On a slight side note, my FLGS has a flat earth club (don't ask) and one of their favorite things to flaunt is that its not technically a flat earth club(don't ask), rather it just discusses "forbidden topics" (mostly how the earth is flat [don't ask]) and I'm really tempted on a slow X-wing day to go in and rant about how the JM5K is underpowered, and Scum is horribly unplayable, and that Night beast is too good. However, I get the feeling that my humor would be lost on them.

I've been doing that for a while. I've also become known as "Savage" and referred to situations are "wrecked" Welcome to the club, it only gets better from here.

Savage has been a regular word in my social circle. But wrecked is starting to worm in too.

Slang is really interesting. I recently heard on one podcast or another -- mighta been the Krayts, mighta been the Mynocks, but with the human centipeding going on, who can tell for sure -- one of the guys share a lame anecdote, followed by a pause from the rest, and a "Great story, whomever." Deadpan snark.

I swear to God, my friend Cassandra and I invented that, literally decades ago, in college. I still recall the exact circumstances. It spread among our friends, then friends of friends, then our college town, then (when we moved to the Bay Area 19 years ago) the process began again, and now I'm hearing it on a podcast recorded 3000 miles away (but only a couple of hundred miles from the origin!), and it's surreal.

Could it have been convergent meme-ing? Sure, I guess it could have been. But it really doesn't feel like it.

I think it's just a variation of "cool story bro"

I dislike very much the ignore function.. It's an issue we face irl that has crept into anonymous internet forums. Just some food for thought, please don't expand on that.

Only about 30 minutes into the new episode. You guys are way down the "What if this thing we think is broken was completely different? Let's redesign X-Wing, yay!" path so far. It's decidedly different than your usual "We think this thing is broken because X and Y and that's hilarious and here's why!" tone. It's like the plague of half the main forum posts have seeped into your collective minds.
