ya know what? I'll take it, at least that spelling doesn't have someone who lives near me and is wildly more successful than me in endeavors that i pursued.

People started bringing her and dash to play against massed bullseye effect ships.

I'd say people brought Rey because she was just plain good. The nantex stuff kind of showed up after/during her arrival.

No one appeared to have gotten more mad about RZ-2s over the weekend. Weird.

It's a steady, consistent level of mad.

Things that are fun:

  • 5A
  • Rey AAA
  • Rey AA

Neat!

For some reason though, not as many Rebel Falcons, which I personally think was an oversight by the community. Granted, they need to find what else goes in the list with either Han or Leia and nothing is as good as the RZ2s from Resistance that go with Rey. Big ship, big orange, and boost action should've clicked some lightbulbs more though....

Z-95s may honestly be a really good pick.

I imagine that if 6 Nantex wasn't a thing. Rey-Wings would have been the meta-villain for people to complain about. It is strong, and very strong in a good players hands.

I strongly doubt it, as what lists become meta-villains tend to stick to a very narrow theme. Rey-Wings may be strong, but they aren't a list you essentially are punished for playing X-wing against.

This is also why people seem to be pretty ok with RZ-2s despite how obviously strong they are. While they are annoying, you can make concrete progress vs an RZ-2 list without basically smashing your own head into a brick wall.

Hi,

Remove the rotate action from the RZ-2's ability and add red rotate linked to the lock action.

Add Proton Rockets to the Fort.

Thanks!

Rotate's here to stay, sorry to inform. RZ1s should definitely have it though.

Boost turrets are band 👌

I only say it because people like to have a villain, not because Rey-Wings is an NPE.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think people would complain in the same way they complained about rebel beef or whatever. In that case I am sure people would claim Rey is way too strong when in reality she is just sorta... a good version of the VCX in a way.

But when I think of 'meta villains' I think of the stuff that actively crushes the meta and compresses the top 20 to a top 4. Boba, Fat Han, Nantex, ect.

The stuff that is really saying 'you don't get to play X-wing and which actually causes long term damage to the game in some way, where people really have it out over it. Rey would probably be like how people are talking about RZ-2s right now in that there is some controversy but its super milquetoast and the people pretending its some huge kerfuffle are clearly just spoiling for a fight.

For me, the biggest issue with taking Kulbee is that Thane exists. For 2 points, you get I5 (which is pretty big) and an ability that I would say is similarly situational, except you don't really have to put as much work into using it-sometimes Thane just flips a card, while Kulbee really has to actively play around flipping his foils.

Kullbee is an I4 L'ulo with more health

Boost -> Focus then 3-primary all day, then R4 for blue turns makes him quite maneuverable. I4 is almost good enough to make him something close to a rebel ace, but alas.

I'm just a little jealous of how Rey gets to do all the things fairly easily. But she has to front arc you, is very big, and only has 1 green. So it's fine to play against, plenty of agency, major weaknesses to try and exploit. As noted, I dont really know what the full Death Rey costs, but theres nothing there a little adjustment wouldn't fix, if she were too good. Unlike some things.

Rey Wings wouldn't be the same if it had to drop an upgrade or 2.

Anyhow, flying a speedy front arc, big base steamroller is smashingly good fun and super wholesome (kinda). (Speaking as a Lancer addict)

I disagree with your criteria for that comparison (3-die gun with focus+boost).

It really wouldn't. This is the baseline (some folks tweak munitions on the A-Wings). Removing anything from Rey weakens her considerably. Removing anything from the A-Wings or reducing their initiative reduces required punch and/or list cohesiveness.

That's a good bit of room, but I assume they kinda live or die on it.

Not really. The list can probably go up closer to 200 and still be relatively fine.

I've seen it with Crack Shot on both As for a total of 198.

There are a lot of tweaks which can be done. I think the point being that some of the costs can go up on ships/upgrades a bit and the list is still fine.

It could even drop Zizi to Seftin Vanik if necessary. It wouldn't be ideal since Zizi is so great, but the sacrifice could be made.

Psst. L'ulo with stuff in Tallie's slot is also probably fine. Doesn't even need the procket. ;)

I think if you're looking for a second talent for them, deadeye shot is quite nice. Whiff your r1 attack with 1 hit/eye and 2 blanks? Trigger des, then reroll the blanks with heroic. Alternatively starbird slash is very cheeky.

I appreciate the education :)

Hmmm, yes, I see
