I've got the urge to model up a bunch of Scyks with little rotary cannons under the chin, but I own no Scyks.

I'm more interested in it on a Onyx Ace or two with Marksmanship for this reason. Yeah, Juke on a named defender is cool and the best defender kit, but you pay +5 pt for Juke, and then +6 to +10 tax for the name. With this, you are not only better at jousting things, but you can terrify that which wants to joust. Scare the dickens out of the likes of a Fenn Rau with rolling a single hit. a single natty hit. Wielded by a chassis that refuses to die. Opens the build options. "You can't get bullseye reliable at I4!" But the point is that you can threaten with it, either forcing Fenn to burn some actions or even alter his trajectory entirely!

Ok you fools, if this doesn't convince the lot of you to fly those sexy defenders--even just one of them!--as area control pieces, you aren't even trying to make them work. Rexler is making cuts!

Not really. You only get the crit retention if you're outside of the target's front arc, so your opponent is going to want to joust you to mitigate that.

Maybe, against a dodged target in bullseye ya. Otherwise his primary is better.

Connix seems like a meaningful power bump to Starfortresses and YT-1300s (Rey's title allowing boost while stressed really shines.)

I don't think it's good, but I'm not sure how not good it is. I guess I sorta like the idea of a hypermaneuverable pocket aces to deal with beef and a bruiser. This is sorta the reverse of an ace-Miniswarm. Mini-ace + high grade beef.

SNR Inquisitors are what a healthy, balanced design Imdaar Test Pilot looks like. You can use them in basically the same way and they essentially do every thing the Imdaars do except a degree worse in all respects.

If Imdaars (or Phantoms) didn't exist, this would probably be something worth looking at, and these might actually be worth a look (unironically) in Hyperspace when the time comes.
