Carolina Krayts is the best X-Wing podcast

Listened to first half hour of the new episode on my way home from the gf's. Absolutely agree on Kylo. Some of the people saying he's too expensive and not worth the points are simply flat out wrong. Which is why I'm liking @Biophysical's thread a lot more. More positive and most agree he's amazing. Just trying to figure out the rest of the list.

Did you guys see one of the semifinals games in the Polish nationals? It was Poe/Leebo vs Miranda/Dash. There was a turn where Leebo went over a debris cloud, picked up a stress, and exchanged fire with Dash. Leebo rolled like 3 eyeballs, and had no focus to spend.

If only there was some way to prevent this!

I went to tournament this past weekend where the obstacle rules were all Debris plus two Extra Large Debris (TO stated Dash can't ignore those ones), so I ran VI Han with Kanan/Kyle/Old Title/Engine. When I would run into a Dash on the day I would move Han over Debris with a white, pick up a Focus from Kyle and took an action and would say, "look at me, I'm Dash now!"

I got into an argument with someone the other day, and upon realizing I might lose, I immediately jumped on the nearest bench (it was outside) and started yelling "It's over, I have the high ground!" I then won the argument. Thanks Krayts.

If you guys keeps putting out episodes like this (breaking kayfabe, being voices of decency and good sportsmanship, etc.), your audience might get confused and unsubscribe. You guys did front-load enough, "You're wrong and I don't believe you" snark to maintain your credibility this time, though. THIS TIME.

Rough hearing how great Advanced Sensors will be on the Silencer and how it (Advanced Sensors) should be nerfed in the same breath..

A shame that you can't fit PA to keep Kylo's dial open. With just AS you have to take all actions before moving if you want to stay unstressed every round. It would be nice to have the flexibility to either upon activation (to better burgle your opponent's agency of course).

I agree, still.

You know... in a few years, when somebody resurrects this thread, some poor bugger is going to read pages of "I agree" and wonder what the foul were we doing... And you know what? I'll agree.

I might have to EchoLocation that, because... that's truley a stupid amount of options just on a 2 turn.

Honestly, the echolocation on the two turn WITHOUT PA is insane to look at and understand that most of those can be done with no stress.

It's going to be amazing. You could do the Adv Sensors boost/BR shenanigans to put your ship wherever you want. But you could also just take your actions after moving and arc dodge like a normal ship. The best part is your opponent never knows which one you'll pull on any given turn. Either one is open. PA is such a good investment on this ship for only 2 pts.

Like, imagine you had pre-nerf Whisper, but you had the choice of decloaking either before or after performing your maneuver...

Whats the map on Advanced Sensors Whisper look like? Been trying for ages to make that work....and bonus question what does the map look like for VI Kylo with Advanced Sensors and Coordinate nearby...

I am torn between wanting coordinate to be more accessible to Imperial lists in general. And outright fear of how insane Coordinate + Advanced Sensors + Anything with a boost and barrel roll will be.

Palpatine and Darth Jar Jar keep telling me though that if rebels get a less then 30pt coordinate boat, I want an imperial only Thrawn coordinate crew so we can properly break the entire concept of movement order and action efficency once and for all.

The better name would be 'Special K"

On the most recent podcast, at 2:12 in, this literally describes how I got into the game... I saw the core set at Target, and bought waves 1-5 from Miniature Market / Cool Stuff Inc without ever having stepped foot in a game store. The notion that people even go to a store to play games was a foreign concept to me. I thought that only weird smelly people did that, for really weird games.

(I'm still partially correct on the last point, although the X-wing crowd is pretty good about staying hygienic)

Same story for me. I picked it up at Barnes & Noble, played it only at home basically 4x....had no idea it was played at "stores" until about a year later. Walked into a table top store for the first time shortly after that.

Except you can do the vast majority of that without PA. It's not buying you double reposition before/after movement, it's just letting you do the after movement one stressless. Which is, don't get me wrong, nice but is it 2 points nice? The ship is already so maneuverable already I kind of wonder if it's really needed vs something like say and FCS or autothrusters on something else in the list.

The lack of boost to change your movement direction and arc facing makes adv sensors much less valuable on the Phantom

If you just have AS and no PA, then you're pretty much stuck taking actions before moving. The moment you decide you need to PTL after moving, you end the round stressed, which shuts off AS for the next turn. You then have to spend a round limiting yourself to a single action before you regain the use of AS. I'd say PA is easily worth the 2 pts to eliminate that limitation.
