Now, I don't want to be that person that screams "thing bad on release because reason" but the LAAT seems a bit much at 51 for a ship that's supposed to get tooled out with crew to support a swarm. Stay tuned while I figure out how to make degenerate palp aces though.

Edit: Flavor this to taste, yoda's also 15 so you could also take him i guess, or some other crew, or Plo or Mace or something. Maybe eventually an Actis? Probably not a good list but it's worth a try?

I expect that this is just the points of the new ships, and that the real update is still on its way.

PHOENIX SQUADRON PILOTS SHOULD BE 27 POINTS

  • Seems like that LAAT ability is pretty powerful, huh?
  • Named Xi seem fairly priced (Malarus + 6 FO!), generic Xi is ?!?!?!?!?!
  • HMP can be 5-per-list with a wide array of toys, and can easily sling Probes for long-range locks. I3 with Config and Probes? I1 with Probes and K2-B4 and 3 Discords and a DBM?

Yoda is nearly useless with Aethersprites. He'll only trigger on their Purple Evade. With Actis, might be OK.

Hyperspace Nantex can run the combination of Marksmanship and Deadeye Shot, for easily exposing cards. Seems OK.

As if that ship needed more tools...

Deadeye seems pretty useful overall as another of the "cheap slot filler" talents, and thane can expose 2 cards if he can find a crit, as he's got no predator to use in Hyperspace.

Because its an effect with a downside and which gives you the most minor modification bonus possible to give in the game for its upside, and which only gives it when you miss, and it comes at the cost of taking other more 'proactive' upgrades like Optics.

This actually strikes me as a good thing. It means FFG understands that 'Miss-wing' is a toxic meta that isn't fun, and that they intend to 'push' effects that assist ships in getting some reward for successfully staying in arc on engagement even if their attacks are unreliable.

Which is a good thing, because it rewards high skill play vs aces and punishes aces for 'brute forcing' past fire arcs. Hopefully Starbird Slash and Patience will also be shockingly cheap as well, to spread this sort of effect across as many factions as possible.

That's a thing i've struggled to put into words for a while, and part of why I originally liked upgrades like tactician and r3a2. I think that that the generic should be rewarded for getting the double repo moves last ace in arc. 1.0s stress mechanic may have been too oppressive (to some people :P). Commander cody is another effect that I like for that reason. I guess so far we've seen too strong of a reward and too weak, maybe atp will prove to be a sweet spot? That said turning any ship in a list into 1.0 biggs is a heckuva downside, so this may still prove too weak.

I think it’ll cost very similarly to a Nantex or potentially less whenever we get an adjustment. This is teething problems.

I’m a little more grumpy about 3 point configs.

In the slightly disappointed camp on LAAT pricing, but mainly because I fully intend to run one. That ship ability seems strong.

Which is probably why I should be pleased with the price.

Actually almost tipped into mad about Conc bombs. I suppose I'll have to get Emon out again to partially alleviate that.

I did this- Plo- CLT, 104th x2, 212th with Ghost Company and 7FG. 198pt.

Maybe I like.

I have a proper side-eye going on with Plo crew, but my Plo Delta is good paint and must be flown. Nothing wrong with 2 focus tokens on a beefy double tap though, and that double tapping thing throwing rerolls and extra dice around seems nice as well. The firing arc and range coordination is very interesting.

Obi, 212th with Plo and 2 104ths seems like something to do instead. Just beef up and not die enough.
