But what if Biggs was cheaper, Jess didn't need to hold Selflessness and Ezra could replace Rex?

Le Miserable. FAA was my original default, but now thinking about R4-D6 makes the decision of trying to nuke the selflessness carrier less desirable.

Snap shot ezra isn't a good enough ship to limit aces without miranda. you NEED either gunner or tactician added onto it to properly make a degenerate mess.

Wait, who said it earlier? why are we making this better? EJECT

@Boom Owl @catachanninja @Brunas @everyone, As much as I'd love to talk about Real X-Wing (TM), I'm afraid without the app and points, we can't draw any really meaningful conclusions. Recall that in Fake X-Wing, Palpatine cost 8 points and took up 2 slots, Tarkin cost 6 points and was limited to Fake-Armada X-Wing, and Sabine only cost 2. So all these Imperial crew and aces look cool right now, but we really don't know if they're viable until we know what they cost.

Rebel formation flying makes exactly 0 sense to me. The only reason it ever worked in first edition is because of massively unfair things like r3a2, Biggs, or Low, which are either toned down massively or don't exist anymore. Like FSR1 stood a chance against aces because r3a2 braylen, but without r3a2 why would all of this stuff not just crumble to the first supernatural luke or vader to show up?

The entire point of rebel dogfighty ships that want to trade shots should be NOT formation flying

Sorry i guess i should have clarified. I meant a variety of useful abilities complimentary abilities on solid chassis.

Haha, I figured that's what you meant, but that's... The exact opposite of fsr1. Fsr1 (and 2) were literally 4 straight down the board edge and wait until your opponent decides to play.

Which isn't to say they'll always be that good, but if they aren't that good than formation stacking is always a bad strategy, so the whole strategy is bad. You're literally asking for your opponent to outplay you.

I think what you want is for Biggs walks the krayts, but without Biggs?

I dont remeber the exact points but it was roark 2 b wings and i think airen kracken. So biggs walks the krayts but no biggs lol

So how many points would you be willing to pay for a naked Reaper in 2.0?

you didn't ask what the maximum number of points was which was what you obviously intended, so I will give you the literal answer.

I would be willing to pay 1 point for a reaper in second edition.

I thought it was Ion Stresshog, 2 Tactician Bs, and Roark.

Nah that was my store champ list, but same concept. Roark being r1-3 means you want your ships on the same half of the of the board, but the ships did not fly in a tight block at all.

Well wtf are we supposed to talk about, then?

1.0?

Well since you asked, here's my story. I played Vermeil and 2 Silencers against Quickdraw and 2 Reapers (VK and Palp).

Due to bumping and some weird positioning, nobody jammed anybody on the first turn. Subsequent turns saw everybody run into each other and take more sort of modified shots (FCS/Vermeil's ability).

My Vermeil died and Quickdraw died, then the Silencers started getting jammed and got lucky enough to kill Vermeil with occasionally modified shots.

We pretty much just jousted each other and let dice decide, but couldn't think of anything better to do in that situation.

When his Vermeil died, I jousted Palp with Silencers, until one of them died, then I suggested we call the game, because I didn't want to joust Palp until my 2nd Silencer died, and I didn't want to flee in an untied game.

Yes it's a bad story, but you brought this o n yourself.

I agree. Wild speculation about 2.0 is 100% more fun than the insane game that is currently 1.0. Got nothing else to discuss for a few more weeks at least.

You guys are a bad influence. I’m working on two 1.0 lists.

1) Four Angels with crackshot and FAA with sixteen points to spare. I’m thinking a Bandit with tracers and chips...

2) A weird FSR thing that I’m spending more time on. Largely planning opening fortress setups.

I know which is more fun, but constant fortress talk has me leaning to try something I haven’t done.

4 CAZ with Crack/FAA + AP-5 with Inspiring Recruit if you want to do stress-removal shenanigans or Intel Agent if you want blocking shenanigans.

I just realized that like 80% of the World Cup is teams fortressing and waiting for the Final Salvo penalty shootout.

And the one team that didn't (Japan) got summarily dismissed for not doing so.

Soccer is bad game design, but it's too pervasive with too many rabid fans for any serious edition change.

A friend of mine is trying out 3 Crack Angels + Magva w/Saw + Tracer Bandit. It is decently effective and Magva has a bit of a Biggs effect. You can also swap out Saw for Intel Agent.

Incorrect

I agree with basically everything on this page.

Soccer is terrible and FIFA is a corrupt pile of garbage that encourages degenerate gameplay

Fake X-Wing is not fun

Real X-Wing is very fun

I was just saying that we have to be careful with any blanket statements we say about Imperials being really good or Rebels being really bad in Real X-Wing, since we don't know costs.

For the first time since I built my Rexler/Boba HLC build in Wave IV, I'm actually excited to fly Firesprays. Let's hope this turns out better than it did the first time...

So without points what we're trying to find is powerful game effects. That's kinda what i was getting at about rebels earlier, I'm sure there's some combo of 3-5 efficent ships that really sing when put together, but we won't know how they fit together until we see points. The imperial cards we've seen, especially crew, stand out as powerful and having the ability to impact the game, granted they could theoretically show up and all be over costed, but the powerful effects stand out.

I put a firespray on the table last night playing a guess game ala @Tlfj200 's leauge suggestion. I was really impressed. I know Alex Davy has said he really loves the bounty hunters, I don't think he'd let the most iconic one be bad under his watch lol
