Right now seismics would work on them.

But the text for what the actual bomb templates do is in the RRG, so they'd just have to replace "obstacle" with "debris field or asteroid" and then they wouldn't work on gas clouds.

I'm just guessing that will happen, based on it not making thematic sense, and being an easy change that makes which device you equip more interesting.

Oh, sorry, I grabbed the wrong thing:

When this device detonates, choose 1 obstacle at range 0-1. Each ship at range 0-1 of the obstacle suffers 1 hit damage. Then remove that obstacle.

Again, refers to obstacle, not Asteroid/Debris.

oh for sure. My problem is that I don't know why I'd bring the other obstacles unless I'm building my list around them. Was hoping for more variety in obstacle choice, not less.

I like taking large rocks because I expect at least some of my opponents are scared of them. I think at most I'm going to shuffle one cloud into my two large rock cycle... but hey, lets wait to see what all the rules are before panic and strategy.

You've also gotta think about what your opponent is bringing, I guess. Are you going to bring Reinforce Clouds if you know 15% of the lists out there are more maneuverable than yours?

Yeah - I'm guessing they will change it specifically to prevent it from working on gas clouds.

Oh, I totally misinterpreted what you meant! I don't know, is igniting a gas cloud with a bomb so weird?

Maybe not in general?

But it's a seismic bomb, and we specifically see it just breaking up rocks and tossing those rocks into stuff in the movie that its from.

I also think it makes list building a little more interesting if it doesn't.

how does it make more thematic sense that some sort of sound wave bomb in space can blow up a rock, but not make a cloud of gas explode?

Forgot to quote this the first time.

Allow all normal torpedoes/missiles to blow up the gas clouds!

With the new lock mechanics... that could actually be a cool way to use munitions on low initiative ships.

Wouldn't that be a great repercussion for getting too close to the clouds...

...what? That means they're selling them to stores for... $20? Are they even making money?

What!?

The funniest part is the Canadian retail price. Conversion kits are the same price in CAD at 401games as they are in USD at CSI. For this specific kit, it's cheaper, but just by $2 USD.

That's a rare thing, for anything to be cheaper in Canada.

I mean... you're trying to attribute a lot more logic than is required to a bomb that sucks the sound out of space.

Off the top of my head:

  • They look small.
  • Large base care a whole lot less if the repercussion is the hypothetical ion token

I like taking large rocks because I expect at least some of my opponents are scared of them. I think at most I'm going to shuffle one cloud into my two large rock cycle... but hey, lets wait to see what all the rules are before panic and strategy.

yeah, you right. I should wait for the full rules before proper panic.

How can that be?! There's always sound in space, how can a bomb deprive me of my "pew pew" sounds!?

Stupid logic

Putting panic on stand by. Bold maneuver, sir. I like it!

To be fair, once we put them on the map, I reserve the right to riot if I don't like what I see.

It is always wise to figure out the specific nature of the fire before you panic. Dumpster fires are bad, but trash can fires can warm you on a cold winter night.

It's all about making sure it's an oil fire before you throw water on it

So intentionally stirring trouble?

Geh, but... uh.....

To heck with it, I’m off to the glue factory for the rest of the day

Star Wars aliens have always been odd...

So when does Treacherous resolve?

While I'm at it, it's still never been made conclusively clear to me what happens to Advanced Sensors or Slave 1 when your dial is flipped in the system phase by Snoke/Informant.

was your dial revealed by a game effect?

Is that Kylo in a Rebel flightsuit?

No that’s Hohass Eckwesh, Wraith Squadron.

Fun fact, he actually had multiple personalities (a trait of his species) and his “Pilot mind” was hostile, hot headed, and prone to disobey orders.

His name was "almost horse in English / almost horse in Latin". Prime EU, right there.

Looks more like someone did a slight letter jumble on "Whoa Equine" to me.

TBH it’s not any better/worse than Ello Asty.
