While powerful, I don't think SLAM rises to the level of a problem as it exists in the game right now, but that's because FFG has been careful to keep it from being a problem.

I agree with this, and with Brunas, and thus (I think by the transitive property) with myself (which should not be legal in public). I'm frankly just still really annoyed at FFG for nuking AdvSLAM K-wings (which could have been reined in by several means) while giving even more powerful AdvSLAM (PS/Init aside) to Gunboats in pretty much the same breath. But God help us if there come SLAM-capable ships at I-5 or I-6.

In short, Brunas triggered me. Blame him.

Imagine the world where black 1's charge could be recovered. That's a bad world to live in. IMO there are actually a lot of mechanics tied to inferior platforms that get busted AF as soon as any of those platforms get even remotely good.

Yeah... I look at those cards and am trying really hard to see how it's not situationally super broken. Like there are some lists that just don't care, Handbrake Han laughs at your puny attempts to tractor him even if you do get him in arc. But non-PS6 small bases...

Which makes me wonder if they shouldn't have found a way to make SLAM happen in the end or system phase.

End phase would have been solidly interesting. That's a rather interesting idea...

People would poo-poo it just like 2E Agile Gunner or 1E Gyroscopic Targeting, "but it telegraphs!!!"

ASLAM wasn't OK so they rebuilt the entire game, but Slave 1 Boba moving after you, changing his dial, and boosting over you to drop a mine on you in the system phase before you ever had a chance to do anything is fine.

I believe the official justification is "it's cool when high initiative stuff does it"

Oh wait... end phase slam would be stupid for bomb dropping. Nevermind… It does telegraph, but it telegraphs explosives....

More like, "its cool when one unique ship in the list does it, it sucks when the opponents entire list does it."

I agree. Really. What Poe does to those 10 ties in like 20 seconds in TFA. What Vader does to everything in comics and books. Canonically, pilots like that should be gods amongst men. Whether that's good for the game, don't know, not sure if I care.

But that's an empty solace if you're running a list that doesn't have anything at I5/6...

I think that's the name of the a future list if they ever let me intel agent people again.

I dont know when it happened, but all I really want to run anymore is 200 pointsish Ace Trench Run variants. Movie Aces FTW.

First Order, get down from there.

Seems like First Order players have started to see the Matrix. What lessons did they learn? What tools are they using?

Turns out Tavson and either a SKB or QD create a favorable endgame vs Rebel Beef (most of the meta) for Kylo.

Also...sad Roger Rogers

my favorite part about these graphs is the way they've tried in every way imaginable to make them as unreadable as possible

that does nothing, so it's a very good impression of actual FFG errata.

This. Its basically because Rebel Beef is so popular and Upsilons are hungry. I dont think FO is particularly strong its just useful for the most common matchup.

25-30% of the time, it works every time.

Play Upsilons.

The other 50% of the remaining 70% of the time you basically have to see the matrix against some Aces moving after you or find the aces players that will joust your tavson for no apparent reason. (Hint thats the vast majority of aces players).
