I don't know of a video, but....I don't think Arc Dodging happens on such a regular basis as it did in 1st Ed. It happens, but just not every turn. I think that's a good thing, to be honest. I have used Vader in the end game and done a lot of Arc Dodging. One hard turn and BR can get him in crazy good positions. It's usually at the end of the game, though, and doesn't always come down to knife fighting, but it does happen.

I wish Vader had a 1 hard turn, but he doesn't. And 2 hard's often overshoot.

Of course, but it feels (to me) like they are more sensitive to this than other factions. They are versatile and can field a lot of archetypes, but other factions do those archetypes more easily. As a result I think they are both best placed to adapt to the meta (and have the biggest need to) so it will take longer for particular FO lists to see consistent use. This isn't a bad thing and I think they are the most interesting faction by far.

Basically, unlike extended, hyperspace lists don't completely "build themselves", and require some level of thought. That's not to poo-poo people's current thoughts - it's more to encourage people to keep digging, and keep counting to 200.

I'm pretty sure, yeah.

All of Scum's 5 hyperspace ships are good, most of them for at least 2 pilots. They're just kinda hard to fit together.

Somebody will figure it out.

On the same note as Empire, not just having a 40-50 point ship you can just fly at people is actually really rewarding in a way.

I agree with your answer, but strongly disagree with how you got there.

1. The ability queue is a nightmare and I try to avoid using it as a reference.

2. You can add things to the ability queue that you have not yet met the requirements for, but have met the conditions to trigger.

e.g. two cards have condition A

card 1 has no other pre-requisite, but gives condition B

card 2 is, after you A, if you are also B

Condition A happens

card 1 and card 2 are added to the queue

card 1 triggers, causing the rest of card 2 to be satisfied (before being checked)

card 2 triggers, as condition B is true

I know there are examples of this somewhere, but I'm drawing a blank at the moment! I'll fill in something more tangible soon™

Beep boop beep this is where you lost me. The way I understood the ability queue ( after talking about my unkar example with an ffg judge for like 10 minutes at Coruscant) was that you slot everything into the queue, checking for all triggering requirements, before you resolve any of it. So it couldn't happen that you can meet a condition between the queue step and resolution because it has to meet the condition before going into the queue in the first place. Is that wrong?

There's a subtle but important difference I'm trying to highlight:

Jake is a good example. You can trigger his ability, but you don't actually measure to a legal target until calling it from the ability queue (not while adding it). If Jake can't perform anymore actions, you can still trigger his ability - there are just no legal targets.

What if I build a tunnel of bombs, and my ship goes beneath the top bomb without hitting any of the bomb templates. Does it overlap?

I actually have a few rules I wouldn't mind asking, but they were obscure enough that they've only been asked once locally and I've forgotten the questions.

Edit: Oh, I remember one... so pilot initiative determines the order of ships activating and doing things in the system phase, movement phase and combat phase (as per rules reference on initiative)... how about the end phase? Is that just player initiative, or pilot initiative despite being unspecified?
