**** some folks call the organization sexist from the one guy making some cringey Leia comments,

🤨 I'm going to have to call bull on that framing of VTTV. They're a little out of the loop on pilot/upgrade abilities and miss a fair bit of what is going on the table, but sexist is not something I see as being a fair critique of the group. Especially with them trumpeting:

You aren't wrong, the guys not knowing the stuff was huge, but reddit being Reddit keeps redditing

Free Content + Mute button FTW.

Separate but recurring topic what is your favorite 2.0 hyperspace Ace and why?

Poe

Nien

Ello

Kylo

Luke

Fenn

Old T

Duchess

Vader

Lulo

Rebel Han

Rebel Lando

Rey

Boba

Blackout @Kieransi

Going to go for the cheeky answer and say none of them. Hyperspace kinda bores me, banking on the Sith Infiltrator changing that.

Rebel Han because you spend have the game figuring out the rules.

Wha..?

tou don’t like any of these aces?

separately, poe is probably the best actual ‘ace’ in the game. No real token stack (sans debris gambit), fantastic dial with r4, and one get out of jail free and possibly win the game per game.

Poe is my favorite because of his general goodness.

Nien is my favorite because his shenanigans are the shenaniganest.

Ello? Hmm. Nah.

Kylo is my favorite because he can be anywhere.

Luke is my favorite because of all the force.

Fenn is my favorite because jumping into r1 arc for defensive purposes is a giggle.

Old T is my favorite because he's a **** street thug mugging your face.

Duchess is my favorite because she's cheap.

Vader is my favorite because crits for days!

L'ulo is my favorite because he is the best value per point.

Rebel Han is my favorite because he's just so darn lucky.

Rebel Lando is my favorite because he's the ship everyone says will probably be great one day.

Rey is ok but not worth it.

Boba is a jerk.

Really solid yea. He is remarkably similar to Soontir but much less sad about being in arc because T70 statline is the goldilocks of small base stat-lines. Secret Gunboat.

Never liked the Reaper as a platform, I like ailerons on a knife-fighter, less so on the support ship. But honestly most of it probably stems from an annoyance at Rebel Falcon being legal and Lambda not being. It's not really a legitimate gripe, but it's mine haha

T70 statline + cheap super maneuvrable turret ships is why Resistance is so strong on paper. And why they are placing at Extended events. Pre & post points change.

If only FO could do the same outside of the anomaly of the Upsilons nonsense...

Apparently the two instances were "Leia hot" and calling Phasma a "***** in a stormtrooper helmet" along with the (usually incinting) sequel hating. I can see why that is ill received.

@Boom Owl where's Blackout? :(

Why do people keep saying this?

There are plenty of decent lists besides Tripsilon. FO is awesome!

Thank you!

Blackout's my favorite because I just put Fanatical/Optics on him and don't feel that bad being more aggressive than I should be with an ace. X-Wing hitpoints and attack but TIE Interceptor maneuverability and agility. What's not to love?

I think him being "overpriced" is largely exaggerated - he seems to slot into a lot of lists really nicely. I'm expecting some minor cost reduction across the board for Silencers in a couple months, but they're still very playable right here and now.

So yeah. There's an FO thing other than Tripsilons that I've been enjoying.

Canadians keep telling me it's crazy expensive to fly anywhere in their country. So I believe them, because they're Canadian.

As for America... sure, if you're in certain big cities. Otherwise, I suspect not.

$210CAD for the 450km from Ottawa to Toronto. In US metrics (cause I know real metrics are hard for you guys 😁 ), that's 160USD to go 280 miles. It ain't cheap.

You arent wrong. Double upsilon, Double SF did solid this weekend, and that's without a Dornitz to be found. Silencers are finding a niche. I have faith

That Talon roll call in Toronto. Right or wrong?

Having i been playing it wrong all this time? Or Canada Xwing craziness?

Imperial lost marginally. And missed 2 turns of Vader fire due to the ruling. The Bwing would have been PS killed for certain that turn. SO definitely cost the Imp player the game. in my eyes. I can see why the judge ruled it that way having reread the rules, but never seen anyone play it that way. So definitely caught me by surprise.

Fenn because 5 unmodded attack dice is just a really fun coin flip.

I am also mildly interested to know who asked for a judge call there. Did the judge just decide to intervene or the Rebel player went for the technicality?

From my reading, it was right. From the rules on Tallon Rolls:

"If the ship fully executes the maneuver, before the player places the ship at the opposite end of the template, the ship [is rotated] . Then the player places the ship with the hashmark on the side of the base aligned to the left, middle, or right of the end of the template, (similar to a barrel roll)."

The actual maneuver was a 3 hard, so the player has to complete that before turning 90 degrees and moving along the hashmark.

As much as it pains me to say, I learned I have been doing those wrong for ages. At least as long as 2.0 has been out. It's pretty clear with the If Statement that you dont rotate until after checking for bump.

The actual manuever is a talon roll, not a 3 turn.

In Canadian events , possibly.
