Most of the things that were said about rz2 apply now to Nantex, except better and cheaper.

If 'just arcdodge' is questionable against 5A then it's more so against spamtex.

If 5A doesn't play "proper" xwing then spamtex plays even less proper xwing.

And so on. This thread is a wild collection of such claims. It's strange to say the least to see two so similar ships and two such different reactions.

Similar profile, different playstyle and less counterplay.

The tractor-turret mechanic, the Initiative and the 3 attack from bullseye are notable upgrades on a cheaper ship.

Are they really different reactions? There's a lot of pages on both, i think both are fine, other than nantex are too cheap. I'm not sure if 5 and a friend/toys or 6 naked is the right threshold, but it's pretty obvious that 6 with toys is too much. Especially considering how well they compare to 5as. The shields and occasional I5 with words aren't worth a whole ship imo.

Also, i'm kinda suprised I've yet to see a screen of six nantex flyin along the board edge with thier arcs pointed in, because with stressless 1 turn roll focus, that's a tough fight to come up against

As much as I harp on 5A, 6 Nantex is much worse. Honestly, I don't think 5A is bad, rather my gripe is more that Adv Optics is 4 points than the A's themselves and the fact that they keep getting i5 pilots rather than the actual ship/list. If any other ship had 4 i5 pilots, I'd likely be crying jealous tears about it, as well. 5A hasn't been dominant since wave 3 came out. It's been solid, but not dominant or oppressive. Leave 5A alone. Leave Britney alone.

If Oddball is a Hotshots and Aces gunship pilot, does that mean any one of Maarek's following piloted ships gets considered:

I think we should put Maarek in every ship he canonically was in from the game. I believe that is the TIE/ln, TIE/in, TIE/x1, TIE/d, TIE/sa, and the Gunboat. Or at that point, just release a Maarek Stele pack that has him in every Imperial ship.

that's it! I'm not even sure he ever even flew an e wing in the lore

Edit: did a dig, there was approximately a 12 month span when rogue squadron had e wings and b wings instead of x wings and it appears horn was there. He was also in the v wing mission in the n64 rogue squadron
