How dare you!?! That's like asking me to scroll up! How dare, good sir, how dare! :D

But in seriousness, how long ago? I wouldn't want to wade through hours of 1st Edition content and lovable Krayt nonsense just to prove myself wrong.

you expect me to remember things that i've said?

I'll make a deal with you, if you pm me the definition of an ace, I will tell you the origin of the name

Is init killing a key part of being an ace?

I just wouldn't really describe an A-Wing as out-acing, say, Vultures. They've got a bit of mobility, but it doesn't really feel like they can sufficiently leverage that mobility. Moving well isn't enough--got to be able to *do* something with it in the end.

Init killing isn't necessarily part of being an ace, but being higher init goes pretty far in helping a ship leverage any position advantage.

7 Barons is a B-tier list just like basically any efficiency swarm outside of Separatists. It's somewhat better at keeping guns on target than some other similar lists (Sycks, TIE/fos) and higher initiative than normal, but the ships don't hit that hard and die just like anything else. If the Barons' green dice are hot then it's not going to be fun to fly against, but that's true of a lot of things.

for a B-tier list, it feels really good to me

but if the community is convinced it's not a problem, I'm not gonna argue, I really do love my speedy TIEs and I'd like to get to keep them

I think my point is that an a-wing with a bid can functionally be as or more mobile than the barons. So barring init killing, the a wings are trading modded barrel roll shots for the ability to double repo (or lock boost).

To me it feels like they should be similar to the barons in that matchup (again ignoring init differences)

My main problem with swarms like these is the real cost of the expansions aren't scaled proportionally to the deployment cost of the ships. Still US$20 a pop, times 7 or 8. Aiee. šŸ™ƒ

Or $20 ($10 with a coupon code) for infinite copies of every ship in the game in the current digital landscape.

By that point we'll hopefully had a chance to see what's worth getting. I will say it's nice that some of the most swarms ships (ties, zeds, vultures) have come in cheaper packs.

I don't want to think how much the 5-6 barons I'd need would cost though

I bought a copy of the TableTop software but I have yet to take the time to mess around with it. One day, for sure.

I started off buying four T-70s before I even got the core kit, just because I wanted them. I have no actual room to talk about the real cost of the game, but a swarm pack all at once is some sticker shock. Heh.

I own over 10 T70s, I need help

That's a pretty massive thing to ignore, though.

Four flappy T-70s, one flappy T-65, and two stiffy T-70s.

Upon request I have updated the graphs and legend to reduce confusion. Also reclassified 5RZ2A based on recent survey results.

All ships with repositioning-focus are bastards.

If you (or anyone else here) would like to learn some time just let me know, I’m happy to teach anyone how to use it! You could come play aces high with us some time too then

Source? What survey?

You know that on two podcasts it was stated that people experienced Grievious+Nantex as the far worse (i.e. more NPE) version than the 6 Crack Nantex?
