I for sure run mostly Ace + Squad Gangs (due to personal preference to always staple some orange and purple thing to a list at 200 pts) and sometimes Ace + Support + Squad Gang (i.e. Soontir + Howl Swarm). There is still something to appreciate about pure Squad Squad Squad Gang Swarms with individual pieces that provide value/variety by themselves without any true ace or support. Even if they sometimes involve multiple copies of the same ship. Not every copy of that ship is doing the same thing or approaching engagements identically, they often have specific unique roles in game even if the stats/chassis are shared.

As a random separate comment that is probably unrelated its worth restating that I think games against CIS Droid Ordinance Swarms in particular are almost always hugely entertaining. Every Droid has a purpose and a couple specific things they need to do or places they need to be round to round for the strategy to work out.

After today, I thought I'd add this one to the list:

Not so hot takes on Crait cut:

-Empire crashed and burned. Only 1 in top with Sloane despite only 5 sloanes overall (and arguably with not the best build either). 3 aces were present but sucked

-Rebels didn't suck as usual, but Dash is still nowhere to be seen despite being the flavour of the month

-Resistance is the best faction to play vs nantex because Rey can kite them and Awing are tough to crack.

-Warthog first event didn't go well. Only one in the cut, the one with the best build imo. Faction still suck

-FO instead is already getting used to the new toys. Friendship ended with Howlrunner, Malarus is the new swarm king

-Faan is at what, 16-0 with Nantex in those events?

EDIT: forgot about scum, they are yet again confirming themselves as the mad genious (or utterly insane) players... wtf 6 scyk... and what's that, a 128 points boba?!?!?

-6 Scyks is not easy mode (esp with so many Reys and Spamtex), interesting also that it is a Laetin list. Would be interesting to see videos.

-Go G4R! Refreshing to see the bot so high up. Shooting him with Jamming Beam Dengar?

-The Kavil Dengar Nym looks interesting as well. Kavil always had the problem that he died fast if concentrated upon. Now he can poop 3 bombs, less enticing for the opponent to be come in from behind.

So nantex won 4 of these online events and the only non online one, I guess they are still wholesome

To repeat my previous supposition, the Covid points sets for Nantex's is possibly FFG saying why they hadn't dropped their cost much when they upped the cost of Ensnare.

Also, to keep it in thread theme: you can have a Krayt fang or Crait Crystal, depending on which faction you are currently in.

Conversion rates separated by faction, and then further separating the Separatists into Spamtex and non-Spamtex. An interesting takeaway is that the Separatists sans Spamtex are probably the most in balance faction for expected amount of lists getting into cut. See his blog for more conclusions.
