The backbone of my disruption squadron, and only scum ships on the list, interesting.

The more I test them the more I find the N1s actually kinda interesting. Sure the regen loops are sorta lame and havent found a good use for the generics yet. Otherwise though the dial is super cool without access to a k turn or hard 1 turns. Best part is all the early game efforts to set up clear lanes for quick maneuvers ideally from angles that keep fast options open longer. Then mid game the setup turns to enable more fast moves are neat to, or just attempts to keep attacking from range 1. The token stack is a little concerning but its limited time on target and need to "move" towards things to do damage makes it less simplistic.

Ani is an excellent blocker, decent offense with torps or even without them.
Just crackshot Ani is my preferred build.

Ric is a highly predictable but semi-useful filler i5.

Havent really seen Dinee much other than the few times I have run Obi Ani Ric Dinee.
Difficult to guess properly without somehow dial peaking but its still cool.

N1s are neat and I dont hate them.

So does this mean that Tavson+SFs is a good squad?

What would you do with it?

Hrm. I've been used to thinking that TIE/sf need critical mass to be really good...

Playing around in the builder, Tavson + 4 SF can fit, but has next to no upgrades (8 points if going Zeta, 0 if going Omega for all Init 3).

Tavson + 3 SF seems like it'd probably be overloading the ships.

Mix in some TIE/fo to get points? Tavson (Phasma) + 2 Omega SF (Crack/Optics) + 2 Epsilon TIE/fo? Tavson (Biohex) + 2 Optics Zeta SF +2 Optics Zeta FO?

Does a single Deadman Switch Cavern Angel Zealot make any sense? Certainly not as a squad, but one and only one as a piece in something else?

The thing can move decently fast, get in someone's grill, maybe block, maybe pop. If it's left alone off in space, it's quick enough to get to a flank and be not-completely-useless.

Anyhow, it's a shame the 2018 Store Champs CAZ plastic card wasn't also 2e...

Tavson (Phasma, Thanisson) + 3 Zeta SF (SF Gunner) fits...

I enjoy gunner SFs personally, I think they're fun and fair. But I'm not really sure they're a "Make Top 4 At A Large Event" sort of a ship. Like, I don't think you'll despair of your life flying Gunner Zetas, but raw ship count and efficiency seems to be what works best for First Order.

I've tried to make the Denny's N1 work, but with no munitions, people don't care about his ability that much. With torps, he actually poses a threat and some control, but will get nuked. I'm fine with him getting nuked so as to protect my other stuff, but with torps he gets too pricey for a sacrifice piece.

on the subject of SFs:

omegasquadronexpert + specialforcesgunner cut rate: 12.50% (32)
omegasquadronexpert with no gunner equipped cut rate: 27.10% (155)

zetasquadronsurvivor + specialforcesgunner cut rate: 17.50% (40)
zetasquadronsurvivor with no gunner equipped cut rate: 21.05% (171)

"Thing is awful...discuss" is just another way to say "My favorite thing doesn't have an obvious top meta list so I have to be creative. Give me answers or join my pitty party if you have none."

I feel my point was better placed here as it was based on readily available data rather than just whining cause my favorite faction feels bad.

Naw, this is the right thread for it (if it's a quick one-off post), but you gotta bring the memes. :D

Sigh. It's actually hard to find good bounty hunter fails memes. :(

That right there, that's what's wrong with Star Wars Fandom. The failure to realize that Boba Fett isn't a stone-cold bad-*** but a lovable dirtbag ****-up. :D

The power of TIEsf is toughness and rear arc (=time on target). Gunner don't help in those areas plus is incentive to fly differently. If you fly to optimize front arc, you're trying to do things other ships do better, while skipping things you do better.

Every TIEsf (Optic, Rockets, naked) is better than Gunner TIEsf (except for Quickdraw of course).

Actually the best use of low ini talents is probably intimidation blockers.

Counterpoint: would you rather have a Howlswarm with crack shots or intimidation? Howl + Iden + 5x Academies leaves room for 5 crack shots, or 1 intimidation.

QED.

And that's the answer to everything, is it? I mean we can already run something like that in Scum(Drea swarm with mining guild surveyors), nobody is. It'd probably be the Obsidian Squadron Pilots that'd get it rather than the Academy Pilots.

It'd be nice having talents on somewhat weightier low ini options, like Contracted Scouts, Bounty Hunters, etc. It could make Freighter Captain worth flying.

It's xwing data, its just here for you to point at while you whine about your favorite faction.

Let me introduce you to AT.C. Read the About section first so you can wrap your head around the idea that the number in "Avg. Swiss Rank" is how far back from the lead the faction's center line sits and not how far from the bottom it stands. Then take a look at the faction standings. After that you can shove your arrogant head up your *** sideways and leave it there.

That escalated quickly...

It's raging against the elites and those with pants made of money... Er... wait, this edging close to politics so let's just move on.

Plastic ships are cool!

That's fair. The pants are a bit much, I agree.

its definitely cool to see us moving out from the N1 being solely Ric with R2. Ani is definitely on a list of things to try for me
