Tie SFs are neat cuz they trade agility spikes for pure hp and they have a 1 forward which i like without losing the 5 forward which is incredible. Also they look cool.

Tie FOs I enjoy more because they dont shoot backwards and depend more on good setup of long run engages boxes and blocks. Which SFs benefit from to but approach less interestingly. Not having a boost on the SF means they still have a puzzle to solve for time on target its just not the puzzle I prefer when given a choice. Now gunner SFs those are a different story since they have so much incentive to keep that gun on target like a beefy FO.

Just fly Proud FO Fighters and you'll forget all about SFs without gunner.

Beautiful, just not TIE fighters in a proper sense. Same goes for the Reaper. Bomber and Punisher somehow get a pass though...

TIE/sf always seemed like a weird design to me. Why 2 agility? I thought they were rather more than less maneuverable as compared to a standard TIE/fo.

Their agility over an X-Wing seems to be represented by the superior power of a natural evade on 2 green dice, which I suppose is worth something.

I need to get a 6th. Is it the same model or did something change? Because that decides whether I will have to get 1-5 again or not. Don't know who else of you guys gets pressured into buying that many strikers, but they are cool and my will is weak.

In my experience, people tend to ignore him early game, going after bigger threats in your list, freeing him up to easily get the flank/take uncontested shots often. Then he becomes a late game monster once he becomes an ace. Never had him die without getting him to dance around at i6 for a while.

That free focus is... valuable. That's like saying, "Holo looks good, he's like Grand Inquisitor without the force." [I don't actually think Holo is like the GI.]

fun fact, i was never on a worlds stream because nam-my kept coming up to me, seeing 8 ships and hard passing.

I thought FW was this weekend until I just looked it up. For the 7th - 9th, I might be able to swing that.

Amusingly I just listened to that Mynocks cast with Nam-my walking my dogs today where he commented that he hates swarm games because they sap the energy out of commenting. I'm surprised he didn't yell REKT every time he passed you.

I mean...obviously. In no way am I saying 3-hull Rush >= 3-hull Soontir. It's just the closest comparison I could think of, since 3-hull Rush has Autothrusters, i6, and a fantastic dial. He plays very similarly to Soontir once i6, just losing out on some mods. Are those mods valuable? yeah, of course.

Welcome to the FFG forums, where "obvious" is in the eye of the beholder! It's nothing against you personally, because you legit might be way more insightful than I am, I just don't actually know you.

From my point of view, Rush is definitively inferior to Soontir. By the time Rush is I6, he's only worth 29 versus Soontir's 53. Rush's dial is excellent, yes, but he can't double repo and take a mod, and he doesn't have access to talents that could remedy that (e.g., Lone Wolf, Predator). So he's ultimately worse as a points fortress and worse as a closer ace. And the final clincher is that, before his ability activates, he's susceptible to killboxes that can take him off the board before he gets a chance to be an ace.

I would not put Rush on the board because I haven't seen a squad with him that looks like it would be happy against 5A, which a lot of people seem to want to run.

My sense is reliable green dice make them nervous, so... Boba/Fenn? maybe Luke?

Is FOcho with weight-of-fire sufficient, or are the blighters just too dodgy, because I hear 5A beats 5X...

Seriously, there is something to be done about green dice, and there's nothing full-mods Boba Fett hates more than dice reduction: No number of rerolls and focus/force will give you those two evades.

Probably the must underrated upgrade in the whole game (except in fringe cases like Rhymer, Oicunn, and Arvel). I dare you to find me another force multiplier anywhere near as powerful for 3 points.

Intimidation is also an incredible fit for A-Wings since it's the lowest initiative (and nearly the lowest price) you can get a Talent upgrade onto anyway.

I would honestly put 6 Intimidation RZ-1s up against 5X and bet on it.

5A won't have a great time vs consistent 3 green dice, but the other list needs some decent reds to punch back the other way. That's what I used to use crackshot for, and the suggestion above of intimidation is a good one

I only took Proud, because I was trying to keep then cheaper. Optics seems priced okay, I don't think it's a huge mistake to either take it or refrain, but I'm not really confident in my opinion.

I wish I could comment objectively.

Last time I ran 5x at a tourny I got dunked on by Rebel Steak (Lando+Luke+Braylen) and missed the cut.

Could I have flown better? Not really.

Could I have planned the engagement better. Definitely.

That feeling, though...

That feeling of, "It literally doesn't matter that I spend my focus with optics or not. I'm trading 1 damage on a tank with 4 damage for a dead A-Wing."

I think my opponent rolled max damage all but one attack all game...but it wasn't just good dice. He was double modding almost every shot on my As.

So I guess he earned it.

Yes. Boba, Luke, Vader, Kylo. Really tough to punch through, and takes forever. You need the one time where they blank out enough, but several times...

or a ton of hp like 4 jumpmasters.

Gosh darn it. I was pretty much set on which list to take to the UK, now I am not sure which faction I am taking.

Rebel Steak with Luke, Nien Lando and Configuration Autoblasters Ten sounds great. 3 double modded ships all the time.
