Han close the game out.
    • First game with 2.0 Kylo I spread out to much and get punished for it, next time I would try to trade QD for Fenn instead.
    • With primed I know Kylo actually still has a win condition 1 v 2 against the 2 i6s.
    • Probably involving one or two ranged shots on Fenn, a panic pilot on something, and 5 straights to peace out over and over.
  • Game 2: Kylo/QD/Scorch vs Vermiel/2x Barrage Bombers/ Whisper
    • Comfortable with how much dial casual is involved with primed now
    • QD/Scorch distract the Vermiel/Bombers
    • Kylo goes on a solo mission to kill whisper over 3 turns basically on his own with help from QD on the last shot
      • Jumps the front line of bombers in 1 turn with a Roll/Boost/5 Forward/Target Lock.
      • Dont spend lock save for next shot.
      • Whisper Decloaks forward, Kylo boosts hard 1 roll back for a range 1 double mod shot on Whisper.
    • QD puts some damage into Vermiel then dies, Kylo solos Vermiel and the Two Bombers on his own.
      • Primed Thrusters was clutch here allowing me to go where no shots could be fired until i liked the range or the # of shots.
      • Lots of 2 blue turns, 5 blue forwards, 2 blue banks, and the occasional 1 hard after a boost or roll where it was obvious.
  • Game 3: Kylo/QD/Null vs Kylo/QD/Null
    • Mirror I lose the init roll
    • I play Kylo as bait. Draw the opposing Kylo in.
    • Turn before engage I barrel roll hard 1 turn with Kylo and slow roll bank in with QD/Null for a kill box on an overly aggressive Kylo.
    • He uses Nulls Coordinate to barrel roll Kylo out of QDs arc but closer to my Kylo who plinks some shields.
    • Next round I send QD in to trade with his QD.
    • My Kylo flanks around some rocks gets a double modified shot on his QD thanks to a Null coordinated lock.
    • Burn his shields with nothing in arc for the revenge shot.
    • Rocks limit opposing Kylos options. I get a free shot to kill QD from behind a rock after my QD dies.
    • My full Health Kylo/Null vs his near full health Kylo/Null.
    • His Kylo Doesn't have Primed Thrusters, mine does which made the engagement in the rocks and the 1v1 against the other Kylo alot easier.
    • I basically just waited for him to stress his Kylo so he couldnt super, then got in close.
    • Once behind his Primeless Kylo he kept having to stress for a second action which made it easier to control.
    • Though the one turn I went to fast got me into trouble and got him back into the game. Null was clutch here.
    • Also moving first with the I7 Cooridnate helped a few times because I could block some of his Super/Coordinate options.
    • Should mention that thanks to Null Kylo took only 2 shots the entire game that was not Focus/Lock.

One immediate take away was that it felt easier to Manage Kylo's Force charges than even Vader since I was getting 3 actions per turn just spending 1 charge. Paired with Squad leader it got ridiculous.

I think I prefer the way that Kylo/QD/Scorch plays ( more direct etc. ) but Null solves so many problems for both QD and Kylo ( namely consistency of offense and reaction to other I5/I6 stuff ).

I might try targeting Synch Null instead so he can Target Lock, avoid stressing, and then I can choose across all 3 who gets to spend it. (Not allowed).

Probably going to stick without Null for a bit since I seriously doubt it keeps that Talent for long.

Should create a "parsed" folder with that files output as parsed-listfortress-155.csv

Only problem I've come across so far is special characters in names. You might have to convert the exported file to ANSI (notepad++ does it really easily, encoding -> convert to ANSI). Probably an easy fix in the script, but it's only broken once and I'm lazy 😛

Targeting Synch no longer lets the friendly spend the lock for its "regular" use.

SL Null with Biohex codes, though...I suspect that pairing is a good example of why biohex codes are banned in hyperspace.

So basically just works with other cards that use the Lock symbol, wasn't sure if there was some ambiguity about the meaning of attack requirement or not. Makes sense.

Still good for some ordinance swarms probably.

Glad they caught they Bionical interaction ahead of time, though Stridan still gets you part of the way there kinda.

It was foreseeable that Ini6 will be kida counter to Kylo, and Fenn/Han + something is one of few viable archetypes with double 6 flying around (not to mention can be Hyperspace list, light on upgrades tho - without 0-0-0, BT-1, Greedo etc)

It was my first game using new Kylo which contributed to it. I think if you take Fenn down first the matchup becomes extremely manageable.

Poe + 3 Homing As or QD + 3 Homing or Concussion SFsmight be good enough? I'm trying the first one out on VASSAL at least, with some success in a small number (2) matches.

So far it works fine - funnily enough Nordics, Australian and Pax complained (e: and all do ) cut off at the cut. I don't yet know why

One minor point: your "score" is row 7 when it should be 6. Currently you're getting the MoV when score would be the score.
