We have a relative newbie at the FLGS league nights, and a couple of weeks ago one of the old timers ran a doubletapping AC+ABT Ghost against him.

I wanted to hit him with a newspaper.

So for the category of "Best New Alternate Format" is it ok to nominate Ghost/Fenn?

This used to be me...not proud...Dengaroo should not be people's first introduction to X-Wing.

Man i feel everyone on x wing right now. Especially @defkhan1 . I've played 2 games since Michigan and they were both to help people prep for hoth. During the 2v2 event I did with Duncan I wandered around and battled a crisis of conscience during our first game when I realized there was no way our opponents partner would ever play again after the tournament. (Duncan and I were playing ego+Corran. Opponent was playing ghost fenn with more sheathapede and turrets). I sent out the info to start objective leuage at my flgs but didn't show.

That said wave 14 actually looks super promising between whatever the x wing fix is and krennic. Ffg seems to be suggesting that they know what want and have it. Maybe I'm just an optimist there?

I'm going to worlds to hangout with people this year more than really play. Currently deciding between a meme list, an illegal list, or copying the foss's again but not practicing at all like last year (bonus points. I'll be in texarkana for work the week before)

I keep saying I’m going to hit the breaks but FFG keeps doing this. Flight astros and gunboats. New T65. I may have a problem.

As soon as I got out of school and into industry, the first thing I learned was that customers don’t know what they want. And if they tell you what they want, usually they’re wrong (or lying). Part of me hopes that the devs don’t read the forums just so they’re not hopelessly contaminated by the terrible ideas that come out of the player base.

But it I agree, it seems that they’ve recalibrated their design philosophy in a more positive direction. If they don’t add a PWT when the solo embargo is lifted, I’ll feel even better.

End users are really bad at knowing what they want but they're really good at knowing what they hate. I try to guide all my user meetings by asking them what problem they have as opposed to what solution they (think they) want.

I guess I'm less optimistic about the X-Wings from Saw's renegades saving us in this current meta. I want the flappy X-wing just because it's awesome, and to run X-Wings in events where it extra doesn't matter but I still want to win/place well at competitive events and the lists that consistently do that I can't see any way for X-Wings to compete with. Here's hoping to be proved wrong.

Do what I do- Make each list more illegal than the last. My Regionals list was 108 points. My Adepticon list was 109. It's worse that my list made it through 3 days of list checks and no one wondered why my Defenders had Intel Agents on them, or why I had a 51 point Blackout that had Palpatine.

Just saw a guide for Starcraft and here's something that I did not do enough:

Essentially all the thinking is ideally done before the game starts.

Let's just say that I would imagine those are the terms that it's being thought of by just about everyone.

That's why I bring at least two lists to casual night that include one 'fun' list (usually X-Wings). I also take the time to explain any interactions beforehand to get them thinking about what to avoid/take advantage during the game.

My favorite part of this behemoth episode (so far) is when Travis pops in and starts talking about the Vassal league and Bunn just says "why are we talking about X-wing?"

I'm not sure why this shocks me - but yes, you've somehow managed to reduce my expectations that much further. You had Palpatine strapped to the top of a TIE Silencer and got away with it?!
