Didn't deadeye jump master got faqed out of the game just 2 weeks before worlds back then?

I'm not saying we are at the same level yet, but in the past ffg wasn't afraid to change the most impactful meta list just before worlds

The problem is even though most of us know how bad for the game Ensnare is, there are only Hyperspace Trials and 1 (maybe 2) Grands in Europe that had it legal in time.

They did, but also I suspect FFG finds errata far more anathema this time around than before because they have points they can adjust.

I think they'd feel it'd be a "failure" to use errata over points adjustments (even if we disagree)

I suspect ffg feels like they've already done something with the nerf that came from the latest rrg. I look forward to the next points adjust though. I was talking to @Micanthropyre and we settled on 167 as a fair price for ensnare

Ever since wave 5 has come out I've had 0 motivation to play x wing. There's no events even announced near me, and I don't want to play casually because of the nantex. Feels bad but at least legion is in a good place right now.

I have a Hyperspace Trial... I expect salt and tears on the level of 1.0

Gosh, I still haven’t even seen the Nantex hardly, since I haven’t had the money to buy one and have only played a few games since it dropped... Feels really bad that it’s apparently so upsetting, though, when it looked like some fun jank balanced out by a squishy chassis and high cost. 😕

I haven't had enough table time with the Nantex yet. I've played three games with Chertek, Grievous, and 5 Drones. For some reason no one has shot at Chertek when he was range 2-3. He did some fun things, but ultimately the Vultures did most of the work. My last match was amusing, it was against Boba, Torani, and two Quad jumpers. The Quads were tractoring my vultures about until Chertek snuck in from the side and gave them a taste of their own medicine.

Something I've overlooked since 2.0 has been brought to my attention and left me wondering how often, if at all, it's enforced: r0 rules.

Rr states that it might happens to have a ship fully executing a manouver (aka not bumping) while landing at r0 of another ship and thus being unable to shoot at it.

Similar story for obstacles: even if you don't overlap it, you can sometimes still be at r0 of it and then suffer all its effect.

I had no idea it was a thing (I actually argued it was dumb and ridiculous until I was pointed the precise lines in the Rr where it's explained... D'ho) and I have never seen it enforced.

Is it something I was the only one unaware of, or is it basically an ignored rule? I don't recall I've ever seen it in streams either

I was aware of it, but it's so corner case as to basically never happen. The game pieces have to line up perfectly.

it is slightly more plausible as advantage templates become more common and in some cases advantagey, so i'm glad that the rule exists in the rrg, but it's still very rare.

I hate that the Nantex is making me turn to building funny lists instead of just playing regular ships that point forward.

Some morale-boosting propaganda.

The weird part is im not even sure the “obvious” list building counters are actually that good of counters. Bigger base ships still have to deal with a mobile 270 degree turret that can throw 4-5 dice eventually and consistently stay out of arc attacking with its side arc. Also its not uncommon for Sun Fac and Brewer/Chertek to be in a list which is bad news for Medium bases. Large bases are only rolling 1 agility anyway and with some exceptions (boosting turrets) have knowable movement and arc options? So the advantage there isnt as pronounced as it might seem. Small base Swarms are just as if not more vulnerable than small base Aces.

Turrets seem like the best answer but even those are “generally” still in tractor range if they want to take shots.

Pretty sure the good “answers” are i6 moving last and multiple combinations of repositioning turrets base size bombs and high init?

We've come so far so fast. When wave 4 dropped I was trying to figure out if 2 arcs, obiwan, and ric was too unwholesome to casually play. It's been what, 3 months?

Yeah, its the nantex Im running. So good. Run him with a Sense Maul and Chertek is a scary dude when he blocks you.

Oh gods. Sense.

Wish there was a cheaper force user, I think only Dooku and Maul are the force users for Seps?

Would you use Dooku? I think he's taking to much fire to make use of his ability with Gonk much.

And what else would you put in for the 30 point hole? DBS404?

This guy needs a nickname. The R0-1 guy.

Don't worry. Sense Dooku fits with three Ensnare Bois and everything now at I3, so you can really just do what you want, man.

Wait. Do I know you and you have a vastly inflated sense of how our r1 went?

Maybe - did you play at Dragon’s Lair? I know you’re from somewhere in Texas... if so, nice to meet your actual acquaintance!

I don’t think any part of my X-Wing play suffers from ego. I usually think my play is (at best) on par with my opponent, and that dice are why I win.

So, in full disclosure, I 100% expected to lose that match before we played. I think you had a better list and you played well, whereas I have no illusions about being better than mediocre. Our game should have been a lot closer on average. The other two games versus not-Nantex were not close, and not on account of unusual variance.

That’s sufficiently different from normal to me that alarm bells are going off.

I’ve played quite a bit and only seen the Nantex if I brought it. Despite the internet echo chamber it isn’t really all that bad.(though i do suspect it’ll be a problem at worlds)

How many games have you played with or against it?

Not that bad because it's not prevalent, or not that bad, it's close balance-wise?

I believe the former may be your intent, because the latter seems a bit... off.

The former. It’s bad if you face it. I just don’t see many people running it.

lol, yup, that was me.

sorry, what I meant was, you were vastly inflating my performance in the game. you played fine, I messed up the engage and it snowballed from there.

but yeah, i had the same experience, my next two games were not close, and it wasn't me flying better so much as the nantex bullying.
