I mean, they're kind of the Imperial X-Wings and cost about as much, so no. Supernatural Vader has also been popping up in cuts at tournaments, so I think he's probably fine as is. Vader Crew/Whisper do probably need a points increase, though.

I motion to split those 12 moved points evenly amongst Vader Crew, Han Gunner (Scum), and Jakku Gunrunner. This in turn makes Vader cost a few points more than Grand Inky (rightfully so) and makes a little tougher to squeeze him in a list, actually turns Han Gunner into a piece that you have to make room for instead of a joke that serves to make the firespray and gang OP, and means little for a squad with one quad, but makes it increasingly harder to fit a silly amount in a list.

If you're traveling to big events you're either spending the money or borrowing from friends. That said I like the i1 u wing better, almost anything under "I5 with a bid" is basically 0 anyway so you might as well be a better blocker

oooh, I have those numbers.

There are about as many lists with i1 ships as with i2 in the meta
note this is a count for each list with an iX ship in it, so Boba palob 2x quad would count three times, once for i1, once for i3, and once for i5).

Are those lists bidding?

A bit. Having a bid of 3 gives you choice over 75% of any other lists with i1 you might face.

They're actually straight trash. Even Vader performs horrifically. They might be the worst ship in the game, though I'd have to double check that. Definitely competing for it.

The rate is actually slightly worse. Total TIE Advanced appearances cell isn't added up properly. It should be 55.

I thought that X-Wings were squarely mid tier. x1s need too much set up to be any good - Vader is solid in spite of his chassis.

Negative - it's correct. That's total number of LISTS with those pilots in them. There are some lists with Vader and Maarek, so the pilot appearances is higher than the ship count appearances.

How about taking your locks turn 1 with a certain lambda shuttle pilot's ability, and going on to run havoc the rest of the game?

Except that it telegraphs your target - your opponent has a say in what you shoot at too. If this was a two ship meta, it could be okay. But 3 x1s aren't going to scare 3+ ship lists for the most part.

Yeah the Jendon trick works fine with low init ordnance carriers that can take punishment; the TIE x1 can't.

I wonder how much would have been fixed by giving it 3 dice primary out of the gate and allowing the ability to just be hit to crit w/lock.

Because why tf would I take the baseline x1 or the Ace when for 40 points + ept I can take a Saber with native 3 attack, access to an ept, and the ability to double re-position?

Sure, x1s can have the extra attack dice if x wings can have the extra agility.

Fair but at that point why bother making any other x1 pilots? Only Vader has the action economy to make the ship worthwhile so why do we have Stele, Foslo, etc?

I'm pretty okay if Vader is the only good x1 and people are taking tie fighters and interceptors generics instead.

An interesting Q would be "Does FFG know that the TIE Advanced is super terrible?"

Do we need to start running almost an election campaign, highlighting how bad it is prior to the January fixes, to make them aware? 😂

Example: if no one complained about Palob + Moldy Crow, would they up the cost in Jan, or assume everything was fine?

I am unsure how competent they are.

How many of those Vaders had supernatural?

My scouring through lists has shown a lot seem to not run supernatural on him.

I know when I'm building lists with him, I find it kinda hard to effectively fill out the balance of the list.
