There were even 16 Vynders. The 2 Hatchet Aces (vynder vader soontir) did relatively well, both went 4-2.

I am very interested in that list, that's why I know

you can never underestimate the communities ability to take a bad to okay list that does well once and spam it to try to get the same result. It's like watching list trends the weeks after Phil GC posts an article about some jank he flew and watching everyone fail with it.

Wait, I thought our marching orders were to PANIC and yell JUDGE!! about the first three list archetypes. Did I miss the new memo?

You and I have very different definitions of bad. Tie phantoms are proven good, even without their bogeyman build from earlier in the year, and hatchet man is good when flown correctly. Going 4-2 at a system open still lands you some decent prizes, definitely worth taking.

Sure it’s a follow the leader to list building, but it’s not bad jank.

quad phantoms are good proven good, and aren't so much follow the leader now as just the meta. hatchet man (which had one sucessfull run) falls on the okay spectrum of bad to okay, if im being generous. That percentile is atrocious.

Oh absolutely! But the version of Vynder with Soontir and Vader is a list that perfectly fits my taste. It is like Quickdraw Inq Gunboat in 1.0, or Soontir Whisper Redline last Autumn, and even my current Anakin Mace 104th is in a way similar.

Sense Vader? Not for him, but his wingmates?

Absolutely. And for him. Sense on a 3-force pilot is so good, I'm not sure why it hasn't gained more traction. Stuff like the Anakin/Mace + torrents or @Starslinger72's Vader/Soontir + academies list...why bother with a bid, when you can just pick a ship to block and kill?

Yeah, sense Vader is cool, but....

Sense on Mace paired with Elleberger rocking R2-A6 will be as annoying as it will be funny. Don't think that it will be better than the Luminara + Padme + [optional] handmaid(s) wombo combo that is DEAR LORD THAT IS A ROUGH TIME IF THE REPUBLIC PLAYER KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING.

not a slight on you, I just doubt that 14 people at Atlanta's favorite pilot from the movies is Vynder.

A lot of folks really do love Gunboats, though. I never played the video games myself, but it was clearly the most wished-for EU ship for many, and it still costs a fortune on the secondary market despite--until recently--not being super successful. Not a movie-ship, per se, but I'm sure a large number of folks are just excited to put a decent Gunboat squad on the table.

Yup. We are playing a game called X-wing, and I would wager that the percentage of players over 30 who played the computer game X-wing (or TIE Fighter) is easily 80% or higher.

i know at my local it’s at least that.

I hated the gunboat. Slow, accelerated like a lazy turtle and turned like a brick.

It gets bonus points for being the first shielded craft you could fly.

TIE L/Ns died to 2 super charged shots and died to any collision. It's all fun and games until you get sideswiped by a drunk Y wing.

I totally didn't take PhilGC jank to a HST...

*Boba-Emon was hella fun though*

TBF, I flew Kylo + QD long before Phil GC even wrote about considering the pair. The difference is that I sucked hard with the list before he actually did well with it.

Though I'm tempted to netlist his triple T70 list despite its place in the current meta.

That's what the community does with every list. Some land, some don't.

PhilGC is effin' inspiring. He's a far cry more interesting to follow and attempt to emulate than all the smug drones out there spamming the same lists tournament after tournament.

i feel personally attacked

So after running a VCX in my last 6 games of xwing I have finally realized what makes the VCX cool. Does Leia make it kinda stupid? Sure probably. Does it need Leia to be useful? I dont think so nope. Do I like it partly because its been winning me nearly “blind” jousts? Yes.

Luke, Wedge, Magva Hera is neat.

I wish it could be added to hyperspace without the sheethipede. VCXs used as forward arc only K turning Upsilons have my attention. Im sure some less interesting double tap turret version will eventually be optimal but for now big angry 14 hp xwings are fun.

You’re not smug. Clearly not targeted.

Yeah I’m sure leia is as stupid on it as she is with everything but let’s face it, 4 dice without mods sometimes roll all hits and smack half points on ships. As a frequent tavson user I can vouch for how amazing 4 dice primary is without k turns. It is too bad that, like you said there will probably be dumb turret shenanigans, but I have always like the forward arc vcx, it’s really scary but there is counter play and you can still clench and pray if you don’t dodge the arc

Running Tavson all Trial Season and then trying the VCX has been eye opening...it stays involved in games with so much less effort/setup for not that much more cost ( +6-11 ).
To the point that if you put a little bit of thought into the 1st engagement like you would out of necessity with an upsilon the VCXs value to your list goes way up.
And if your really struggling Dorsal Turret is only 2 pts to have a little arc dodge insurance policy. Its there to keep the pressure on, Ion to.

Lothal = 68 pts
Choppers = 70 pts
Hera = 73 pts
Kanan = 84 pts

So far Hera is my favorite simply because of i5 helping to still shoot the turn she would be init killed, her pilot ability is fantastic but could also be blank.
Chopper, Lothal, Kanan all seem useful to. With Magva Crew, Saw Crew, and Leia available I think this ship is just out right good.

Is this even more gross "joust me"? Maybe Swarm Tactics on Wedge instead of the regen droid?? I dunno...

Kanan Jarrus (84)
Dorsal Turret (2)
Magva Yarro (8)
Leia Organa (2)

Biggs Darklighter (48)
R2 Astromech (4)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)

Wedge Antilles (52)
Servomotor S-Foils (0)
Total: 200

Panic! Someone posted a Biggs list! Panic!
Real talk though, I legitimately cant bring myself to run a rebel list without Luke Skywalker in it.
They guy is just relentlessly useful and Luke/Wedge is thematically cool.

This is pretty much how I would summarize Luke T65 gameplay.

Maybe Heightened Perception on Kanan.
