Wedge is a lesser case, but he's what, 8 over the i3 generic? Valuing his ability at 2 points (if it was a 2 point EPT it would be Best In Slot...), the initiative scaling on the T-65 is ******* linear- 2 points, 1 init.

I'm pointing out that Nien, with a mediocre ability and less ps, costs 3 points more than Wedge who is the single best rebel pilot (along with Sabine).

I know that it has become a meme at this point to laugh at Wedge but it's very hard to argue he has one of the best pilot ability in the game right now, only utterly broken things like Boba and Redline got something better

I don't think you'll find that most people share the same assessment. I, for example, find Wedge's ability underwhelming and love Nien's.

Because people badly overrate movement abilities since day 1 of this game.

Doing lots of shenanigans with our ships is usually funnier, but that doesn't make it a better ability if the goal is bringing the most efficient list in order to win the dogfight, if the goal is just move plastic ships around and have a laugh (which is a totally legittimate and probably even better goal) then many things are better than Wedge

There is no way you gain more by not being stressed one or two times per game rather than lowering the defense dice of your opponent every turn.

Wedge is obviously bland but that doesn't change the fact Nien is mediocre at best

I kind of agree with most of that. Faced Wedge on several occasions and I always feel the effects of his ability. That's not true of a lot of other abilities. Best way to mitigate the Wedge effect is to just annihilate him, but that sort plays into exactly what his job is.

I don't agree he's better than Nien because I don't just overrate movement shenanigans, I venerate them.

The SKB is probably fine at 56.

Dormitz exists solely to push those SKBs up the board to give them alpha strike capability. I'm not even sure he's good with any other ships.

If adjusted with point changes, hitting dormitz should be enough. If via errata, make dormitz only work on small ships.

Then, the further point is that this isn't the entire list- wedge will increase the frequency of no focus results being rolled, meaning no focus being spent on defense on his shot- That focus will then be saved for another defense or their own attack.

It's like how Strikers hit slightly harder than Interceptors as a result.

This is also without accounting how everything is easier if you are ini 6 and how it's particulary good to remove one green from Boba and Whisper too.

Or how is considerable harder to get those double mod rather than the minus 1 green

Or how situational is that you actually want your opponent to use the focus on defense (especially considering Nien is ini 5 and already won't be shooting first as often as Wedge)

But I think we are all pretty tired of discussing Wedge: if the only arguement against his ability is that "sometimes you'd rather have him spend the focus rather than take the damage" it's pretty clear we have reached and overtaken the silliness
