Farmer vs Booth is the final

Farmer is a Krayt now.

I have only ever played against squad of legend, but Booth's stream game against Poe/lulo/Nien was one of the most expertly executed Ace Ace matches I've ever seen. Range control on the approach was perfect, and he always had every attack vector he wanted. And he overcame truly crud dice, too!

Yes that was beautiful to watch. But the resistance player messed up big time with that roll infront of the debris for Poe, and the T-roll the turn after for Nien. That completely threw the game

I hope @Rytackle wins, and only partly for all the memes that would follow.

Tomorrow will be epic when the points drop and at least half the players will wonder wtf happened.

Nah. Most people realize their list could/probably won’t be legal by end of day tomorrow.

Having flown quad Phantoms, I left it behind after a couple of wins. Won’t be sad to see them go.

I only own one and borrowed one for our launch tournament back in September to play two juke sigmas and two gunboats. Gunboats basically never mattered, but even two juke sigmas can do work.

I flew 4 for the first time today to get it out of my system. I can imagine how deadly it would be in the hands of a competent player.

Booth won

Kinda fitting, that the squad of legend had one last showing before hopefully being torn up

As a side note: magnetized ships facing the wrong way is the only thing that seriously irks me. Of course it doesn't have to be intentional dirty play, but it is dirty. If you magnetize, take care they face the right side.

It was irksome to watch, gave Dion fits trying to figure out which way the arc was pointed. It was the last match of a long day so I can see cutting some slack, but it firmed up my decision to not magnatize mine. The less misinformation from shoddy gamestate representation the better.

Farmer knew which way it was pointing - so it wasn’t unfair or misinformation. The finals of the tournament does not revolve around the stream and it’s viewers.

Yeah definitely agree there. He really wanted the unanswered shot on Redline, which I get...but ultimately rolling out to get a better shot the next round might have been more advised. In any case it's always easy to monday morning quarterback. But I do recognize that Phil played top-notch in all his stream games.

I was so not prepared for those. You win the internet today, sir.

The YT-2400 needs to be burning in this one.

I mean have we learned anything this weekend besides confirmation that extended is trash?

Honestly, from a stand point of someone who has been away from the game since 2.0, this tournament looked way more diverse than what I ever could have expected listening to vocal X-Wing sources.

Give hyperspace a good few months, and I’m sure it will be recognized as just as much, if not more of a trash heap than extended.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this early 2.0 time frame is looked on as some of the best days of 2.0 x-wing 3 or 4 years down the road despite some of its short comings.

If you’ve never seen the ball and washer magnet mod IRL, speaking from experience it’s honestly a non-issue at the table. While The mod itself is an inherently poor design, (sooner or later the magent begins to lose strength and your angled ship becomes a wobbly ship) it’s pretty clear from the cardboard chit and firing arc which way the ship is supposed to be facing. The top down view just gives an illusion of obstruction.

Or feel free to spend half the round trying to straighten out a weak magnet. (Which May lead to penalties if your opponent accuses you of slow play for it)

”Your eyes can deceive you, don’t trust them”.

You take nien to abuse Double Actions via Pattern analyzer man.

K turn, focus+lock, that kind of ****.

And as this weekend has shown, the best rebel pilot is Dash.

Dash is nothing special. The clear best Rebel pilot is Roark.

I thought Mynocks were great at sucking power from others.

It's the hill of (maybe unpopular) opinion I'll die on. I have some magnetized ships, and I know that they get weaker over time. I also believe that Farmer did not once think the ship was pointed to a direction that it wasn't. And I don't want to point at the winner here.

But if just one guy over the whole weekend fell for it once then it's unsportsmanlike behavior. That's all it needs. I've seen it at the SO in Hannover last year where more than one guy fell for it. And at least there, the ships were consistently pointing in a wrong direction for more than one game for more than one person.

Ships facing the wrong direction is a potential source of unforced errors and could give an advantage. And this one is both seriously frustrating if someone falls for it and potentially very bad.

I agree, this should be banned and eradicated.

Especially if you play like 9th game during the weekend, and you're facing 4 ships and need to be focused for each of them if it's pointed as model indicates, or as printed arc?

How easy to make mistake? Or how easier to make mistake elsewhere coz you're wasting your mental resources tracking this crap?

Last minutes point adjustment musings: do proton torpedo really deserve a point increase as so many people apparently are calling it? They are by far the best ordnance, but that doesn't mean much considering the competition is non-existant...

If FFG raise the point cost of the most abusable proton carriers (I'm looking at you Redline, Deathrain, Kavil with Han Gunner and Wedge) and maaaybe Jendon, would proton still need an increase?

I don't count Wedge as an abusable carrier because he doesn't get multiple mods without help. Luke is a better torp carrier then Wedge in a vacuum.
