You can hear the inability to grow a beard right there.

I know because it takes one to know one!

I remember hordes of low-poly people when I went to my last convention...

Also, how do I git gud at Strikers?

What do you mean? They just move twice.

So I threw Vader/Vessery 2.0 on the table. That is a fun combo.

Phantoms are fun as heck.

That is all.

how make move good? how make striker be behind other dude? how approach fight?

- paint them red so they go faster

- be higher PS than them because MUH PRE-MOVE REPOSITIONING HIGH-INITIATIVE ACES TAKE SKILL

- don't ailerons off the board

- don't land on rocks. Flying through them is ok

- put Jerjerodd somewhere for even fewer consequences

- git gud

(seriously though, I don't think Strikers are going to be that hard to fly, the ailerons will just take a little bit of getting used to. I'm a little trepidatious about them too since I didn't fly them a lot in 1.0, but I think it'll be ok)

That's folicalist! Why can't you see the middle class white male who works in IT underneath the facial hair?

To recap, flying empire is significantly easeir when you don't feel the need to get off for having done so

Can confirm that it's not too bad. Been playing 3+ striker lists for the past few months and it takes a few games to get used to giving yourself space to Aileron for next turns and how to maximize using them. On top of that understanding that for a bit, it's best to use Small-Medium sized rocks (not debris) to allow you to get used to the spacing necessary to aileron.

What I haven't gotten around to doing yet, which is my next goal, is to spread out my Strikers more and more to see how far I can go and still bring them all in together for the first engagement. It's not like I'm keeping them in range 1 of each other right now, but I think I can get them farther apart for better use of having multiple ships attacking from many angles. Right now I've only got a solid pincer from 2 angles down, but that's not foreign to me from other lists I've played. I want to get used to attacking from potentially 3 or 4 angles if it's the correct strategy in a matchup.

The thing with the strikers is that they are so **** fast you can spread out a good amount and still basically get them where you want them to be with minimal effort.

Its also why they are absurdly good blockers.

Agreed that there's no problem getting them where they need to be, but it's also timing it where the Striker(s) that have to go the least distance don't go too fast because of ailerons get them there too early in comparison to the ones that are flanking from another or multiple locations. There is the obvious use of purposely bumping for an early fortress to delay them, but beyond that in the very first few rounds, there's still some finesse to it.

Absolutely. Its easy to overshoot. But whats the worst that happens? One dies after catching a block and the rest get rerolls?

Have you grown tired of Easy Mode X-wing? We have. Don't worry though, we've found a solution:

rocks.jpg

Witness the really fun ace-off we had with 10 rocks on the board. Only one of those rocks was ever hit throughout the game, and nary an (involuntary) bump happened. It's good to know we can still fly even after months of barely playing.

130 v 100 pts seems to be the sweet spot with my son these days, I get to use broken meta stuff this way. In this Fenn/Guri/Thweek v Soontir/Carnor/OL/Maarek with Harpoons matchup, Fenn ended up hunting Soontir into extinction with a Guri herder. Boy do I miss those 5 perfect hits all the time!

Yesterday's Duchess/Vader/HLC Rho v Ryad/Glaive/OL/Blackout was also a blast. The mere 8 rocks on the board proved a boring issue, especially since the defenders had trick shot, meaning I wanted nothing to do with fighting in there. That one ended with Vader v the Defenders with a finale of Vader putting Ryad to 1 hull and her killing him in return. I was told PS11 arc dodging with Vader was supremely unfair, so I tried not to overdo it. Keeping those Defenders in arc is a massive pain, especially when you're trying not to purely arc dodge all the time...

Well I finally played some Soontir last night. I noticed that it wasn't hard at all to have SOMETHING in your bullseye, but I was rarely shooting at said thing in my bullseye. I ran him with ruthless, because thanks mr. coruscant, and it was much better than I expected... Turns out guidance chips primaries are pretty good!

4 Planetary Sentinels so you can Fortress vs TIE Swarm?

Although I love the idea of Soontir blasting in the vicinity of the Inqusitor and being like "Thanks for the assist, Rook".
