We should test it out for science.

Incidentally this 3 Threat Dengar build would cost you 94 points normally (R4 is also not legal on a large base outside of this quick build and is super good on a jumpmaster). 3 threat is meant to be roughly 75 points, so that's pretty absurd value.

Man, that Dengar looks so bad, really not worth it to piss off people who are still scarred. There's no way I'd fly a jumpmasters (again).

You and me both.

Today's lesson is that you shouldn't play 4-LOM, even the quick build one, against people you want to enjoy the experience of playing. My 6 year old stormed off at the unfairness of it all. The nearly 9 years old took over the match with shields back up (just 3 on redline) and managed to pull it out with Rexler left on 2 hulls. He also thought 4-LOM sucked.

Such a fun ship though. Hopefully, they agree to play again if I promise not to bring 4-LOM (Torkil and Palob have been banned at home since 1.0...).

My 6 and 9yr old sulk if I so much as damage their ships...

Kylo will be easy to pin down if all he does is 2 hard left.

And this is only mapping barrel rolls centre to centre

The (next week) 9 year old has been going to tournaments for nearly 3 years, he's used to fighting it out. 4-lom's stress party made him realize going for Bossk first was a mistake (it was).

The 6 year old cared not about damage, but 0-0-0, advanced sensors and handing stress everywhere pissed him off. I was trying to gauge his resilience to tricky behaviour to see if he could actually go to an event. The answer is that he could go to a casual event. Campaign IA is more his type of game, but he wants to try it.

The nearly 5 year old would lose it if anymore dared roll hits (or evades) against him. He'll get there.

Aaaannnnnnd that's why he's 94 pt, or 102 if you throw on the primed thrusters for extra shenanigans. Also keep in mind that if you have a respectable escort force that he moves before 90% of the meta due to the sequel factions tendency to use as many points as possible. He's pretty good, but FFG specified his role from "God of Arc Dodgers" to an endgame monster.

My few encounters with 4LOM have been similar. He really stands out as pretty unfun to deal with.

Thankfully he dies quick, I guess...

Oh absolutely. Like 1.0 the strategy is deal with whatever can threaten kylo then just win.

But he'll also be a bit like 2.0 Soontir, so strong when flown well, but punishes you mercifully if you stuff up.

But of course Wedge is i6 so he'll easily catch him.

Behind a rock at range 3, where Kylo is wont to be, pretending to have "accidentally" landed in an arc this one time, so a more opportune shot is foregone by the distracted I6, whilst the rest of the list goes out to play. *My Wedge takes a long, 1000 yard stare, as he remembers the flashbacks of his attempts to kill guri or half-point a hefty Soontir, always reminded that rolling denies him a modifier, boosting denies him a die, and locking denies him a shot in the hopes of a decent one next turn.*

Man I sure hope after the rebalancing i5+ isn't 90% of the meta...

I felt like such a traitor today, I caved and brought Vader and Soontir to a tournament and then one of my locals won with a whole bunch of Rebel i4s.

Nice. My 9yr old is my tourney wingman. He's fine out and about and in charge occasionally. At home is a different story, they feel the competition much harder in house, for some reason.

If it's a battle we're after, campaign AI ftw though. We hardly ever play normal games of X Wing anymore. I have to shoehorn bits of my tourney squads into whatever weird game they've made up, if I want extra practice :D

Kylo is reason why I think Resistance Han with Rey Gunner will see more play than Rey Pilot. Han has essentially a blank ability, but i6 with a force and the ability can be used out of the mobile and not just the front arc. Then pair that with Rose and Freelance Slicer. Now you’re getting free TL’s whenever you’d like and Jamming people range 1-3 and not just in arc and you don’t quite care about maybe getting jammed yourself cuz you already used your token at i6 and you get TL’s for free.

That squad lead Numb and Dutch synergy is real! Although I prefer Gray, Dutch, Airen, and Wedge with all talents being swarm. Yeah, I move before most everything, but so long that Airen has a shot, I get coordinate shenanigans! 2 fully nodded I6 torps on top of Wedge's primary ability are nasty!

If I5 + big bids and I6s become the mode, it only opens up the field to efficiency.

We're lucky in Hyperspace that the primary I5 heavy hitters are pretty expensive. We don't have Whispers and Redlines that hit super-hard and are cheap enough that they still out joust efficiency lists.

What efficiency catches super primed kylo?
