cool so after all other upgrades you have 50 points to spend? so 1-2 generics or a naked Mid PS ace?

At the UK Games Expo and played Alex Davy today. He was doing points from memory (and so am I now) so these might not be exact but

  • Luke gunner is 30 points
  • Dash is 98 base, has both gunner and crew
  • Outrider is 12
  • Base defender is 72 (I think), you definitely can't get 3
  • You should be able to get 3 E-Wings
  • Ezra gunner is 14
  • Miranda is 45, has both gunner and crew
  • Basic wookiee is 46
  • Han is 92

Other things that may not be known (were new to me):

Bombs and mines are now defined types of thing

Fully executing a maneuver is what we thought, rules define partially executing a maneuver as well

No limit to how many tokens you can spend on attack/defense - if you have 3 evades and 3 greens go nuts.

Medium/Large ships decloak using a normal medium/large barrel roll, small ships are a barrel roll with the 2 template.

Thanks for this!

I still lack the immediate grasp on points, even if it‘s as easy as taking half.

A 70pt Dash is nuts (and I‘m glad it is!). Someone mentioned that we were even willing to pay 75 for Lothal. Well, that‘s basically the same! But this Dash with outrider+luke has just one 4 dice attack, at absolute best 5vs-1 green with a target lock and half a focus or worse, fewer HP than the ghost +zeb, but gives up the full half instead of just 27 like the Ghost.

Now of course everything else is toned down, too, but neither Luke nor Dash should break the game from what I understand about it so far

Dash with Outrider+Luke+Navigator+Lone Wolf costs 150+ then? Really, Dash costing more than Han is a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. The **** do you even take with that? 2 rebel Z's? ****, that might not even fit. Just an Ion Y-wing I guess?

Dash Rendar with Outrider, Luke, Seasoned Navigator, Lone Wolf, Rigged Cargo chute, Homing missiles, Static Discharge Vanes, and shield upgrades if he has any more mod slots is probably literally your entire list. Dash Vs the world!

Something else I forgot - Jam is range 1. Not sure if that was used in the Reaper demo?

Yikes. That makes it super situational. But, I mean, jam was a bit of a “you don’t get to play” candidate in the worst case scenario, so I guess it’s fine?

You got any more of that sweet sweet information?

Uhh Static Discharge Vanes will be errata'd on release to not do whatever nonsense people came up with? Wasn't paying attention to that part. E-Wings can target lock at range 0 (I asked Alex and he checked the card and said "I guess they can!"). Ahsoka isn't in the conversion kits but will probably be back. Not the most pressing questions answered there.

We weren't expecting to play, I walked past a table and saw 2.0 templates being used and then stopped there for the rest of the day. Alex only had ships for his squad (Luke/Wedge/Norra), but if we had rebel ships with us we could play him with the conversion kit stuff. Most of us played in day 1a yesterday so only a few had ships with us. I think the first game was against a Falcon and Luke, but I'm not sure of the squad. Alex's Luke tore the falcon to pieces with torps. After that was Corran (Predator/FCS/R2-D2), AP-5 (Informant), and Luke (Afterburners, R2 Astromech, S-Foils and Supernatural Reflexes), which won.

I teamed up with someone for my game since Alex had limited time. I had Miranda/Low/Fenn with me, and we borrowed a Dash since we wanted to see it on the table. We basically said "we have no idea, what can we run with these ships involving Dash" and somehow ended up with AP-5 (no upgrades), a basic wookiee (no upgrades) and Dash (Outrider, Expert Handling, Perceptive Co-Pilot), which is probably not a squad anyone present was expecting to see? Ap-5 could at least coordinate Dash, so Alex killed him with proton torpedos immediately. Anyway we managed to lose with Dash so git gud us? Luke gunner would have helped a lot with Wedge - he ran rings around us.

The last game played had another janky assortment of ships but was a better list and managed to win - Miranda (Bomblet, Advanced Slam), Lando (with Nien Nunb) and Braylen Stramm (the B-wing). Lando seems good and Alex was pretty enthusiatic about him.

I'm going to add these lists to my Survival Kit!

Did he explain anything about supernatural reflexes and linked actions?

I'm not sure but I can try and ask tomorrow if I get a chance. What's the question, just whether you can link off it?

Yea basically. No need to go out of your way to ask him though. Thanks again!

No sweeter words in the American language.

Thanks for the info! Very cool.

Cheers, @apoapsis, very interesting to start to see some sketches of points costs and get some early impressions.

That makes me kinda sad although I wonder if that's the case in both editions. I'd assume so, but I can see it "needing" it in 1st and toned back in 2nd. Being last wave and so close to 2E they should keep it consistent.

Wedge OP. FFG PLZ NERF. He killed two death stars, how can this be allowed to continue?

Seriously, I'm glad to hear about this stuff, and mostly that 2e2a might be a thing. Or should I call it ea^2? Maybe Lootcubed?

I mean, if that's the joke you are going for, just call it "Loot Box"

This AMA for the design team could be an unfortunate waste. So far, every question I’ve seen proposed has been one of the following (and yes, I’ve been guilty of immediately suggesting such questions myself before thinking things through as well)-

-“what about this super specific thing I want to know about this one ship/pilot that was spoiled in the unboxing? I need to know this now even though this information will immediately be available to me when I can actually play the game.”

-”what were you thinking when you made this pilot/upgrade too STRONG??? PS I know it’s broken even without costs or upgrade slots because rebel biaaaas!”

-”where is tycho/k2so/Wes/Ashoka/obi wan/*insert random pilot that really doesn’t matter*???” (Also wtf with obi? Why did we suddenly think he was gonna be in 2.0 again?)

Quoting myself for emphasis and definitely not because I accidentally hit quote instead of edit.

Im optimistic the devs will pick out actual good questions. I havs a dozen fun trolly questions im holding back on, even if the devs are in on the joke this is a good opportunity for the game and the devs.

Call a doctor if that’s the case. Or whoever, if you’re not into doctors.

I think in this specific case he should call Alex Davy.

So something I just realized about 2.0 Han, his ability let’s him reroll the damage from overlapping an obstacle.
