5A. Yes it's good.
5 passive concussion zetas.
5 CLT or 4 CLT +.
Grievous + 4 PAA.
Ruthless Duchess + 4 passive tempests.

4 BB Rookies and Rose (baby anakin light x-wings? **** yeah!)
5 GAR-Y-Wing Ion turret spam (beefy control is still annoyingly good)
3X2pods (jousty variant of the 3A2pods version)
5 ship rebel salad (variants of the worlds finals list, still surprisingly viable)
Mareek + 4 Tempest Passive (or similar variants) [very green dice variance dependent, but can be very deadly against the cheaper beefy low defence large bases after the update]
How many 5 ships lists do we have now? Who is next?

Theres nothing special about 5ship except that it's a larger number than four and evidently where most xwing players stop counting

DT did nothing wrong
Why no K2SO and Hera synergies used, even though they both synergize with either crew or pilot combination, just like K2SO and Cassian?

I feel like most 5 lists I've seen have been better than most 4 lists or 6 lists, but I realize that's largely subjective. 5 allows for Ace + 4 blockers, 2 specialists/3 scrubs, 5 very good generalists, etc. 4-ship tends to lean too heavily on one part that may or may not cut it and bleeds mov in ace lists. 6 doesn't typically allow any one part to be strong enough. I feel like 5 is my favorite ship count.
Of course I realize the generalization is a bit silly.
Same Team! My favorite lists right now have five ships (or are Separatists, and therefore 8 ships). 4 Provocs and a TIE/fo, 4 Wookiees and Sabine, 5 ship Resistance Salad, etc.
5 is also right in the middle of allowable ship count, between 2 and 8. It should be a fairly common choice. You get enough arcs to fight low-ship-count lists and each ship is individually strong enough to overpower high-ship-count lists.
BoomOwl is sad that you talk about 5 ship lists without mentioning 5A and RZ2s!

DT's Worlds final list is still the coolest thing that has ever happened in 2.0.

I approve of adding more X-Wings to X-Wing
*Insert default comment for all spoiled ships* "It could be cool, but we'll have to wait for points"

Still weird to me to see TRoS gifs.
Somehow in my headcanon it's not out yet and I'm still patiently hoping it will totally justify all the decisions made in the ST.
RIP
Here I am hoping it's not out yet, and will actually continue the new direction set forth by the previous two quite-good films, and not get lost rushing headlong away from everything interesting they did.

Anyhow, T-85 as Medium Base really seems like a stretch to me. Sure, it's a bit longer than a T-65, but mere length isn't the only thing. Height isn't very tall, and the body is spindly. If a TIE Silencer is small, this probably should be too. Another example would be a TIE Striker. Multiply Length/Width/Height on a Striker and a T-85, and you get about the same bounding box volume. ARC is about 65% bigger.
For the TIE Fighter to TIE Heavy comparison, It's not just the length, but the fact that this thing is 50-100% bigger in every dimension--length, width, height. Bounding box volume is four times the TIE Fighter.
//
My T-85 idea, which I've been slinging everywhere I can... Cross Ailerons with S-Foils. Change between mandatory "boost-like" moves or mandatory "barrel-roll-like" moves, but you've always got to do one or the other.

Same page. Why Palpatine. Just... whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ugh. It hasn't ruined the franchise and we'll grow to accept it some day. The post-mortem explanations seem to work for me. I guess. It definitely did ruin the sequel trilogy though. Oh well.

There's a thread on that. I was on your side originally but several things here convinced me otherwise. It really is that big.
31 minutes ago, theBitterFig said:Statline: 3/3/3/3 or 3/3/3/2, depending on balance and how much folks want this to cost.
Seems off-theme for something so hunky. Definitely don't see this thing with less health than a T-70, let alone a T-65. Probably better balanced with 2-agility. I like your ship ability idea (sort of an integrated BB-8 but better balanced). If 2 agility is good enough for the TIE Striker, it should be good enough for the T-85.

I'm not opposed to a small base, but comparing the T85 to the TIE/rb, the T85 is over 6 meters longer and over a meter wider than the TIE/rb. The T85 is shorter in height though. Comparing the T85 to the ARC170, the T85 is 8 meters longer than the ARC. The ARC is wider and taller than the T85 by a meter.
If it works better for a small base, perhaps that is the way to go, but the thing is pretty big.

Considering how thick it is, it should have more hull, so 5 hull 3 shields. Actions should be boost, roll, focus, lock. If it's medium base, give it an IG-88 dial with tallons instead of sloops. Being a medium base with boost and roll would make it hella maneuverable and quick.. Foils could be focus to boost closed with the bullseye for full attack restriction, and focus into roll when open. Price 60+ for most pilots.
If it's small base, I dunno. I gotta rework the whole thing in my head, and I'm going to sleep.

It's like a multi-million dollar piece of fully-produced fanfiction.
Hmm.
You know, this might sound sacrilege to some, but further away I get from my youthful nostalgia of the OT, the more I feel the EXACT same way about Return of the Jedi.
The whole thing was like, "waaa?!?"... especially the "rebel victory" at the end (minus maybe the throne room sequence...but that was the whole point of the movie anyway).
So, I guess you could say I think JJ did everything perfect for 9... Precisely in the same production spirit as ROtJ...and exactly what most story-driven fans did NOT want.
I'm interested if anyone else has felt the same about the OT since digesting the ST.
______
P.S.
Now, the prequels are another beast entirely... But I will say I'm also of the extremely rare opinion that Attack of the Clones (written by someone other that Lucas, btw), blew the door wide open for this new generation of star wars stories.
It wasn't just the plot, it was the feeling that Ep2 gave the viewer with it's mystery approach that broke massive ground for the universe.
