Anecdotally Proton Torps are less available so its ok for bad generics to come out of hiding I guess?

That's awesome. I think so - the 3/2/4/0 statline was really unfortunate when it could mean trading 34 points in your list for two proton torps.

If you look over some smaller tournaments on listfortress, there are now suddenly generics in so many lists! All-generic lists are still rare, and I don't think that this is a useful distinction. But named-only lists are as rare as I haven't seen it in a long, long time.

It really genuinely is awesome that it happened but I have no idea what the rest of the 120 player field looked like.
Its a list that has incredibly thin margin for error even with the +pts to torps.
There are so many lists that can still just init kill 1 thing per turn and it suffers if its own red dice don't cooperate.
Alot of other efficient higher ship count lists operate I2 or above as well which just adds to the difficulty.
Sure can block well and cast nets though.

Looking at the final, looks like it does use the newest points since Lulo with trick/heroic is 41 instead of 40.

Well, we tuned in for round 4, saw a Han (pilot), Boba (pilot), L3, and Seevor squad. It seemed too good to be true, so we put it in squad builder and it came to 214 points. My friend asked on the stream what the deal was, the streamer said the squads were submitted before the points change.
That round is now the only round from that tournament that has not been uploaded. I wonder if that player brought a 214-point list and no one noticed until later.
Didn't get to stick around to find out more as i had my own event to run.

Yeah @Brunas convinced me to run prockets Vader + prockets Maarek + Soontir at a store event last week. It went well and prockets definitely fit well on the advanced, but I still can't shake the feeling that Soontir did the majority of the heavy lifting as usual 
I think I'd put afterburners Maarek (with or without prockets) into the "tentatively flyable" category now for hyperspace, but I'd still not claim it compares well to other uses of those points, particularly vs. extended or even other factions in hyperspace.
...Soontir might be too cheap too but YOU CAN'T TAKE THIS FROM ME FFG!!!

They took my quad phantom fun from me, they will come for you too. Could you imagine a game where even one Interceptor pilot is viable?

my research indicates old points were used, but the streaming software displayed new points.
