I guess that depends on what the rest of the list could be. In this meta, the defense is definitely nicer, especially since you're at PS9 and most PS9 Expertise/offensive QDs have been easy to take out via Nyms. Although bombs still don't care about Lone Wolf or Sensor Jammer :/ That's the problem with any QDs that aren't VIed to PS11, they almost auto lose to Nym unless your PS9 QD is partnered with RACLo, then it's more of a game.

Is the 32 point FCS/LWF/Optics/Crack Shot Omega Specialist (TIE/SF) a good choice?

I know "But for 4 points, you can have VI Quickdraw"- QD is already is in the list.

With Raclo, that comes out to 99 points, which is same as/ less bid than nym/Miranda so might be worth primed thrusters on QD to roll while stressed, but either way this might be a strong option to pair with RAC.

That's the same point cost as a Silencer with Thrusters, AO, and FCS. I find myself asking these questions:

1. Is Crack Shot going to help much?

2. How prevalent are turrets?

3. How many things as PS 4/5/does it matter which one I am?

4. How relevant in the aux Arc and Can you reliably double arc ships?

5. Is this an archetype I want to fly?

For me, personally, the answers are:

1. no

2. VERY

3. Not many (Locally, where I play, so where It matters for me)

4. No, Not very relevant with the better dial

5. Not as much as a silencer. I prefer different SF builds

thus, I would play the silencer. HOWEVER, I don't know your meta or what you like to fly, so situationally, I think it may be a toss-up between the two. Fly whichever you think works in your meta/whichever you want. They certainly won't be terrible either way.

I see where that point total is leading. Seems reasonable, but no I don't think it's competitive. Quickdraw double defender is probably strictly better.

I've entertained the idea of a LW/SJ Quickdraw but he still dies about as quickly as any Quickdraw and doesn't do as much damage on the way out. I feel like if he had access to multiple focus tokens he could be good.

So if competitive is not fun anymore, why not just play 77+? Make it so faction rules do not apply and go forth! Seems like it would remove a lot of the meta fat turrets and whatnot if everyone has to have some weird ship in their list.

So for the Goldie awards, have we figured out what we are doing yet? Are we nominating Chris, or do we vote for Soontir Fel?

It's hard to impossible to convince everyone to support a format that isn't the standard officially supported one, unfortunately.

I want it to be more popular though, so time to do some lobbying at local stores.... I feel 100% confident I can convince all the competitive players in my area to join in, and maybe even a podcaster.
