Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

By SaltMaster 5000, in X-Wing

If y'all don't read the Keyforge articles, they are getting a new app on Thursday with the release of the game. The stuff they posted would be amazing for X-Wing, if they could get that into the app, too.

"Then, once the first competitive season for KeyForge begins, stats like power, chains, wins, and losses will all be tracked and recorded at various Organized Play events, allowing you to search by these stats and view them on decks."

"track your individual performance based on aggregated tournament results and, separately, the performance of individual Archon Decks"

I agree. token stacking bad. double mod without work bad. so why do defenders get it and my a-wings get jacked?

I'll just have to learn how to fly better.

Tbf you're paying a lot less for the a wing.

It's the alpha/Phoenix comparison that really gets me.

About 40 points in base chassis cost. Double mods is problematic when it's to cheap. You are free to spend that extra 40 points on a coordinate craft to get those extra mods.

Being tractored onto an obstalce that ions sounds like the saddest and most savage thing that's ever happened.

True, I thought of that after I posted...just trying to think what those obstacles should do..the not shooting through thing was cool but if that’s all they do then everyone bringing large base ships will just bring 3 of those...but ion may be harsh

and to think about it if they can’t be shot through, even if your tractored and ioned you may still be safe for that turn your agility is lowered...depending on where you are from everyone, but then again horrible if your on the obstacle and only you don’t have an angle to shoot anyone but they can you lol

Defenders have low offense?

80-100 point ship for a 3 dice attack, conditionally better attacks available depending on talent and cannons/missiles selected. That's pretty mediocre offense for those points. It's substantially worse than equivalent or less points of Whisper, Redline, Soontir, or Vader.

If only there were some sort of faction identity built around getting tokens to other ships...

Hyper Defense in all of its forms is the enemy.

Defenders would be alot more interesting to play if they didnt get a free evade for not getting blocked.

I agree, hyper defense is the enemy. As a handicapable rebel player I'm just looking over at the neighbors grass and wondering why it's so much greener than mine.

Luke

Norra

Sabine

There are enemies on both sides.

As a recovering Rebel player, I can tell you that the freedom of spirit which comes with casting off that particular self-imposed faction restriction is fantastic. I'm still free to be a hipster in other ways.

picking whisper and redline as examples does not inherently mean something else is 'okay'

You could compare the 80ish pts for a juke defender for 50 pts of juke phantom?

Defender is still good, but it's definitely less about punching and more about not dying.

my rebel jank buddy... you have fallen to the dark side.

haha, yea I know. theres ways. just there are ways other ships can do it with less team work required. Phantoms, Defenders, Redline.... all heavy hitters with some meaty defense. meanwhile Luke/Sabine have to carry the whole faction on their broad shoulders.

Yeaaahh..... Now I only have to keep every ship with these seventeen synergizing upgrades alive for the entire game to keep my action economy intact.

Fear not...Resistance will drop and all will be right (with the world? between us?).

exactly.

I have a 5 ship rebel that passes focus around like mad and is fairly independent as well. but everything is so squishy.

for sure.

I'm definitely not saying that makes it okay, just illustrating how the Defender is definitively not maximizing damage for the points you pay.
